Most bitches can't actually come on command, and many will simply fake it if you try. It can work if they were going to come anyway, and were just resisting the urge.

It's made so much worse when they lay in the middle of the bed and stare at you, then grumble and shout when you try to snuggle them aside to make room for yourself. Then! Getting off the bed only to come back later, but not to get in the bed, no, to stare at you from the floor. And then! Much later when I'm asleep to actually get back in bed, but in a position where she's slowly pushing me off the bed!
Bitch, this is my bed!

You may think that, but you're really just keeping it warm for her.

No, we just had several lousy presidents. It was nice to have one that pushed back now and then.

Yes.

Okay, disregarding that there's a switch in-between me and the server that's stuck on 100 mbps, why am I writing at only 30 mbps? The storage media is definitely way faster than that.

Annoyed.
The head of development and quality assigned a ticket to me.
"I do X. Then I do Y. Then I get the unexpected result of Z."The result looked unexpected to me, too.
Debugged the thing, and found out: in March 2017 (yeah, almost 4 years ago), I checked in a Unit Test which exactly tested that that's the outcome. Found some documentation describing that. Remember that we decided so in some meeting...I do not remember why I accepted that. Was I just fed up with the stupidity of my colleagues? Or did they eventually force me to implement that crap?
Anyway, now, some 4 years later, it is suddenly wrong. Great.

He's going to enjoy it either way.

One of the requirements is to decide what is to be done about the issue that resulted in the test case being added. That's a good one to drop back up the seniority chain. (It might be that the answer is “we don't care about that case any more because that customer stopped paying us” and that's absolutely fine.)

Status: Pulling the plug on my project's support for Python 2.7. We simply can't wait for
downstream projects any more; our ability to test is too compromised now that we can't bring in dependencies reliably any more.
Getting rid of some truly crappy programming (the portability gunk we'd put in) is always good.

For ground beef I mostly just change from garlic powder to onion powder.

Today he made me change it so many times that it ended up with the original code again.

Last time I used Java 15 years ago I was swearing because reading a binary file was so much boilerplate hassle as it didn’t have unsigned types.
Nowadays I swear at having to deal with fuckingsize_t
every other line and wish they’d just use signed types everywhere. Or do correct comparisons of mixed types out of the box instead of throwing warnings.

But at least the item in question is in the box (or will be, when their box-packing people will be in the warehouse during normal business hours tomorrow).
Well, FedEx says they have two boxes in transit, and since I ordered two items, the item in question should be in one of them. Both should be here Wednesday.

That went fine, if slowly. Now to tell it that I really did delete all that shit!
This is taking quite some time... about five minutes, actually.
