Because it requires a third party service, instead of direct integration with the forum you already use?

Because it requires a third party service, instead of direct integration with the forum you already use?It doesn't require a third party service.
It offloads the thing you're asking for to a third party service that can be trusted and that you don't need to have any interaction between the forum and it.

Google denied my request to hook up to their OAuth provider
We've never had a problem before, Google must be doing something wrong
I don't believe in bugs unless they're confirmed by multiple independent sources.

Multicolor is impossible with fonts (mostly — there are technical ways it can work in some rare cases, but this is highly dependent on the operating system) so this will take quite some time to work out.
This took my best engineers a total of 750 man-hours to come up with, but I have a solution:
Use a fucking PNG

Or an APNG. But animated or not, I'm pretty sure a Rule 34 variation of the Google logo won't meet Google's branding rules.

Strangely enough, I can't seem to find a whole lot of the Google Logo R34'd. Plenty of Chrome, but not the logo itself...
Edit: And apparently Google is a cat that's colored black:

Google's specification literally gives you the images to use. It's almost baffling he's even talking about using FA when it's not compliant even if it was possible.
It's irrelevant if no-one's reported an issue before when it still isn't compliant with the specification.Can you imagine if it was the other way around and someone wasn't complying with one of his DiscoSpecifications?

But serving a static image is so Web 1.0; it's definitely not technology for the next 10 years.

I imagine there are probably discoursistencies that make it impossible to comply fully with all DiscoSpecifications

Maybe they'll implement something that serves every possible bitmap graphic, creating and caching it on the fly? Pass it a bunch of, say, hex data and poof graphic!
-
Seriously, they couldn't have made it any easier, and Jeff still finds a way to make it impossible.

Reddit is horrible (because it doesn't have me, of course). Spend your time on your Discourse forum instead, that way you can limit all those horrible communicators.

I need to build a garden wall. To do so, I will need exactly 30 bricks.
{goes to Home Depot in a 2001 Honda Civic, loads trunk with 30 bricks}
{builds wall}
Oh, that's pretty.
Hey, neighbour, nice wall. Can I hire you to do a wall for me, also?
and me and me and me and me and me....{goes to Home Depot in a 2001 Honda Civic, starts loading skid after skid of bricks into the trunk, the back seat, the roof, the glovebox--}
Uh, hi, sir, you've got a lot of bricks here.
I'm building 20 garden walls!
Are you building them all-- right now?
No, just one each weekend over the summer.
So maybe just get the ones you need now, and come back later for the next batch, and so forth?
Fuck off with your antiquated ways of building, you sniveling shitweasle. They're hundreds of years old. THIS is the right wa--
{car blows out all tires, crushes rims, ruins the suspension and cracks the steering column}
That was {counts} 120 bricks. Well, obviously we can never build more than 4 walls.
at a time?
NEVER. MORE. THAN. 4. WALLS!
{goes back to neighbors}
Okay, everyone. More than four walls are no longer safe. So I can build 3 more (mine included), and the rest of you will need to either wait until I revisit this, or buy a new home somewhere else.

I object to the use of a heart for the HD employee. That implies that someone might flirt with Jeff.

@DoctorJones said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):
Erm, if all the private keys are on the server, I don't think it's as "technically impossible" as you think.
Especially not when the implementation sends ALL the private keys at once for each encrypted message.

I found nothing relevant but there was a page about what different colours of period blood mean, so thanks for that

I asked Google - they didn't know either. Or at least they didn't supply me with anything that seemed both cromulent and relevant.

So I decided I should try setting up a local instance of Mastodon for fun.
It's written in Ruby on Rails. [Movie-style PTSD flashbacks of Discourse]
Except this thing has like a billion first-party guides for installing it in different ways.

He's not closing bug reports and feature requests. He's only closing support questions, which belong on the support forum.

would you put a long-running discussion about the viability of solar power in the bug tracker for Minecraft, or would that be better off in the off-topic section of the forum?

But at least I can get free karma by providing new answers to 3 year old posts
Look, man, I have to keep my deletion skills sharp somehow!

"Why isn’t the Discourse team implementing a real ticket system by default?"
No longer welcome here.

@boomzilla
Well, I guess that'll be another broken link in this thread

So, in other words: delete old history so we can rehash past discussions again?
Or, delete topics so the database stays small and performant?
