Oh, I see. Yeah, looks like it still "groups" the items when you ungroup...
edit: so when I drag a single item, it actually moves all of them.

Ahh, okay. And this differs between primary and secondary monitors?

Yes. Yes, we do.
You can control grouping in the task bar options - scroll down, it's under 'Multiple displays'
Not what I meant. And even if so, not what I meant.

and this:
???
If you guessed "The first is the "Primary Monitor" and the second is special because it's the "Not-Primary Monitor"", YOU'RE RIGHT!
Because we want different behaviours with our taskbars depending on whether they're PRIMARY or not!
Why is it so hard to say "Each visible window (that isn't a child of another window) gets its own button on the taskbar, regardless of monitor"? Why am I forced to play pong with my windows across monitors so I can properly order them on the primary taskbar?
WHO TESTED THIS SHIT?!
Maybe your video card is making windows think they're two different virtual desktops?
Oh, wait, here it is:
Change the "Combine buttons on other taskbars" dropdown at the bottom to match the option in the screenshot.
Not what I'm after either, thanks for playing!
No, I'm talking about how buttons group together and don't allow you to re-order them on whit on the Primary display regardless of the "Combine" setting) yet not so much for other displays.
Though to be fair, it does happen on the other taskbar, apparently Chrome Dev Tools is Differentβ’ than the main chrome application/process/whatever, so it's allowed to have a separate "grouping" of buttons.
No, what I want is complete detachment of the grouping concept. I used to be able to do this in Windows XP (though, at the price of needing a utility), but apparently nobody wanted their windows to be separated or something.
Bah, whatever.
Uh, doesn't the "Combine taskbar buttons"->"Never" option allow that? Or am I still missing something? I've never had a problem moving stuff around on the primary taskbar nor the secondary ones, but I keep my buttons always combined (as you can see), so it's entirely possible I'm missing some aspect.
Combine-Never means Windows won't stack all your windows into a single icon (i.e. they'll have text on them). But it still groups them.

Actually no, I just had hope when I saw the Dev Tools apparently deserved its own grouping for some reason, then blew up when my hopes were dashed...

Ah, gotcha. Now I think I understand everything. Windows was always going to shoot that puppy, it just conspired with Chrome to make you think there could be a different outcome.

Judging from my average pain levels, my ankle injury is about 90% healed, enough for me to think about working to regain all the strength I've lost over the past few months. I started simple yesterday with one-legged squats using my own body weight, and today my quadriceps are flipping me the bird any time I use my legs for anything more strenuous than quietly sitting in a chair.

Status: Remember how I talked about Microsoft shenanigans regarding me trying to change the payment method for an Office subscription?
It now looks to me that they must've created a hellish and byzantine mess even they don't have the full overview as to what goes actually where.
Because I just spent 40 minutes on the phone, mostly being on mute, while the poor agent tried to figure out how to actually enter my credit card info to the proper destination.
Because it seems that I have, for some unfathomable reason, multiple personal and business accounts folded into my "main" account. And that when I entered my credit card information it ended up on one of those business accounts. The Office subscription is located on one of the personal accounts, however, and they don't talk to each other.
They did fix that, though.
However, my Xbox Live Gold subscription is on another account still and, since I talked to Office support, I'd also have to talk to XBox support which would have to go through the same song and dance.
Their advice: Just wait until the subscription expires due to an invalid payment method and then resubscribe. It's faster.
Jesus.

i sent that to a friend of mine that used to play Eve and he said "Luckiest shot ever"
apparently the Erebus can't track fast enough to reliably hit the Caracal or something like that? i don't know really..... i mean if i had a giant ship for fighting i'd make sure it had plenty of guns to hit the smaller ships that it's main gun couldn't track well to make sure i was survivable if someone broke through the support fleet sort of thing.
like an aircraft carrier's pretty vulnerable without a support fleet, but it's not defenseless either yeah?
-
@accalia I was webbed (read: slowed) probably like 3 times or something and in like 10 bubbles (warp disruption fields). There were like 20 of them on grid (same location, used to be like 250km wide, now it's something like 2000km wide). We were, to quote Lorne, well and truly fucked. They were basically there to get on killmails.
IIRC they nerfed supers+ being able to hit subcaps awhile ago. Doesn't help when you're moving slow as molasses.
The only tiny ships that can really do anything to supers is interdictors (which deploy warp disruption fields) and Heavy Interdictors (which can either generate a field from their ship, or give a single ship a infinite amount of warp disruption) since generally they're immune to electronic warfare
-
-
@accalia Interdictors are small ships that stop large ships from moving.
-
@accalia TN;DR (too nerd; didn't read): big ship can point big gun at little ship if little ship has to move through JELL-O

and what stops the big ship from having medium guns that shoot at littler ships better than big gun?
i mean from a purely practical standpoint it seems odd for a giant ship to just have big gun and point defenses. like you're going to have something in between, no?

I tried that once, a long time ago β high school, or shortly thereafter β in a translation that preserved Dante's rather complex rhyme and meter, while attempting to also be readable English. It was less than a great success in the latter; I only made it through a few pages.

That would imply logical thinking, which isn't necessarily a military strong point...

Nothing, other than you're losing damage in case you get into a fight with other giant ships.

Meh, that's what your support fleet is for. OTOH, they can also re-fit mid fight assuming that there's at least one other capital or larger ship within a certain distance of them. It takes a minute or two to do that though.
Plus I meant to mention that most of the damage I took was from fighters, which are basically frigate-sized drones, so you can just put your drones on the small stuff instead of fitting guns to shoot them.

No weights though, just my own body weight like with pushups. Stand on one leg, put a hand on a doorframe for balance, and do squats with a single leg.
Based on how many reps I could do, my good leg is about twice as strong as my injured leg. I had no idea things could degrade that quickly, from just a few months worth of physical inactivity.

@mott555 You are younger and probably in significantly better shape overall than I am, but I would not have considered that an easy start back when I was in better shape. It depends on how many reps you did, of course. I still remember trying, as a newcomer, to keep up with the regulars in an exercise class; about a day and a half later my legs rebelled in much the same way as yours. Who would have thought that something as simple as standing on tip-toe (over and over) could be so painful.

Just back from Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 2nd row seats. Great show as always. Still mindboggling that they'll take down the entire site-- an entire stadium-rock-show with lights and hydrolics and pryo-- pack it up, move it to a new city, and set it all up again in less than 18 hours.
Kudos to the road crew.
Actually, most shows with elaborate sets have two copies of set and gear, and I assume TSO is no different.
Each set only gets used every other night, so they can be a bit more leisurely (and safe) about it.
