Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 will be free from April 24 til May 10th for Steam, PS4, and XBox One. Deals aren't live at the time of posting for Steam (it'll go live at 10am Pacific) and PS4 (at least in the US, supposed to go live at 10am Pacific as well, but it is live in the UK now):
The PS4 and Microsoft Store links are Bandai Namco short links, which might direct you to the right store based on locale/location.
-
Total War: Shogun 2 will be free from April 27 (at 10am Pacific) til May 1.
-
@ChaosTheEternal It's been 15 minutes and though is says save 100%, the price is still not zero.
What a ripoff.
-
@Zecc Yeah, I don't get it either. Apparently their FAQ linked from Steam says the deal starts at 18:00 BST, which differs from the source I found it from, and the Steam page shows obvious confusion.

18:00 BST = 10:00 Pacific
-
@Zecc I'm not gonna lie, but the combination of working from home for the past month plus time zones and DST dumbness, I mathed the time wrong.
-
Two keys for Spellbreak. Closed Beta on Epic.
Can also be requested by joining the beta on the site, the keys just skip waiting.

battle royale RPG
OK, what am I missing? Because that sounds inherently contradictory. An RPG is a strongly story-driven game, while a battle royale game has no plot or narrative progression, just a bunch of players running around PVPing each other.
-
@Mason_Wheeler It's a fantasy battle royale.
-
@loopback0 Then they should say that. I've seen Star Wars RPGs. I've seen Mass Effect. I've seen RPGs set in a fictionalized version of the modern world. RPG != fantasy.
-
@Mason_Wheeler OK.
I don't think the concept of role playing but for the duration of a battle royale game is that inconceiveable. This isn't doing it though so no idea why they put a term in the onebox that the website doesn't use.Classic TDWTF pendantry aside, it's a fun game.

I knew 18:00 BST = 10:00 PT because:
1. I searched for Pacific in time.is to know when it was, because I had no idea;
b. I'm on BST myself;
Ⅲ. as it happened, it was about 17:40 BST.

Uplay is currently giving away Assassin's Creed II, Child of Light and Rayman Legends on PC
-
@hungrier I'd get it but I really really really don't want to download Uplay.

Come on! Who doesn't have a dozen game stores, launchers, and updaters nowadays?

Only GOG and Steam (which I never actually run) here.
-
@MrL The GOG launcher? Why?

I don't know if I understand the question. To keep games organized, for access to extras, for achievements sometimes.
-
-
@MrL I figured if you don't like additional launchers, why go out of your way to install one that's not mandatory?
Personally I only have Steam and Uplay, and install my gog games like any other non-launcher game
Oh, and Elite Dangerous. It's got its own launcher and updater

I don't like other launchers because they are crap, they just irritate me.
Gog Galaxy I actually like. It's not overloaded with features I wouldn't use anyway. Interface is clean and easy.Same thing with stores. I can't stand Steam for example.

That's for sure. They focused so much on social, being a combined launcher, and the new look while dropping features from the older version that they made almost everything worse.

I use 2.0 since closed beta, I like it better than 1.x.
Social features don't get in my face, I don't even know what they are. Steam games are now merged with all the rest, so I don't have to run Steam client at all.

The Game Theorists played it of you wanna know how crappy it is/n't:
-
@Tsaukpaetra 9 minutes in and all I've seen is banter, the main menu and a loading sequence...
-
Wizardry 9 for 90% off; Wizardry 7 + 8 are also cheap.
-
@TwelveBaud said in Game Deals Thread:
Grabbed this one. Good deal, even for the subset of games I'm likely to actually play.

@TwelveBaud said in Game Deals Thread:
WOOOOOOOOOT the best bundle I've ever seen! And it just so happens I was hunting for Deus Ex (2000) anyway. I've never had a chance to try Rise of the Tomb Raider, and I liked the first one very much. Plus all the other Tomb Raiders and Deus Exes, and Just Causes and Thieves and assorted weirdness for when I get bored.

They do take a while to actually get into the games most times...
-
Aaaand done. I've already had Sleeping Dogs, so it deducted some of the price for me - doesn't really matter, but still nice. Apparently, the bundle contains 113 items; together with DLCs, I've bought 40 Tomb Raiders.
-
I had most of the older Tomb Raider games, as well as all the Just Cause games.
This is still lots of extra games (most of which I'll never play), plus some DLC I don't have for JC3, plus Rise of the Tomb Raider with Season Pass for less than the cost of Rise of Tomb Raider with Season Pass.
-
I had previously bought/activated/etc
- Some (but not all) Thief games, including the first two
- Some (but not all) Deus Ex games
- The two Tomb Raider games from the giveaway a little while ago
- Just Cause 2 and DLC (must've been in a bundle)
- Legacy of Kain series
-
I jumped in too.
I had the Tomb Raiders, but not all the Deus Ex or Thief games. A lot of it is DLCs for games I already had.
-
Adding to the madness, I bought two Humble Bundles this weekend:
Our old Thursday night board game group has been getting together online for the last month or so. This bundle should give us more options.
I already own almost all of the older Sierra games in multiple forms, but this is the first time I bought them digitally. There's a few other games in there I've never played before, though.
There's also this free game:
They might run out of codes, though.

What, no
?
-
@Zecc it's selling too well to go on sale.
-

It doesn't have online multiplayer and (according to reviews) no longer works with Steam's Remote Play Together feature.

@Parody
Have you tried Tabletopia?
-
@MrL said in Game Deals Thread:
@Parody
Have you tried Tabletopia?Not really. I thought I'd tried it a long time ago, but I don't have an account for it listed in my password file. I made an account and tried to try it out, but it keeps telling me that there was an "Error setting up your room."
The review sites seem to indicate it's a buggy Tabletop Simulator with less copyright violations.

Weird. I used Tabletopia many times and never had such problems.
Oh, did you use steam-bundled-desktop-client? I play only through browser.

Doesn't this belong to the "off by one" thread?
(For those unfamiliar with Wizardry series: Wizardry 8 is the last one, and the combo sold together is 6+7).

Yes, I hear they've started a viral campaign.
