¿Where do you get your profile image?

¿Donde?

I think 75% of us will say "stole it from the internet."

Mine is an actual cupcake that I ate.
-
I'm the guy on the deck in the lower left.
-
My avatar? I made it myself. In Microsoft Paint. Years ago.
My profile background? I stole it from the internet. And hue shifted it in Paint.net. Months ago.
-
Or, more succinctly, from a Google Image Search for whatever I want to use.
Basically:
"stole it from the internet."
-
LIES! That picture looks nothing like the site you linked:
-
This avatar is my World of Warcraft character as he was rendered on an older version of the WoW website. Blizzard redesigned the website a while back and replaced the large character image with a small box containing the character's face.
-
I think my avatar is super popular among the general TV watching Crowd.
-
My avatar's a screenshot from a video game.
My user card background is from that programming language site that @lorne_kates made a thread about recently. My profile background? I made it myself, in KolourPaint.
-
The base lineart was commissioned from a friend of mine, the shiny colors and stuff were made by me. And the profile background i stole from the interblagz.

Mine is the painting Accolade by Edmund Blair Leighton, found on intertubes and resized by me.
The other stuff IDGAF about enough to do anything with.

I've made mine myself!
(from freely available materials)

Profile is a seasonal picture of a local tourist trap.
Avatar is part of an advertisement of some software we use. Thought it was a funny picture. Didn't even need a hat, transparency or rounding.
-
My avatar? Screencapped it from an old SNCF (French railways) ad.
My profile picture: own work.
-
I took it myself. It's my 1960's vintage Rolls Royce Nimbus engine, a ~1100 Horsepower gas turbine (jet engine) from a helicopter.
I've just finished rebuilding the rear-bearings and hopefully it will run properly now. I kind of have a gas turbine problem, 7 and counting
-
I took whatever gave me. And modified it a bit with LibreOffice Draw.
I think 75% of us will say "stole it from the internet."
That low?
That high. And 24% of us will say "found it somewhere on the Intarwebz" (or similar).

The real question here is:
How do you look at profile images without crashing Discourse.
-
Current one (as of posting):
StolenBorrowed from DeviantART and cropped (@accalia's is by the same artist)
-
I took the pic Discourse created from my username and applied Photoshop’s “Color Halftone” filter to it.
-
Btw, Whats "harinezumi"? Did I read that right?
Deviantart, I think my wife will love it. Sending her the link now.

Hedgehog, dear boyDid I read that right?
YesDeviantart, I think my wife will love it. Sending her the link now.
Be warned there's NSFW pics on there, so you may want to keep the filters on ;)

Ah, Im having a faint recall of the word “mouse" in japanese.
So it's the description of your avatar.
I grew up playing that game :) So many gold rings.
-
Yeah I thought of using what this forum app gave me but then I remembered this. Mr Sparkle!
-
I think it looks more like a wolf than a fox.
-
Avatar? Made with GIMP.
Background? Pub, the same day I got her.

Background? Pub, the same day I got her.
What did you get her? Goood, I can't go on like that!
What did you get her?
Did you get her a ring? Or maybe you got her pregnant? Or maybe you got her to do something stupid?
What did you do with her?
I can't... I can't go on like that...
-
Which one? The avatar is a crop of a picture that was posed on this very forum that amused me a lot. The other two pictures I've got are a general picture I got from “somewhere” (I was just grabbing something from my HDD) and a picture I took myself near Lake Louise.

A good home.
Man, this answer's a bit of let down, to be honest.
On the other hand I'm not sure you're telling the truth here. I know you have a reason to lie. What happens in the pub stays in the pub. ()

My avatar is a picture of me, at Christmas we have a fancy dress competition, and our team chose Star Wars as a theme, which is why I'm dressed as a Jedi.
My profile background (of me and another Jedi battling against Emperor Palpetine) is from the same day, we have graphic design guys in our team, so one of the guys (Palpetine) added force lightning and effects to the photo.

My avatar comes from the Candybar paper doll maker, I think. It looks like me, more or less.

I don't want a profile picture but I hated the ugly color in Discourse's auto-assigned one. I generally don't set profile pictures for anything, I just don't seem to like them I guess. So this one came from a GIS for "default profile picture" or something like that.
-
Awww
-
Mine was a random image someone posted here that I cropped, and then @abarker hatted it.
I don't have a profile page picture because I'm too lazy.
-
Mine is a screenshot from a hilarious music video by a Norwegian comedy group Ylvis:
-
Mine is a photo of a letter opener, which is modelled after a sword that first appeared in warcraft III: http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Frostmourne
-
I redid my disco avi with a custom font.
My profile background is from one of the nostalgia threads.

Aunt Velma, she never married.
Probably because she was too busy running with that group in that van, solving mysteries that almost always ended up being the result of an embittered gardener in a dime-store Hallowe'en costume
