Subway chicken sandwiches made with genuine 50% chicken
-
According to DNA testing, Subway’s oven roasted chicken and the chicken strips in its Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sandwich clocked in with just 53.6 percent and 42.8 percent chicken, respectively.
The chicken samples had an average of 16 ingredients. Some of the ingredients are expected, such as salt and other seasonings. But many were commercial preservatives and fillers. One commonality was that they all had high levels of salt.
"People think they're doing themselves a favor and making themselves a healthy choice [by eating chicken rather than other meat]," nutritionist and registered dietitian Christy Brissette told the CBC. "But from a sodium perspective you might as well eat a big portion of poutine."

Subway is bad for you. Salt is bad for you. They put a lot of salt in, because it makes you like their stuff better. Chicken from mass-scale farms are extremely bad for you. News at 11.

Well, I'm glad I only eat the veggie subs from there...
-
What bothers me more is that people are more worried about this, than the fact that Subway's idea of "one serving of meat" on one of these sandwiches is ONE LAYER. That's barely enough meat to flavor the sandwich, you fuckers!
My usual order has to be put in as "double turkey, triple bacon, mayo, light lettuce" to make the half-decent turkey club sub I usually get from there.

I eat subway VERY rarely, but when I do, I usually get the chicken sandwich. I can't believe it's has less chichen then the percentage of people voting for Trump.

Who the fuck orders just one type of meat in a Subway sandwich?

Do you have any dressing? Often, that's what adds the unhealthy amounts of salt and fat.
-
The way I figure, I was born with a 100% fatal sexually transmitted disease, I might as well enjoy myself and eat the Subway sandwiches my taste buds prefer.

Suggestion: use meat with flavour?

News in: Fast Food is low quality crap.
Save yourself some money and spend 2 minutes making your own rolls.

Don't they charge like $2 for each additional meat?
-

Nah. Standard chicken one is like £3, but the Subway Melt has 3 meats and is like £4.

3.5 grams of fat, 110mg of sodium.
Sodium is not anything to worry about though. Recent studies show that prior sodium recommendations are far too low and that basically if you have two functioning kidneys and no history of high blood pressure you can have as much salt as you want.

thank goodness, I was worried that all the shit talking I do in battlefield was going to catch up to me

Worse than the regular version? I wouldn't have thought that possible.
Also, my car only has a V6, but I don't want to try tasting it.

So watered-down . I'm not sure if watered-down makes it worse or better.
BTW, I love tomatoes, but I can't stand whatever they do to make juice or soup from them. Go figure.

I like watering down my juice. I usually take a small amount of apple cider and add St. Pellegrino and some ice.

I was born in the West Country, and diluting cider is against my religion. You, sir, are a ninny.

Provided the original juice is rich enough.

Sugar is the #1 cause of diabetes. Plus the cider is like $6 a gallon. Gasoline is cheaper then that.

You need to remember that in American, apple cider doesn't necessarily contain alcohol.
Also, it's pretty common to add ice these days and that waters it down when it melts

We call that hard cider.
-
@dangeRuss we call the non alcoholic one apple juice

Well there's apple juice and there's apple cider. I don't know what the difference is, but cider taste so much fucking better.
-
@dangeRuss said in Subway chicken sandwiches made with genuine 50% chicken:
apple cider
It is called just cider. FFS tourists.
BTW I come from where Cider is made in the UK.
-
@dangeRuss Apparently the difference is that the latter is unfiltered and unsweetened.
-
@Jaloopa daddy's apple juice!

Ah yeah, I remember now. It was confusing watching that episode of MLP:FiM where Rainbow Dash was desperate to get cider until I found out that's what Americans call apple juice.
-
@Khudzlin said in Subway chicken sandwiches made with genuine 50% chicken:
unsweetened
Why the fuck would you sweeten apple juice? Please tell me that's not a thing…
-
@Khudzlin No, Just no.
Bitter Apple tend to make sweet cider and vice versa.
Apple Juice doesn't have much in common other than pressing of the apples.
FFS just go to somerset and get the equivalent of moonshine.

uh.... not exactly.
generally apple jiuce is filtered and refined to be clear, cider is not.
here at least.
and cider is waaaaaaaaay better than applejuice. particularly if you ferment it and freeze distil it.
-
@lucas1
Dude, put down the beer and get some fresh air. Your insult doesn't even make sense.
-
@accalia TIL.
Though as an Englishman born of the West Country, calling something 'cider' that is also 0% ABV is not just wrong, it's wrongity wrong.
