Continuing the discussion from (In)Activity:
I want to get back into this forum but Jesus fuck. Most threads have no fewer than two hundred unread posts and many are upwards of a thousand.
Oh. and you guys are still finding Discourse bugs? What a surprise.
Filed under: Ain't nobody got time for that.
Hey, @Error! Long time! How's it going?
-
Why did I get pinged for this one? WTF? I even checked raw and there is nothing in there that I should have been notified for?
-
Uuuuh .... @Discoursebot!!

@abarker - Days Since Last Discourse Bug: null
-
Certainly not a hanzo edit that changed before my eyes. Looked like the same bug that @RaceProUK ran into earlier, where Discourse decides that you're continuing lots of conversations
-
Alright, who manages @Discoursebot? He's got his lines mixed up. "Days since last Discourse Bug" should return a number. returning null on that on is a bug. "Last Day without a Discobug" is the one that should return null.
-
It probably has something to do with the font size bug too, somehow.

You're claiming a Hanzo edit? Got any proof? :ninja:
@PJH: we need to find a ninja emoji

Would that be the Royal 'we'?

@loopback0
and while you're at it get him to update the sockbot code. he's running an old version.

missed an opportunity there to tell @abarker that PRs are accepted. ;-)
-
Means me figuring out how to accept them...

github makes it easy. you juct click a button.
the hard part is making the PR in the first place! ;-)

Try looking at the raw of the post to which you replied.

ok, so you already knew. still @loopback0 needs to upgrade
@abarker - Days Since Last Discourse Bug: <i>null</i>
<!-- Posted by SockBot 0.13.0 "Devious Daine" on Tue Dec 16 2014 16:40:29 GMT+0000 (UTC)-->
0.15.1 Zany Zoe is latest! not 0.13.0 Devious Daine!

still doesn't mean that @loopback 0 needs to upgrade
So he doesn't need to upgrade?

It's not "fractured syntax". You left out a word.
-
..... which word did i out?

null was removed, then added back by request.

well as it stands your bots can't be muzzled by TL4+ users via PM in the case of a spammer abusing them
also @pjh can't summon them because of a discobug that the new code works around.
so needs to.
not life or death needs to, more like car needs a new coat of paint needs to.

..... which word did i out?
<empty post my ass

i like my fix better.

null was removed, then added back by request.
Null doesn't make sense with "Days since last". Makes it seem like there have never been any discobugs, which we all know isn't true.
On the other hand, null makes lots of sense for "Last day without" since there have never been any days without discobugs.
If people can't tell the difference between the two, they need a new English parsing module.

well IIRC we can also get it to say days since last as -1....

That should be handled for and still read "0". Sounds like a bug in DiscourseBot.
-
Last day without a Discobug: Unhandled exception in Discoursebot.GetNonErrorDay NullReferenceException was unhandled by your application
-
Sounds like a bug in DiscourseBot.
nah. we* put that in on purpose. much like if you ask sockbot to roll dice in a PM and ask for negative numbers of dice or a negative number of sides for the dice.
- and by we i mean i asked for it and loopback0 added it to the list of phrases the bot could use.
-
Bookmarked so I can change it next time I log in to EC2 which requires being at home.
-

Static strings, no maths any more. Was by request.
-
-
I meant the -1was by request, rather than the lack of maths.

That's Discourse for you. It's so bad, it corrupts nearby entities.

I love how you went from D to Z in just two versions!
:)

i've been following the Greek letter progression. it's back to 'E' for Eta (or possibly H based on the eta glyph. havent decided)
-
And here I was hoping you were being discourcant...
-
i assume you meant discoursistent... nope. just WTFy
-
...using greek basis is geeky/nerdy/cool,
not WTFy at all.
-
cool it is then!
-
Makes it seem like there have never been any discobugs, which we all know isn't true.
I've always assumed it meant "less than zero" in the sense that "what, another one already?"
-

FYI, setting input language to EL Greek (Greece), Η/η corresponds to the key that produces H/h in En English (United States), if that makes any difference in your decision.

my luck with the thesaurus will likely guide my decision more than proper etemology
