And how do you know the exact time the fire started so well? ...
Yeah, okay, I screwed up with that one :/

They don't.

@topspin some, I assume, are good timezones.

Actually I'm pretty sure I messed up the conversion. But it's somewhere in that range.

There are fine timezones on both sides
-
Anyway, it started at 18:50 local time according to the wiki page that nobody in this topic has ever seen, which is 12:50 in the One True Time Zone.
Also,
Not sure I would classify this as a "renovation"

Fun fact: my HP printer likes to flex every few hours. No idea what for.
-
@Tsaukpaetra You should move the gun a bit farther away from it, just to be safe

@hungrier said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Because the fire started during renovation and likely was caused by it?

@hungrier said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

It's the first step in renovations: tear the old thing down

Other (not so funny) samples:
The number of chevrons inside the arrow is also somewhat indicative.

@Tsaukpaetra I saw some of those others. But without magic, they're not funny (as you noted!)

-
@Tsaukpaetra the old laserjet we had used to do "calibration" occasionally.

@Tsaukpaetra
Laserjets tend to keep the fuser at a certain minimum temperature so that the first page out can be fairly consistent in delay. There might be a setting to disable that (and thus reduce the power usage of the printer), but I don't remember what it would be called

But I doubt keeping it warmed up should cause it to shuffle about every four hours...
-
@Tsaukpaetra
Yeah, pre-heating definitely does cause periodic shuffling. The fuser heating process basically initiates the print process up to the point where it actually pulls a piece of paper to do things. Who knows, maybe they were trying to conserve code

@kazitor By free association it reminded me that I always wondered: Dick is a dirty word, but it is also a common alias for
RobertRichard that nobody seems to find offensive. I think I've heard at least one similar case. So Americans should be well used to words only being offensive in context. Why then are now so many words considered offensive always—with this one or two traditional exceptions?Edit: I keep mixing those names.
