@blakeyrat Sadly the only treatment is for people to make jokes that are at least funny enough to be recognised as even bad jokes.
Well... The thought of something scary enough to cause a Komodo dragon to drop its tail out of fear is funny to me, at least.
... Because the alternative is horrifying!

So long as his screenshots come with embedded auto-play audio?

@Karla it's a crab. But yes.
I'm assuming @blakeyrat is talking about this achievement.
Blocked at work.
I still like spider queen better.

This theme is overrated but still one of my favorite ones.

Status: Just discovered that one of our "critical system imaging applications" that hasn't had an update since forever is owned by a company that's closing up shop in just over a year from now.
This only happened because I randomly opened up a weird-looking executable that was dumped in this PC's %windir% folder sometime long ago:
Oh, they've been doing this for two-and-a-half decades?!
Well that explains the icon I guess...

I'm browsing the site on a VR headset, and for a moment I forgot that I'm physically in a room somewhere using a computer. Possibly the closest a human has come to physically being "inside" the Internet. It's kind of blowing my mind.

@error Don't let the cooties eat you.

@error As a person who is almost entirely hype-resistant, the more stuff like that I see, the less I'm interested in VR.

Status Filling in my timesheet for the week.
Expectation: 7.5 hours per day
Expectation up to Thursday: 30 hours
Actual hours worked, mostly doing other people's jobs for them: 36+ (I might have missed a few minutes here and there)Conclusion: goofing off for the rest of the day.
Status: I kind of want to be a dick and post my timesheet.
Status: I just got all caught up on my paperwork and billable hours. Also, I have had enough to drink that I feel like being a cockhole to @Lorne-Kates.

Status: My son gave me a Steam gift of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel today. Estimated time to download over crappy hotel wi-fi: 28 hours. :(
-
@HardwareGeek How is the new job going?
-
@Polygeekery Contract extended through end of December, so I guess they're happy with what I'm doing, and I get to continue getting a paycheck, so I'm happy, too. Currently a bit boring, though; compiles take >0.5 hours, and tests take >5 hours, so lots of unproductive time (and only mobile for TDWTF, :( ).

You need to drink for that now?

Status: Pissed. Less about the amount of work that is assigned to me than at the fact random "small things" getting dumped onto me after "explicit" plans that no new stuff will be planned for this week.
I'm less enthused about finally getting a decent vacation now because I'm afraid of what might wait for me after I come back to work...

They'll just find someone else to dump stuff on, or it'll be only things that can wait (and so can even wait a bit longer).

@aliceif Should I get the soundtrack version?

@JazzyJosh said in The Official Status Thread:
@aliceif Should I get the soundtrack version?
If you want to give the dev money? Sure.
The tracks are too short for casual listening in the soundtrack release, which really sucks. They're just a single loop long and there are lots of much too short tracks. Really shitty for a soundtrack release.
They aren't any more suitable than the audio files you can extract from the EXE using something like 7-zip, really.
-
@aliceif That's a no then. All right.
Finally going to get around to buying Undertale tomorrow.
-
Status: another day, another idea. I hate being creatively minded.
Anyways. The idea is a story that might actually fit into an interactive fiction game, and if I start now I might be done in time for the deadline... hrm.

They were already extracted in the Steam version for me.

status
contractors are working in the server room next to my office, installing a new power drop.
So far:
- One of them cut his hand because he wasn't wearing gloves
- One of them got drywall dust in his eyes because he wasn't wearing goggles, and had to be lead out to wash
- The same guy then got drywall dust in his lungs because he isn't wearing a mask, and is coughing like he's dying.
This is ontop of them wanting to move all the servers out of the room so they have more room to work. Live, active servers.
This day may end with Ontario Fried Contractor. :|

To be fair, the drywall dust wouldn't be good for the servers…

It's a whole new block of power drops for a server room. I'm guessing "exploded"

I'll add that to the list:
- Didn't cover sensitive equipment with plastic before drywall cutting.

Status help I think I'm going insane
Remember those crazy ideas I have? Well... I have a new one. For funsies I thought I'd actually get around to properly learning about the magic that is SSDS.
There is a part of me
curiousinsane enough to try porting it to PHP. But preserving the original style and behaviour rather than doing modern, proper PHP on it...

@blakeyrat said in The Official Status Thread:
IIRC if you want unambiguous rounding, you actually need 4 digits past the decimal point.
That's treating the symptom (but it may work in most cases). The real solution is not to use floating-point data types, but to use a proper decimal data type. It's not as if they didn't know that decades ago--VAX CPUs have a decimal data type. People using floats and then going to silly extremes to work around the limitations of the data type is still yet another example of people not learning from the past.

@FrostCat the sad part is that cartman is using MySQL which supports this just fine. It's the 'getting it into the DB' and 'getting it back out again' that are the hard part.
-
@Arantor said in The Official Status Thread:
He was joking?
It's hard to tell--his shoulder aliens theoretically understand hoo-mon humor, but it's kind of like how Indian people will say "I have a doubt about [something]" instead of "I have a question"--dialectical issues, that is.
