umm....... why is this post rendering blank?cause it wasn't supposed to:
aww... i was expecting there to be a hidden comment causing @boomzilla's post to be italic.... i was disappoint

Interesting: I was in raw view when you ninja edited that, and the raw button now toggles between the original raw and what you have now, that actually displays
-
Fuck off and mind your own business.
"That excuse may work, too, under some circumstances," he blandly replied.

The wife brought home Jimmy Johns for dinner tonight. I always order a #9, she always orders a #6, they always write the numbers on the wrappers but never realize that without underscores it does not help us at all.
FTW, the only time they have done it, they either misnamed them or put the lines on top of the numbers.
-
Fuck off and mind your own business.
Sounds like something I would say. Or, I have actually said this one:
"Want me to get you a cup of coffee?"
"No thank you."
"You don't want coffee?"
"No, it is just somehow you always seem to fuck up 'black coffee', so I will get it myself."
"Yeah...you need coffee."
-
so
xaɐx
osWith lojban there would be no problems.
Actually, with English there would be no problems either. six xı̣s nine əuı̣u.

I always order a #9, she always orders a #6,
You could just combine them and have some fun. ;)
-
I said my wife, not my girlfriend. Some things don't happen after they move from one column to the other.

That does not match my experience with my ex — until the marriage fell apart, anyway.

If you order online, you can assign a name to each sandwich, which they'll write on it instead.
FWP from a few weeks back: Jimmy John's decided my address doesn't exist anymore, despite ordering from them roughly weekly. It mysteriously came back a couple weeks later though.

I needed some NOISE ISOLATING earbuds for under <$30. I don't care about whether the bass is good or not or crap like that. So I went to amazon.com and went to the NOISE ISOLATING earplugs category.
What do I find? In most products, no fucking mention on the description OR customer questions OR customer reviews (other than the occasional "filters most noise bretty good" in the 5th page) on whether the NOISE ISOLATION IS FUCKING GOOD OR NOT.
-
The minimum price I know of is about $100, Shure has some models designed to be in-ear stage monitors that isolate pretty well.
-
Is that for active or passive noise isolating? Passive isn't as good but you should be able to get a pair for less than that
-
Passive, they have foam inserts that act just like ear plugs.
-
$100 for passive noise cancelation?
that's highway robbery!
-
It's Shure, and it's the professional audio/music market. Of course it's highway robbery.
-
You don't have too go to the professional market to get passive noise cancelling
-
You don't have too go to the professional market to get passive noise cancelling
a trip to your local Home Depot/Lowes will do the trick for that.

And not even halfway through my vacation yet...
-
We can hit that in a couple of days. Getting some work done is a barrier to staying up to date…
-
...over 200 posts nominally about Windows 10 alone...
Also, FWP: I don't have my ebay password, so I can't buy a broken Motorola Photon Q for parts for my broken phone until I get home in February.

My wife has covered the hotel pillow with tissues she brought from home to ensure she doesn't get a skin disease from contact with it. I'm... not sure that's a thing that can happen...

If it is... the tissues won't help much... :shudder:
-
The pillows but not the rest of the bedding?
-
I have to sleep in the same bed...
-
That would probably need quite a lot of tissues...

Is that a FWP? Seems like something I'd worry about (if at all) more in a third-world country.
-
I think the fact we're currently just outside London, UK qualifies it as FWP.

To anyone from London, just outside London is a third-world country.
-
I think I'm in Hayes.
-
Oh, you're inside the M25 then. That's still London, it's just not shit like central London.
I drove* past there a couple of weeks back.
*crawled slowly on the M25 in a car.

Hayes? If it is an airport hotel, it's probably awful. (I've stayed in a few round there; used to work on a project with a company near there.)
-

They're not all awful at Heathrow.
Hayes itself is quite nice though from memory.

OK, some are just not very nice.

Hayes Park isn't too bad. That's where our collaborator was. (Looks like Heinz have that building now as well…)

What sort of look would room service give you if they rolled in the trolley and saw the bed was completely covered in tissues?

They might be glad you at least made some attempt to clean up after yourself. I'm pretty sure those people have seen it all.

First world problem: gray langurs stole some carrots and potatoes from my dwarves. Like five each. How does this thing steal five potatoes?

-
Your dwarves should feed them to the carp...
-
Look at the bright side, you won't have to get out of bed to get some tissues to clean "that"
-
Now, I am trying to browse what.tdwtf over LHR free wifi on some awful Samsung phone. It's an experience akin to watching soup coagulate.

Dwarf Fortress graphics have really improved since you last posted a screenshot. Or is that a mod?
-
I keep thinking about getting back into DF, but every time I do, Ben posts a screenshot showing ridiculous combat involving individual knuckles being broken and I think I don't want to deal with that level of detail. The game was a lot "simpler" around 0.30.
-
0.30 wasn't a released version.

If you're playing adventure mode, just get a spear and stab people in the throat. Even if they knock you unconscious, they'll die from blood loss before they get a chance to do anything, assuming you hit an artery.
-

That's why I said "around". Instead, let's say the .22/.28 timeframe, roughly, or "a little before they added that 3d viewer".
-
-
You don't have to worry about the detail in combat at all, then. All of it is just color-coded reports. You don't get to tell them what body part they should be targeting or anything like that.

Ah, excellent, perhaps I'll d/l the latest this weekend. I like the core fortress mode gameplay. I don't want to get buried in an excess of tedious MM (ha ha, yes, everyone get your "that's all DF is!" jokes in now).
I'd love to see Minecraft borrow some ideas, at a high level, from DF.
