There are JS-to_JS compilers and polyfills.
WTF does that even mean?!
I think it's called Babel. It compiles spaking new JS to old boring JS, so you can have all the latest bells and whistles while retaining compatibility with no longer supported browsers.
Why do you think every frontend project has a compile step nowadays? No, not to minify code, that's secondary concern.
pull requests are accepted
Fuck you, unless you're willing to pay then I'll PM you my rate.

You can decide to stop being stuck at any moment. There are JS-to-JS compilers and polyfills.
@Gustav said in I knew Python was slow, but not THIS slow. And I knew JS was bad, but not THIS bad:
Node didn't have Array.prototype.map until version 11.

@topspin being in charge of their own project, @Tsaukpaetra has much greater capability to stop being miserable whenever they decides, compared to me, an external contractor.

Sorta. Those polyfills are often costly - even the reference implementations of e.g. destructuring aren't all that performant. But he can definitely get as much sugar as he wants.

@izzion I'm sorry. I'm not very good with English. I meant, @Tsaukpaetra go fuck yourself.
(Which he probably does anyway.)

It doesn't help pay bills or fulfill long-term needs or wants, so I generally only do that to help trigger sleep.

There's at least one person in the world who mispronounced "Sith Lord" as "shitlord".

Apropos of the Big Footie Match recently--
I'm listening to a song, in Russian, whose chorus goes something like (translated)
Oh what suffering, Oh what suffering, Argentina vs Jamaica 5-0.
And yes, it's about a soccer match. Between two countries in the Western Hemisphere, neither of which has any history of speaking Russian or being associated with Russia.

If there's one thing Russians can do, it's suffer.

If one shaves their crotch, but not their ass, does that make it a mullet?
-
The words adrenaline and epinephrine both parse as "stuff from the thing on top of the kidney", one via Latin and the other via Greek.
(There's mention of the adrenal glands in another thread at the moment.)

Sewing and arts & crafts websites have costumer customers.

I've been pondering this. The definitional phrase "business in the front, party in the rear" is met, but the business is porn and the party is a pheromone party.
Might not be a mullet - might be THE mullet.

That'd be an improvement over the psychopathic warlord Shemhamforesh. That was Ishtar, iirc.

So... What happens if you feed the output of one instance of ChatGPT into another separate instance as the input? Will it respond to the that aren't questions or commands? Will it get trapped in an increasingly bizarre loop of accusations about misunderstanding? Oh wait, that's this forum...

It must. There is no input capable of which should not evoke some manner of output. At least, as far as I have seen.

Nah, ChatGPT mostly makes semantic and syntactic sense, even if its answers are factually wrong.

So, to make up for that slip, let's raise another random question: Does the fact that just about every actor has now been in the MCU at some point, and most of them made at least a brief appearance in either Infinity War or Endgame, mean that the Kevin Bacon game is forever spoiled? (Even Bacon himself was in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.) How many of those "shortest chains" were further shortened by passing through the MCU at some point?

Does anyone know Kevin Bacon's Erdős number?

@dkf I think he would be undefined.
