@tsaukpaetra that doesn't happen for me. Maybe because you're using infiniscroll?

@tsaukpaetra Mind telling me what the bug is? I don't see anything wrong.
The scrobbler at the top (1 out of 259) reads the position of the expanded replies. You can see it in action by scrolling further down.

Probably.
-
@tsaukpaetra I notice that it's displaying the first post in the expanded replies section, for some reason. So that's probably why the scrobbler reads 1 out of 259.

It will read 2 out of 259 once you scroll further, then 3, etc. ;)
-
@tsaukpaetra oh, does it keep loading more posts, too?
I think I do remember we've had that bug for a while, but it only affects topics with popcorn buttons or when I hack the vote to make replies go someplace else. And it only affects people who use infiniscroll mode. So... it wasn't a very high priority bug.

yes.

It can technically also affect posts that were jeffed in certain cases. Someone should continue this in the original bug topic though...

When it gets released, please add a database upgrade script so I can remove the plugin and not have two competing post diff systems.
But there's nothing to upgrade... did you want me to add one just for you?
module.exports = { name: 'Ben Lubar, you should disable your likely-superior post diffs plugin now', timestamp: Date.UTC(2018, 1, 20), method: function (callback) { console.log('fa-spin'); setImmediate(null, callback); }, };
-
@julianlam oh, you use the same database format? That's great, then.
-
I don't touch existing schema if that's what you mean. Where there's
post:<pid>
, I now havepost:<pid>:diffs
which contain the actual patch strings for each diff.
-
@julianlam can I disable the built-in revisions system through the admin panel? I'd like to keep the features of the current plugin such as per-user history visibility and the easier-to-access button.
-
I get that it's not everybody's cup of tea. I'll add that in
-
I'm not getting any notifications in my notification bell anymore, did something change?
EDIT: ah, seems this changed:
I didn't even know these settings existed.

I need to update my glasses prescription, @ben_lubar; I'm seeing double:
-
@twelvebaud left is from @boomzilla, right is from @julianlam
-
@ben_lubar Okay, so which one controls? Or do I get double-notified?
-
@twelvebaud said in Discussion of NodeBB Updates:

I believe someone determined that it's restricted by both, so both checks have to pass for it to notify you.

In other words, set one to "all" and the other to the rate you want to receive them.
-
@ben_lubar no it's mine. I made it.

Most likely. I don’t see that, but it’s not yet 6PM Saturday here.
So thanks for all the spoilers.

My bad experiences happened after I finished selecting the posts to be forked and watchdog.bash killed NodeBB and I had to clean up the database manually because WHAT ARE TRANSACTIONS LOL
Something from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
My goal for 2018 is to get WTDWTF on a database with actual transactions and foreign keys and other fun stuff like that without migrating to different forum software.
Finally working through some of my 4-month backlog in this topic...
How's this going?

Well, there's a PR to get NodeBB to support PostgreSQL:
Once that's in, the next steps are to deprecate the NoSQL database drivers and start converting the fake-redis to real-relational-tables.
-
This forum software was developed by @julianlam, @barisu, and @psychobunny with significant contributions from @PitaJ and @pichalite.
-
@ben_lubar That it was.

The backend database should be an
Instance of Discourse. One thread equals one table. One post is one record. You could create a category for indexes. Each post is one record in the index.

This post is deleted!

Aka rewrite it in Rust

Wow, I can't even upvote it.

Actual new update: Did the red boob change to a speech bubble or has it been that way for a long time and I didn't notice?

I think that was in the 1.8.1 update.

Ok, fixed that and the reply-to indicator being the wrong size.
-
NodeBB stopped loading nodebb.min.js there for a minute. It wasn't erroring, it was just omitting the script tag entirely.

Set your clock back.

Ooooo! I just noticed. If you start a blockquote section (
>
) and then paste multiple paragraphs NodeBB inserts more>
s to make it all automatically blockquoted!
-
@boomzilla I have been meaning to thank @ben_lubar for that. I assume he is the one behind it. It is a huge help when pasting in text.
Good jorb Ben.

Wait, I don't remember it looking like this:
