@Zecc From the artist's comments, answering a question about the Japanese text:
I've gotten some good feedback saying Katakana would be the more appropriate

@El_Heffe tomorrow: checking in the neighbors.
Fake edit: The Free Dictionary has turned this post into another unintended Schródinger joke.
check in
- To officially confirm one's arrival at a certain place where one is expected, such as a hotel.
- To officially record someone's or something's arrival at a certain place. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "check" and "in."
- To communicate with someone at a certain interval in time so as to provide or ask about an update in status or otherwise simply talk.
- To die.
Hmm...I don't think I've ever heard "check in" meaning "to die." At least, not by itself, where I'd expect, "check out." Something like, "check into the pearly gates." Or a roach motel.

I think I'm going to have to relax restrictions. Three more weeks of lockdown is going to drive at least one of us mad. She's been getting more and more frustrated lately
Had the same problem. Moving living room furniture and especially her scratching posts, toys and boxes around helped a lot! The home has suddenly become a lot less boring to her.
had to carry her approximately three times as far as she's willing to be held for
With my cat, that was mostly a matter of training. She now sometimes even demands to be picked up and held, because I trained her to accept that.

I am amazed, fascinated and horrified all at once:

@error I am getting a “Video can't be played because the file is corrupt.”

@Bulb Pay the bribe.

@error Hm, works from home, didn't from work. Might have been the firewall or something.

Our cat has a different take.
She's learned to open doors that are left unlatched by pushing from the outside, but not pulling from the inside. We therefore tend to leave them open sufficiently wide for her to get through the gap.
On a couple of occasions, I had gone to bed, leaving the door ajar, as above, and subsequently observed her closing the door (by pushing) and then demanding to be let out.
After it had happened a couple of times, the bedroom door is now left wide open.
-
I have a cat that will sit at the back door, and when you open it she'll hop away.
We figured out she's not asking to be let in; she wants someone to join her on the patio.

Cat status: will push open a window that's left ajar, but doesn't quite grasp the concept of pushing open her catflap, unless I'm holding it part way open. Also refuses to use it at all to come back in if I'm watching.

Oh, she understands it perfectly. She just thinks that as an underling, it's your job to handle such matters for her.
-
@Zerosquare when it comes to coming back in, that is definitely true. Even if it's taped fully open, if I'm there, she wants me to open the door. If I leave, she'll come in through the flap.
But when she wants to go out, she'll push it, then step back to assess how much further it needs to go. This works fine when she's opening the window...

Cat status: Sleeping in the "house" I bought for her a year ago for the first time after she finally managed to rip the fabric off the floor. Because uncomfortable wooden floors are obviously better than fluffy cat beds.
-
Maybe she was ding and didn't like the color of the fabric.
-
@Zerosquare
So just be glad she didn't went for shit brown or piss yellow?

@error Quit hitting yourself!
I think there's something wrong with the wiring of that cat-bot.

@Applied-Mediocrity Or just a cat trying ice cream and suffering from brainfreeze for the first time.

@error That's one very patient kitty.
