Apparently it's gained enough data to suggest..... myself.
Well great...Whenever social networks do this, I am like "oh no! they are on to me!".

The popcorn scene is the absolute zenith of surreal filmmaking. Move over, Un Chien Andalou.
The bit where the kid pisses on the food was pretty hilarious, followed by the most wooden scene ever when the dad tightens his belt. Truly a great in the genre of bad films.
My wife came home halfway through and asked if I thought I'm wasting my life. She disagreed that it's the same as watching soap operas, then read Facebook on her phone

First, it's not a Mega Drive game: the Mega Drive wouldn't be able to handle the amount of colours used.
And second, because, for once, it's a genuinely great Sonic game, which hasn't happened for about 23 years.
-

It's telling that the Sonic game that finally satisfies the fanbase is the one that's mostly reviewed as "well, it's not worse than Sonic 1".
I know the game industry has been de-evolving for a while, but come on. After 23 years and several hardware generations and paradigm shifts, I'd think it's going to take more to please the fans than just making the same game all over again.
-
@maciejasjmj I think it's more telling of Sonic Team's inability to make a good game. They've been trying to make great 3D Sonic games since 1998, with quality ranging from the good-but-lacking-in-depth Colors and Generations, to the badly flawed but enjoyable Adventure games, to the utter trainwreck that is Sonic 06. And their 2D efforts have been lamentable too: Sonic 4 is an embarrassment.
But the first time they trust fangame makers with the Sonic IP? Best game since 1994, and by a sizeable margin.

And one that looks like it's from 1994 ,save for the price tag. If you're a fan of the franchise then maybe it's justifiable to shell out $20 for a mission pack sequel since by now you know the vintage games by heart, but for me it's ridiculous to pay that much for a game that's almost as good as Sonic 3 when I could just play Sonic 3.
It's fine to do retro as long as you recognize which parts of it add to the charm and which ones need QoL improvements. Judging by the reviews, the devs of this game decided to just not bother and lift everything from the 90s.

No, I don't know how she managed to get to vegas in a day without flying either.... and i'm not going to ask. I find it's better if i don't know how she does what she does.... Fewer answers the police can get out of me that way. Much less chance of being acceessory.

@accalia
But I thought you were already @Perverted_Vixen's accessory

@maciejasjmj There is a lot of fanservice, I'll admit. But at least it's worked into the game properly, rather than being there for the sake of it.

The thing is, the Sonic genre has been innovated-- by the two most recent Rayman games.
Strangely, this Sonic game largely ignores that in favor of being Sonic 2 all over again. Sure, we all loved Sonic 2. But... look at all the stuff Rayman's done, guys.

Why not use a HashMap or a TreeMap?

Status: We obviously have an asocial asshole living in our appartments. Pretty much all of my neighbours are great people. Except for this guy which he exemplified today.
So, the street leading up to our houses is a dead-end road which has a "Stopping expressly forbidden on Wednesday morning" on one side because otherwise the garbage disposal truck won't be able to reach the waste bins.
Last week someone parked there with two cars and today the same two cars parked there again. Which means that our waste bin has been full for two weeks now.
I was able to talk to that guy when he finally moved his car (singular, as in: only one) and he basically is an asshole: He doesn't care, he scoffs at the piddly fines and he thinks he's the greatest.
Well, he obviously forgot that he doesn't own his appartment but is only a renter. And the company who rents the appartments doesn't really care about pulling those stunts.
Small addendum: I found out that if you accrue a number of parking tickets the responsible governmental agency may just decide to call into question your ability to drive. They may then order you to undergo a mandatory psychological check (called the MPU which is colloquially known as the Morons' Test) which is not easy (in fact. 50% of attendees fail it).
And if you fail that test your driving license is gone. At least until you manage to pass the test.
-

no, he got scared when @Perverted_Vixen jumped out of the box to greet me, then he got back in his truck and drove straight off a bridge onto a set of traintracks just before two trains went by going in opposite directions.
Don't worry though. He's fine. it's just the front half of his truck is now in Boston and the back half is in Montreal.

just a bit dizzy. the drivers seat fit just perfectly between the trains, though because it was a 360 degree spinner it did build up to a really impressive RPM before the trains passed. took him ten minutes to slow to a stop. and a further twenty to stop hurling long enough to start swearing.

Status: It's late, and it is thundering and raining hard.
Also, that trainwreck of a turd of awful code I've been looking at for the past couple of weeks is getting to the point where I can begin to contemplate converting it into a language other than C++. I've deleted so much stupid crap from it, getting rid of lots of weird bits and pieces of anti-pattern and unwanted features, but it still has weird moments of codethulhu-ness. It isn't very reassuring to hear that the maintenance of this thing was something attempted by most of my colleagues and that they invariably decided to run screaming from it; I really guess that I must be made of sterner stuff or something…

I need to figure out how to get to the debugging things for Windows kernel in QEMU so I can see why it's just locking up the CPU instead of actually booting which makes me confuzzled.
