I'm still waiting for them to bring out a replacement for the org chart tool that ended after Windows 3.
There are partial replacements in Outlook, PowerPoint, and (intended replacement) Visio. If you were lucky enough to be in Japan for a specific few years, there was also InterConnect.

Now, bets on Netflix making a series about an altar cleaner (something like The Cleaner or the original Der Tatortreiniger ). "Reconsecrator"?

GTA apparently had some sort of re-re-re-re-(...)-release. Second article on /. in the past few days:
This after they apparently had to pull the game because it shipped with source for some scripts and with media/music that they no longer had a license for.

Unpopular Opinion #1: Removing the Hot Coffee minigame from GTA:SA makes it a better game. Hot Coffee is the same minigame as the dance and lowrider minigames that appear in SA, just with a more controversial skin on it. The minigame is dumb in all three cases.
Unpopular Opinion #2: This remaster should have included Hot Coffee as DLC. The point of this collection is that these are seminal games that are important in the history of gaming, right? Leaving out Hot Coffee leaves out an important part of that story. It's not like anybody is buying this for their children and are unaware of what Grand Theft Auto is at this point, right?

No, actually; it's a completely different minigame with completely different controls. Still nowhere near as fun as it sounds.

Looking at the released product, the only goal was clearly to make money with minimal effort. Except for graphics, they barely changed anything at all.

@HardwareGeek most other companies care. At least a little. Some even care a lot. For example, this weekend From Software has done a network test of their new game - a very limited time free demo available to everyone - just to see how well the servers will handle the load. Ubisoft, one of those bad big corpos everyone loves to hate, recently released Far Cry 6, a mostly bug-free, very polished product that really tried to mix up the gameplay from previous games in the series to not seem stale. Even Cyberpunk 2077, the last year's worst launch ever, was a good game with very well written story.
GTA remaster is a whole new level of no fucks given. There's no other event in recent gaming history that comes even close to it. Rockstar is literally the worst of the worst. Dismissing their fuckup as "the whole industry is like that" covers up the true scale of the fuckup, shields Rockstar from consequences of their actions, and disincentivises other developers from caring. It's like leaving a comment under an article about Anders Breivik's massacre from 2011, saying "what's the big deal, people die everyday".

Well, it's a race to the bottom and looks like they managed to take a lead.

What did you try to get that impression? Or were you just into speedrunning the main questline on a PS4? (The best parts were definitely in some of the side missions, which had some truly excellent storytelling. And the initial release ran pretty well on my PC even if I couldn't turn on all the graphical features…)
-
@GuyWhoKilledBear From what I remember, the minigame was never officially accessible either way. It had always shipped disabled and you needed to mod the game to enable it.
I kinda dig the DLC idea. But the idea is probably too ballsy for a big corp.
I never really got into any of the GTA games to begin with, spend a few hours here and there at best (the most I ever played was a GTA was GTA 2 multiplayer). I don't particularly remember any minigames, but the fewer unfun minigames the better.

PC with graphics maxed out, finished every sidequest in the game (except two that got bugged). Haven't noticed any great story telling. Occasional good characterization or well structured dialog couldn't help when drowning in an ocean of crap.

If you finished the whole game and every side quest, it couldn't have been that bad.
