Not another one...I have to hold my headphones while drinking or they'll fall off.

AND THEY COST 129 FUCKING DOLLARS?!
You know what I got for 129 fucking dollars?
Actually good headphones.
Filed under: used, but in really good condition, and still got like $30 left

Actually the sound quality is quite good. Dio never sounded so good! A little too much bass but to be honest that wasn't the attraction. ^_^You know what I got for 129 fucking dollars?
Actually good headphones.

STATUS:
It's becoming almost impossible to keep up with this thread. Skip one day, and you're in a 300+ post hole it's hard to dig out of. Not sure if there's a real systemic solution for that.
-
convince the other inconsiderate bastards here not to post?
convince people to only post statuses here and to not have discussion about statuses here?
Meanwhile, Status: still throwing up on a regular basis. Not a fan of this bullshit any more.

That's the thing, the quality of content here is actually pretty good. I WANT to read what others are posting. I just don't have the time to get into every little thread.
I guess mods could be more vigilant splintering off longer conversations into their own topics.
In other STATUS news, I love these snarky remarks in the CodeProject newsletter.

STATUS: Ecstatic!
so.... i'm not the only one here with a pair of those....
good to know

That does not reduce the number of posts you have to read, you know.

They seriously call it "Eclipse Che"? What's the tagline, "a revolution in your browser"?

laziness mostly.

That does not reduce the number of posts you have to read, you know.
indeed it increases them because any posts that are jeffed that you have already read are marked as unread after the jeffing
-
It'd be funny if someone else in his office had a pair of those headphones too.
Hipster surround sound system.

$15.95 USD is on the very upper range of what I'd pay for a casual lunch. Then again, I'm almost always eating home-made meals (call it $2 ), so if I DID go out for lunch, I wouldn't mind spending $16 on something special.
I usually spend $10-20 on lunch, but I feel like I should stop since I could be saving that money...

So you will hate us if we spam up this thread?

the quality of content here is actually pretty good.
So you certainly will hate us if we spam up the thread with useless talk?
-

That's easily solved by entering the new topic, hitting End and marking the topic read.

I was trying Cortana in a computer configured in Spanish.
I said "Google Now".
..seriously?

Salt has fuck-all to do with kidney stones. Why do you hate salt? What did it ever do to you? Was your grandfather killed in a salt mine collapse?
I think salt uses javascript and ads.

Remorselessly murders your memory and CPU.
-
So you wouldn't pay it.
See "casual". If I worked in a place with a cafeteria, I wouldn't be dropping $16 a day for a fucking lunch. That's insane. Or even if I was wandering around on lunch and decided to pick something up.
So you would pay it.
In the very, very rare occasion I would go out with co-workers for some sort of lunch event, then yes, I would consider it. That happens maybe once a quarter.
Why not make up your fucking mind, then come back, ok?
Why don't you learn to fucking read, then eat a fish, ok?
-
-
Is there any reason I shouldn't have the two combined?!
The only reason I can think of is some people might want to go to "list all users" (bookmarked or something) and not have to click a button to launch the search.

Not sure if there's a real systemic solution for that.
This is Discourse. The solution is "ban everyone"
-

I literally do not understand spending that much on lunch. Then again, I spent a long time unemployed / as a student / paying off student debt / saving for house, so I kinda got used to being frugal while still eating well.
-
I've been replying as I go (since as I mentioned upthread, it's impossible to scroll back to find messages).
Got annoyed that I had to keep clicking "back" to get back to where I was reading, since Discourse jumps to the end of the convo after posting.
In a second tab, changed my profile to "Do not jump to my message after posting" and hit save.
Wrote the above post.
Discourse still jumped to the end of the thread.
So I guess profile settings are cached-- client side-- per tab-- or some dumb fucking thing? Fuck, when is the new forum software being installed?

Also, maybe people can consider :toast:Replying to several messages at once:toast:
Of course, that doesn't actually reduce the amount of new content you have to read. It just deceives you by lying about how many new posts there are.

When I grew up, we didn't have a lot of money. Now that I have a lot of money, I'm trying to enjoy all the things I used to miss out on. So same situation, opposite effect for me.

More or less the same boat. But I'm used to putting a huge portion of my paycheck aside (though it now goes into Savings rather than Debt). It does mean that if I DO want to indulge in something as a treat, I can.
"Hey, Evil Dead: The Musical is back in town. Want front row Splatter Zone seats?"
"How much are they?"
"About $100 each"
"Meh, why not. Merry Birthdaymasversary or whatever."(Insert rant here about certain family members who go on 6-7 oversea vacations a year, eat out all the time, then bitch at me because I can afford to buy a house and they can't)

STATUS Annoyed!
While writing a wizard I persisted the settings to make life easier for myself and left that functionality in there. A user noticed this and is demanding it for every wizard now. =(

A $16 lunch better be a steak dinner, otherwise that's way too expensive.
-
If you are spending $16 on a steak dinner, you are buying shoe leather.
-
Around here, you can't go to the bathroom at night without tripping over a herd of cattle on the way. Steak is cheap here.
-
you can't go to the bathroom at night without tripping over a herd of cattle on the way
you don't have an indoors toilet?
