Aspie Quiz

Jeffing target for aspie quiz takers, because NodeBB can't manage to fork a post before our watchdog process kills it for cooties.
The actual quiz is here:
For reference (to explain the initial exchanges) @Fox posted his results in the status thread but didn't explain what the quiz was.

What? That you suck at communication?

Sure, if you just reduce a whole graph to one data point. Asshole.
I was referring to the time that he questioned if I'm autistic.

I've not been following threads talking about this. Where do you get this chart from?
Seems like something to
playgame with when I have free time.
-
@Fox it's funny that that was, word for word, my reaction, when I first saw it.
And before you call me an asshole too, I've been through the whole "might have autism" thing and still suck far less at communication than you do. Though I am inclined to think you're more on the spectrum than I am which might go some way to explaining how much of an insufferable arse you are at times.

That you're desperate for attention by taking a self-assessment test confirming your suspicion that you're very, very special?
-

Or, if you look at the entire graph but lack a legend or a source with which to start interpreting it. I stand by my previous assessment.
-
@Maciejasjmj Have done that. I'm just not a social type as I have expected.
Not sure why the graph created with funny value, but here's the pic that I see:

What are you on about? @Polygeekery is nearly always right. The only thing he's wrong about is cheap gin.
STATUS I'm almost TR
I was looking for NoSuchElementException and couldn't find it but intellisense turned up FileNotFoundException and I was tempted to keep it.

Because I can't resist this sort of thing...

I thought you meant the same thing.

What did I say about cheap gin? I drank too much vodka last night to be able to remember.

Hahaha... I'm more fucked up...
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 147 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 66 of 200
You are very likely neurodiverse (Aspie)
-
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 89 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 119 of 200
You seem to have both neurodiverse and neurotypical traits
-
@Yamikuronue Oh, yeah, mine was something like 58 diverse and 160 typical.
-
-
You've got more than one personality in there...
-
-
@xaade He's also got some imaginary scores.
-
Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 82 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 146 of 200
You are very likely neurotypical

I have a very neurotypical result. Some of the questions I knew skewed me towards the aspie side, but I guess they weren't enough to make much of an impact.
One thing I noted, which kind of concerns me from a social aspect, is I know for a fact that had I taken this when I was much younger, like mid-teens, I probably would have shown much more of an aspie/autistic side. I was much more awkward, shy, introverted, and somewhat obsessive of certain things. I think that can be true for many children. I know this is not a scientific test or anything but it makes me wonder if some kids are getting prematurely diagnosed before they've fully developed, and with the stigma that autism comes with, it's something they might not grow out of if they've been misdiagnosed (e.g. when you believe you have something, you are more prone to carry it out into your adulthood, at least to a certain extent. Especially in social situations where feeling like the odd-one in the group can lead to a feedback loop).
-
It's fucking broken.
When I clicked "Go to quiz" originally and answered the demographic questions, it said the username (which it didn't ask for) was already in use, and asked for a username and password. After I entered a username and password, it said the birth year and sex information (which I'd originally supplied, but hadn't been repeated on the error page) was invalid. Finally when I just said fuck it and went back to the first page, gave it a username and password, and re-filled out all the demographic information, it barfed up a couple of PHP errors:
Warning: mysql_query(): No such file or directory in /home/rdos/rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php on line 2296
Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /home/rdos/rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php on line 2296
Also, the page's encoding is fucked up.
'course, it also doesn't have a
<!DOCTYPE>
...Fucking hell... that page is just atrocious. Maybe they should've found an aspie to write the code? Jesus...
edit: actually, this post probably says more about me than the quiz's results possibly could...

Pretty sure my oddities are not psychosomatic.
I've tried pretty hard to be different.
-
My wife and I like to play a game.
In this game, a person gives you a word, and you react with the first thought. The goal is for the word to be related to what they gave you. You fail if your answer relates to the previous word.
We tested this game on a few other people, and most people have no problems.
But for me, I mess up all the time, even when spending a lot of focus, intently, on the words I'm being told.

Yeah, it's been pretty clear to me you're non-neurotypical in some way, whatever it is. Realizing that helps me understand you a lot better, though you still lose me fairly often.

...wait, what?
-
Example:
Q: dog
R: cat
pass
Q: restuarant
R: tail
failThe funniest mistake I made was.
Q: stop sign
R: red
Q: butt
R: squareMy wife was confused by this one until I explained it.
Q: hairy legs
R: sexyI explained that I figured a person with hairy legs would have to shave, and therefore have sexy legs afterwards.

From the quiz:
Do you have difficulties judging distances, height, depth or speed?
Seems to me that one says more about your need to see an optometrist than what they're supposed to be testing for. :P
-
@masonwheeler I actually answered a strong yes to that one. I can't really judge distances well*, and I can't construct an accurate 3D model of the world in my head, especially if I need to rotate it. That's because I have some degree of dyscalculia, though. Which is technically another way of being non-neurotypical, in that I have a brain disfunction
* I can SEE distances fine, but I can't tell you how far that is. How far away is the car in front of me? I can gut feel it, and say I need to apply breaks, but if you ask me for a number it'll be wrong.

I can testify that, nope, even after having a good prescription I still have difficulty with depth.
In fact, one day I lost all depth perception completely. It took me a while to figure out what was so odd.
-
@Yamikuronue said in Aspie Quiz:

That's what is odd.
I have difficult perceiving depth.
But I have NO difficulty simulating it.
I can take objects and spin them in my head easily. Even from underneath, where there would be a floor in the way.
-
Do you have an alternative view of what is attractive in the opposite sex?
Alternative to what? Is there a "standard view of what is attractive in the opposite sex"?
-

ugh. I can't, I just can't. When I learn one way to get from point A to point B, any amount of explaining a second way will confuse the shit out of me.
-
Hmm..
Actually, I have trouble following verbal directions. (I think this is because I try to translate them into a picture, because I can't remember it otherwise).
But given a location, if I know which way the highways are, I can find my way back without getting lost, including being a good judge at how far the highway is.

That's good enough. I know a few girls who have difficulty to remember the way in the beginning if the direction involves, say, more than 5 turns. When they have to go to school or back to home, their friends or family member have to go with them.
-
@xaade So let's say I'm going home, right
And I get off the freeway, I turn left, I go a block, I turn right, I follow that road until it dead-ends, I turn left, I go up the hill, I turn right, I turn left into my driveway.
If you try to tell me that if I turn left off the freeway, but go TWO blocks, and then make a right, I'll have trouble physically understanding how the roads connect and it ends up in the same place. Intellectually I know it would, but I have to drive it a few times to get comfortable with that fact. I need to see landmarks to understand how and where I am. My husband can do that intuitively.
I use a GPS a lot, until I get familiar enough with the roads. Going home is a thing I've done often enough with my husband driving that I have a few ways I can go, but if there's construction or something and I have to go another way, it scares the shit out of me that I'll get lost for ages circling the area I supposedly know.
-
Apparently this is me:
-
In that example, I already have an image of how they connect.
@Yamikuronue said in Aspie Quiz:

Men statistically have a stronger intuition with navigation. Of course, overlap, but their average is higher.
-
@Yamikuronue said in Aspie Quiz:

My wife and I are similar to that. She is all about the landmarks. I have a very strong topological understanding of roads. Which means that I tend to get around just fine but the map in my head doesn't look much like a physical map.
-
@boomzilla Highways are the modern river... for navigation.
The only time I was screwed, was when I entered the largest ever single-entrance neighborhood ever.
The most frustrating part was being able to see the highway from 3 blocks away at all times.

For me it depends a lot on the scale. Up to a couple of meters, no problem. 10-50 miles, I have a fair idea what that means. How far is it to the end of the road? No idea except in terms of time to walk or drive it.
@masonwheeler said in Aspie Quiz:

There are people widely considered good looking, and people generally thought of as ugly. If you don't tend to agree with those assessments, that would probably be a yes.
More generally, (assuming attraction to women as that's what I know), if your tastes tend more towards "plus size" or larger, hairy legs, small breasts, or other stuff you wouldn't see in a beauty magazine, then you could be considered having an alternative view
-
@Yamikuronue said in Aspie Quiz:

I'm always late to brake, because I can't tell the car stopped.
If I don't notice the brake lights.... guaranteed "OH SHIT!!!" moment.

I have trouble because people start with "take a left at {landmark}", and I'm like "yeah, I know that. I can probably stop listening at this point, surely it will all be that simple. This person's voice sounds a bit like that actor, who am I thinking of?..."

@Jaloopa Well, I have a problem, which I'm sure is in my language processor not my ear.
Take a left at {location}, then a right at {location}, you'll see a whumlraly at rfroomlrohu, ...
what... ? wtf?
a minute of trying to figure out what that wasand then it's at the end of that road.
-
@Jaloopa Haha, that sounds more like ADD*
