@anonymous234 Is that IE6?

@RaceProUK Yes :P I wanted to see if the forum worked on it (it doesn't, I can't sign in).

I've got a colleague who had that problem. Don't remember how he fixed it, but it seems a common enough problem.
Last time I had a bluetooth that got broke the only way to fix it was a root canal at the dentist GET IT BECAUSE TOOTH!?!?!
What's up with these kids and their Facespaces, amiright?

Status: Finally got a replacement certificate for my web server from Letsencrypt. It's quite difficult to do automated domain validation when the name service doesn't really support programmatic editing of the DNS records.
Luckily I think I pulled through, and from now on https-endpoint validation should work to renew, so ! (wtf is that, actually).

Given that it's IE6, not working right seems to me to be the exactly correct behaviour as it stops you from trying to do something BAD.
Like asking for support in NodeBB for IE6.

Technically it's supposed to be a scratch disk and storage for steam stuff.

Have to RSVP for a work outing by the end of the day. Meal out at an Indian restaurant.
I'm a picky eater and I can't do Indian restaurants, I don't expect to find anything other than bread and rice that I can eat, I don't know what the names of things mean and most Indian food IME is prepared so as to be very difficult to identify what it's made of even once you get it. And I don't want it to be awkward if everyone else is enjoying their meals and I'm just eating bread because I don't like anything. So I really don't want to go.
But, it's two colleagues' leaving do. So I really don't want to not go.

@CarrieVS Without knowing what allergies you may or may not have, I can't make a guaranteed successful recommendation, but a chicken korma could work quite well. The sauce is basically cream and coconut, there's very little spice, and it's generally pleasant, if a little bland.
-
@RaceProUK No allergies, just a picky eater and loosely vegetarian on top.
I've tried korma when I've been to an Indian before, and I can't stand it.

@CarrieVS Paneer tikka masala? Cheese in curry.
-
@CarrieVS bring a sandwhich (or whatever you like), say you are super-allergic, drink their beer and pay extra tips.
-
@JazzyJosh yeah, and tikka masala isn't usually very spicy IME -- if that's a concern.

If that is indeed an external drive and you're plugging it through USB extension cable or a non-powered hub, you may want to try plug it directly instead.
Certain external hard disks like those made by Imation are known to be underpowered when plug with USB extension cable. That's why on the case it also has socket for you to plug in AC transformer.

What's in it? Is it mushy? Is it yellow? Does it have any 'hot' spice in it (even if so little that a normal person wouldn't call the dish hot)? What does it taste like?

I also don't drink. Not for any moral or religious reasons, I just can't stand alcohol.

@CarrieVS ^beer^coke
Or ^beer^ovomaltine, if you prefer. Point is, join in with what you can.

@CarrieVS cube-ish blocks of cheese (slightly harder than extra-firm tofu consistency, I'd guess?) in an orange curry sauce, but typically not very hot spicy I don't think. Don't be too put off by the orange color... it comes from the turmeric and paprika, mostly, both of which are pretty mild; it'll have only small amounts of chilies (tikka masala sauce is actually a UK invention).
Quite a large number of Indians are vegetarian so I'd expect any Indian restaurant to have a pretty good selection. You'll find a number of dishes with tempura vegetables or cubes of paneer as the base.
This page has some good beginner-friendly descriptions.

The paneer (cheese) is firm, but not hard. The sauce is like a gravy, not really watery. Generally orange in color. I don't find it hot at all, but it does include some red pepper, so you might. It tastes creamy, savory, buttery.
My mom's the same way with heat for some reason. Any of us could say something isn't spicy and she would swear it was.

@JazzyJosh said in The Official Status Thread:
tikka masala
The problem with that is no two places do it the same: tikka masala is a poorly-defined and highly variable dish.
@CarrieVS said in The Official Status Thread:

It varies from place to place. It can be red, yellow, orange, and sometimes even grey. Some do it spicy, others do it mild. And both sauce and meat can be done to different heats. About the only thing you can guarantee is that the sauce will be tomato-based.
-
Yeah, that's true :/

@CarrieVS said in The Official Status Thread:

The vegetarian bit is easy to deal with (most places will do veggie variants) but the picky eater is tricky.

I can't stand the effects or the taste of alcohol.
And I don't like cola - of any brand - either. I'm not really keen on most soft drinks, I just get one so as not to look odd and it lasts me the whole evening.
