Finally gave in to my hankering to try out the chupaqueso recipe from Shlock Mercenary. I'm somewhat afraid this might become a regular part of my diet because damn, this is good. Nobody tell my mum about it 'K?
I had bread and butter with it so it's not really so different from a cheese sandwich right?

It looks like the Crater's Pupdate took out the UI for launching "Disk Cleanup" if you right click a drive in Windows Explorer and choose Properties.
But you can still get the same GUI tool, as long as you search for it in the Start Menu.
How does a change like that breaking people's muscle memory get from -100 to 0 in terms of feature value???First of all:
(Yes, that's on Creator's Update.)
Secondly, you use Disk Cleanup SO MUCH that it's muscle-memory? Jesus, my entire PC's on a 500 GB SSD and I don't use it that often.

Hm, I could swear it used to be under the tools tab...Guess my memory is worse than I thought
And since Windows 10 went to the "reinstall your OS" service pack model, disk space in the VMs I use to connect to client networks has gotten a lot tighter. I'm on the list for a hard drive enhancement on my base laptop, but in the mean time

I have never seen a "chip explode" in my life. I've seen a UPS spit out forks of lightning (that was really fucking scary), capacitors explode, some complete fucking muppet bring a server cabinet crashing down on its side (They never found his body), power supplies melt (And someone drop a screwdriver into a PSU being tested case free) but I've never seen a "chip explode"
Electronics gore? I can accommodate...
Okay, I dunno if you'd call it a "chip"... I think it's a transistor. Chips have transistors in them, right? Close enough? I think so.

Either that or they don't know how to grill food. Grilling rubber tires is funnier though.
-
@RaceProUK I meant, I think that what exploded was one of those power transistors. As far as I can tell. There's a fair bit of other carnage, though, as evidenced by the fact that it melted the lead to that socket, and blew its corresponding trace right off the PCB... there's a pretty good chance that one of those diodes and whatever else all blew and added to the general chaos.

This is also how I make grilled cheese now. Panini press out; butter the bread and toast both sides. Then add shredded cheese to the grill until it melts and gets crisp. Instead of flipping to make a shell, scoop it up, lay it on the bread, then put sammie aside to cool and seal.

and blew a little crater out of every NAND flash chip in the SSD
I have an old phone line modem that's got a nice huge crater blown in the main chip. Turns out, lighting struck the phone line and tried to enter the computer via the modem. Somehow, nothing else was damaged, but it left quite the impressive scorch mark on a piece of metal on the other side of the modem. Needless to say, the modem did not work properly after that...

we are now fostering a Pit Bull mix puppy.
Back story on this: Our big veterinary client has one super small practice which is basically just a way for the wife of one of the owners to stay busy. It never really makes any money, and is in a really shitty part of the city. As a consequence of that, occasionally they come in to a dog tied to the back door. This puppy way one of those.
So what was wrong with him? He had really bad diarrhea. That's it. It cleared up on its own with just good care and good food. No parvo or anything. This dog is super sweet (and super goofy, but he is a puppy), he seems to be house trained, he gets along well with kids and dogs and tonight he went right in to his crate and never made a peep. He is a really awesome dog, and some fuckhead tied him to the door of a vet office because he had diarrhea. He doesn't even have behavior issues and doesn't shit in the house.
We might keep him.

To be fair, that's one of the less-bad ways you can get rid of an unwanted pet. I can think of a lot of worse ways.

@Tsaukpaetra
https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/6bjtb1/ms_2012_r2_clusterfile_shares_serious_performance/Definitely effects at least certain Dell VRTX systems, causing them to gradually go unresponsive -- you lose RDP access, then they stop functioning as WFC cluster managers and all Hyper-V nodes on them become unavailable on the network.
We had to roll back the patch on an emergency basis so our Hyper-V host cluster would stop randomly dropping guests.

Alright, one reinstall later, we have installation! And it only takes about five minutes to boot! (considering it typically takes about 13 seconds on a Pentium 4 equivalent machine, that's not too bad!

I do a "Best of both worlds" sort of thing.
I first toast the bread, to make it nice and crispy. Then I add a pat of butter to a hot non-stick skillet and start assembling the grilled cheese on top of it. When it is time to flip, I add another pat of butter and flip over on top of it. When that side is done I add a little bit of shredded cheese to the pan and flip the sandwich on top of that and then repeat for the remaining side.
Nice toasty bread with a good crunch, melted cheese inside, good and buttery, with browned cheese on the outside.
I got the idea for the cheese outside from Chef John:
-
For grilled cheese I grew up learning to butter the bread then put it on our griddle pan. For a long time I'd use 2 slice of american. Lately I've taken to 1 slice american, 1 slice pepperjack, and pepperoni slices in the middle. Family likes it at least.
-
I've never had a grilled cheese sandwich. They don't exist in Europe. We have cheese on toast, or we have toasted sandwiches.

hmm. good progress on removing plastic byproducts from your sandwich, now to replace that other slice of plastic. Can i recommend a good mild cheddar as a substitute?

The voltage converters are usually a pretty good target for that - after all, there's a reason they have those big heatsinks attached to them :)
