I've come across something related recently.
One client asked why the line breaks they put in their ERP system weren't showing on their websites.
On the one hand this is a legitimate question , on the other I'm pretty sure other clients like having the possibility of writing their own HTML; and as a matter of fact I know at least one of them does it.
In the end I've made it configurable per client whether HTML-escaping is done or not.

Could the real-estate market have topped out?

It could have, but your single data point is a silly thing to get excited over. Congratulations, though, on being more likely to stay wherever you are.

@Gribnit I have to say that I'm really impressed by how well you've diversified your trolling techniques recently, and pretending not to know the meaning of a question mark is a nice touch. However, you really shouldn't be doing this sort of thing outside of the garage.

Status: The delivery distortion field continues in full effect. The FEP film (I don't need it urgently and don't particularly care when it arrives, but after closing another tab I happened to find myself on the tab with the USPS tracking info for it, so I refreshed the page to see what's up) has so far traveled (via a "shipping partner"; it's not yet even in possession of USPS) from City of Commerce (East LA), CA, north to Spanish Springs (north of Reno), NV, to Bloomington (near San Bernardino), CA. This is, according to Google, a total travel distance of 964 miles (1551 km) in an elapsed time of 5 days. Edit: Not counting the 3 days between creating a shipping label and a physical package showing up in the tracking system.
The net result of this journey so far: 52 miles (84 km).

Or maybe single buffering in 64-bit color.

Status: Fuck, I hate this password bullshit.
Create a new VM with "VMWare Virtual Cloud". IT has set it up that it starts with a default password (that's detailed on the help pages) and forces you to enter a new password. It's a VM and access to it is already controlled through the front end. I don't want to enter any password at all. So I type in a trivial password and Windows tells me it doesn't accept it due to the "complexity, history, or [whatever] requirements." But it doesn't tell me what the fuck those are.
I try something longer and it doesn't work. Try something else, no luck. I try to set my domain password, which already is like 25 characters long. If it's good enough for remote RDP it really should be good enough for a VM that cannot be otherwise reached, right? Nope, doesn't work. Holy fuck.
Next idea is to paste in the VM GUID that's shown in the vcloud URL, but paste doesn't work at this point, and I'm not typing this bullshit. So finally I go withasdfghjkqwertzui12345678!"§$
and voilà, it works. For fuck's sake, why can't I just leave the password blank?!

Less than 5 it would take to chew through a Cat 5 :bofh:
Anyway, I haven't got a cable tester at home, so I just replaced with another. It's currently dangling over half the room, because it's too short. Tried using the old one again, router says port is free. So yeah, it's fucked somehow despite having been nailed to the walls for a decade.
Cables don't go bad on their own and @Tsaukpaetra is 6000 miles that way, so I really have no idea how it could have happened.
