I was once a treehouse, I lived in a cake
but I never saw the way the orange slayed the rake
I was only three years dead, but it told the tale
and now listen little child to the safety railGot THAT one right at least.

There's one more verse before that, but yes.

And temperament. I don't know if ours was just psycho, but it was really aggressive.
From what I read, they should only behave that way toward other llamas. If they're mishandled — overly socialized towards humans when they are young, or deprived of the companionship of other llamas (they're herd animals) — they'll treat people they way they would other llamas. Like any animal, they may also become aggressive if they're mistreated, but I'll assume you didn't do that. If you had a llama, I'd guess it was the lack of other llamas that was the issue.
-
Could be, we only had one llama and had it since it was pretty young. They actually chase coyotes so ours was a sort of cattle guardian.
-
cattle guardian
Ah, I saw an article saying that a single llama is better than more than one for that. If you have more than one, they tend to socialize with each other and may ignore the animals you want them to guard, rather than bonding with and protecting the herd. Just don't be surprised if they act a little unbalanced, I guess.

Really, I'm more surprised at how civilized those discussions are. They're more polite than the climate debate!

For some, the climate debate is just a 3rd theological discussion.

indeed. this surprises me too

this however seems par for the course.

Ah, I saw the OP, but I didn't follow the link, and I have 31 unread posts in that topic.

Even better than that, we've got a new prospective client who sell hard drives and similar. Potential for some pretty good freebies

Two? What topic is the other one in?
I didn't see either of them. I see that one is on their G+ page, where is the other one at?

I think it was in the Likes thread for a while.

The one thread I avoid.

Yep.

I think it was in the Likes thread for a while.
A while? Last I checked the discussion in there (when I posted an hour ago), we were still discussing some of the reasons why the Old Testament has more vengeance and retribution than the New Testament.

Llama, it starts with two Ls.
How did the conversation get this far without anyone mentioning this classic sketch?

Status: Broke phone on toilet this morning. Backlight cut out. 1 month from end of Verizon contract.
I was going to jump ship. I still am. Of course, now I need to go find an AT&T store that actually has a Nexus 6 in stock. And then pay an ETF that's likely to exceed my remaining VZW bill. Fuck.
-
Holy crud, the Nexus 6 isn't a phone, it's a table.
Yes, a table. Not a tablet.
-
hardware guy gave me two 8GB chips
Misleading packaging, it was an 8GB double pack, i.e. two 4GB sticks. Still tripled my memory to 12GB though, so not bad for free. Now I just need a graphics card that doesn't freeze the entire computer as soon as I put any load on it, a bit shit for a gaming pc
-
And then pay an ETF that's likely to exceed my remaining VZW bill. Fuck.
Why not go buy a cheap prepaid VZ phone to get you through the last month? You can get an LG Optimus ZOne 2, whatever that is, for $40-50, dependin on which page (I saw both prices, one after the other, on two successive pages. Go figure.
-
Yes, a table. Not a tablet.
Bah. Huge phones are awesome.
A Note 2 will fit perfectly fine in an average shirt pocket with room to spare.
-
If the number port didn't trigger an automatic cancellation, I'm just going to pay the gorram bill until end of contract.
And the $40-50 for a prepaid phone would bump my total cost over that of the ETF.
-

No, you call them up and tell them your phone's broken, here's the new phone's ESN, and you want to use it until your contract runs out. Unless your ETF's less than $40, which you sort of implied it was larger.
With AT&T you don't even have to call them, you just swap out the SIM card. WIth VZ or Sprint, because there's no SIM, you have to call them and tell--technically ask if you can--use a differetn phone to finish your contract. They shouldn't give you any trouble about it.
-
Option 1) ETF (~$140)
Option 2) Remaining 2 months bill ($120) + burner phone.
-
Ah, yeah, that makes sense.
-
If the number port didn't trigger an automatic cancellation, I'm just going to pay the gorram bill until end of contract.
and this is the exact reason that I use Google Voice.
i have NFC what my cell phone number is (i could look it up if i needed) but i know a number that always gets to me regardless of where i am!
and if you tick me off enough to make me leave then i can without needing a burner phone or an ETF.
i just swap SIM cards, repoint Google Voice to the new number and call it a day. ;-)
can you tell i got burned on a contract once?

Assuming that most of your shirts have pockets ...

Assuming that most of your shirts have pockets ...
Naw. If it'll fit in a shirt pocket, it'll fit in most pants pockets. If you don't have either, well, I guess you need a man-purse.
-
it'll fit in most pants pockets.
ahem
not for half of the people on this planet.
for some reason designers thing all a woman only needs to store a toothpick in her pants pockets....
-glares at clothing designers-
I HAVE A PHONE TOO!
AND NO A PURSE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR POCKETS!
-
can you tell i got burned on a contract once?
Vaguely related to why I paid 700 bucks and outright bought the phone.
-
not for half of the people on this planet.
Nonsense. If you could find a pair of women's pants with pockets, the phone would fit. The fact that you don't isn't relevant to whether the phone fits or not. If you can stick it in a pocket, it's not too big. (@algorythmics, I'll keep setting 'em up if you wanna keep hitting 'em.)
Also, you can take the "man-" out of the very next sentence I posted, and it will apply. Or you could get a gun burka. Lots of other options.
-
I'm on my way to a night out with a lady friend. I will attempt to get my enormous phone in her pants for science.
-
If you could find a pair of women's pants with pockets, the phone would fit.
I challenge you to find a pair from a top designer that have pockets correctly sized and placed so that you can put the phone in them and have it fit comfortably.
go on. i'll wait.
EDIT: or we can wait for Weng to submit his scientific report
-
I challenge you to find a pair from a top designer
I'm not sure to go with "just get some Levis" or "I'm not a woman so it isn't my problem."
Surely there's plans for a well-fitting pair that has pockets. Making your own clothes isn't actually that hard. (I have, in fact, made one or two items of clothing, and I have an aunt who grew up poor and made most of her kids' clothes.)
-
I will attempt to get my enormous phone in her pants for science.
Excellent. Make sure you tell her why.
