LOL. The tyres on my main car are $220USD or $295CAD each. At the cheapest place.

A common solution is to take a piece of black electrical tape and place it over the light. Also works well for Check Engine lights.
And VCR clocks.
And coffee makers. (Oh you want to set your clock back? Go 23hrs forward!) Yes, my coffee maker is now at some random time. And the clock radio in the kitchen is flashing <blink>12:00</blink> (it's in the corner so I can't see it)
I currently have a much more complicated coffee maker than I'd usually have. It has two buttons, rather than the usual one.

The jag isn't particularly expensive, and it's the first car she's ever liked. It's comfortable, and sporty enough, and also looks decent.
But any car thgat costs more than like USD5000 is driven by someone with more money than sense.Since I have 2 cars, 1 van and 4 motorcycles I have waaaaay more money than sense. If that is because I have much money or little sense is up to someone else to judge.

It's confusing, but there's a method to the madness.

ArrayType
Given a type that is an array, give me the type it is an array of (if
T
isU[]
, thenArrayType<T>
=U
, elsenever
(narrow the type away)).ArrayTypeOrType
Same as above, except if the type isn't an array, default to the original type. (if
T
isU[]
, thenArrayTypeOrType<T>
=U
, elseT
).ArrayTypeOrTypeArray
Give me
T
if it is an array, orT[]
if it isn't. (ForceT
to be an array unless it already is.)...and... It's not referenced any more, so I guess I didn't actually need it.

No. I used to buy cars in the 0-500 USD range and drive then for a year or two and then selling them for about the same amount, only filling up on gas and oil. No service or new parts.
Never had a breakdown in 15 years.

@Rhywden said in The Official Status Thread:
@remi I think with something like that I would've turned the whole thing over to a travel agent and said: "Your turn. Figure it out."
I was tempted to do so, especially when I started to see some flights disappear and reappear randomly from various searches.
But then I remembered that the last time I did go to a travel agent for something similar, I could clearly see that they were not doing anything else than I would be doing, i.e. looking at a travel website and picking various options. They were even doing less than I could do since they worked on a single website whereas I could compare several ones (they all end up looking at the same databases, but sometimes they offer different ways to filter things). I was hoping that they could do more than me, i.e. hand-pick specific flights for specific legs of the trip, but it didn't seem to be the case.
I guess a good travel agent might be able to do better, but remember the 90/10 rule: in every job, 90% of people are just going through the motion and 10% are really smart/motivated enough to do their job well.
(also, sunken cost fallacy: by the time I had spent a couple of days of back and forth to build a possible itinerary, I was loath to loose all my work and have someone else start again from scratch...)

Status: Looking over the Cisco stuff. Guess I could try getting a CCT certification while waiting for the new CCNA certifcation courses to appear. I could make a proposal to my boss at least.
Also, me and some colleagues are discussing going to Silicon Valley on a work trip to visit tech companies. Anyone having any suggestions, outside of the obvious big ones?
-
Status: fuck, it's 430, and the project is still incomplete. The dry fitting was mostly success, the HDMI cord is very tight and indeed the Usb-c is two inches too short, and I'll need to replace the male end of the Ethernet part with a shorter end. Then of course I need to power it on outside the case to ensure all the constituent parts function (kinda important).

Status: Chrome is such a shit browser. It likes to just decide to stop loading Comcast mail and other sites periodically. I get that little blinking status message in the bottom left about resources loading and then nothing but a blank screen and no console output. Clearing the cache doesn't fix it but going to the same site(s) in an "incognito" window works.

Not the part where they mess it up if you don’t do it yourself. That seems fairly obvious.
The part where you think it will be correct just because you entered it into their system correctly.Reminds me of that one journal article I submitted as LaTeX source and they still managed to get my name wrong, and it ended up wrong even after contacting the editor 3 times to have it corrected. (He always triggered it to be corrected, but some time later their process managed to get it back to the fucked up state). I assume, for whatever fucked up reason, there was printing and OCR involved, or manual transcription, even though they had my name in the correctly spelled source.
Wooden table optional.
