some brains don't like that
Ah, that probably explains my ability to align magic-eye images in under half a second...
I can't see them.
Perhaps you just need practice?
Sorry, bad taste, some people literally can't naturally see them, but with the help of some tools it's almost possible to kinda get it.
I tried to put one of the first link into the second and got this:
Did you put the actual image or a link to the image?
It's supposed to look like this, with a slider so you adjust the cross section.
Oh derp.
OK, I can use it.
Seeing what I am supposed to see doesn't help at all. I have no idea how that image is hidden in there.
The heart example at Magic Eye Solver / Viewer is fairly easy to get. I find it easier to prioritize getting the overlap and then getting the focus. The focal depth is the same as the original image, so that probably helps a lot. I can get it by crossing my eyes until two adjacent roses in the middle overlap, and then letting my eyes slowly but naturally bring the overlapped "two-in-one" rose into focus.

In this instance, would it really be murder? and not a justifiable homicide?

@boomzilla Looks fake to me. To get such a complete, even layer of powder on her face, I'd expect to see a lot more in her hair and on her shoulders and chest.

Sounds almost like you speak from experience.
-
@Karla Experience blowing white powder out of a hairdryer at my face? No. But my ex-wife was a professional clown for a while, and I do have a little experience with stage makeup. And I have experience with baby powder on damp skin. It takes effort to get complete, even coverage of your face. The first thing I noticed, though, was how little powder was on her hair. She was aiming the hairdryer at her hair — at first, anyway, so a lot of the powder should have hit her hair. Her hair was presumably wet, else why was she using the hairdryer? So a good bit of the powder that hit her hair should have stuck, far more than stuck to her (probably) dry face. But her face is completely white, while there's only a slight dusting of powder on her hair. Also, if she got hit in the face with enough powder to make it that white, a lot of it should have slid off onto her chest, but there's very little.
-
@HardwareGeek She should also have gotten plenty in her eyes and mouth, and if that was to happen to me my instinctive reaction would certainly not be to stay with eyes and mouth wide open.
But then again, on the internet everything looks fake to someone or another...

I wouldn't trust a dog to tell what colour a traffic light is showing.
But I wouldn't trust a cat either.

In my opinion, if your dog is telling you anything you should wait until the mushrooms wear off before you make any potentially life-changing decisions.

@boomzilla said in 😈 The Evil Ideas thread:
"Foodie calls"
a-third-of-women-only-date-men-because-of-the-free-food-study/"a quarter to a third of heterosexual women have gone on a date with a guy they weren’t interested in — just for a free meal." So it's not quite as bad as it sounds - it doesn't mean that 1/3 of all dates are solely for the free meal.
I'm not sure whether this beats that, but, my grandmother would tell my mother (before she met my dad) that she should accept an invite to a party, even if she didn't like the guy she was going with, because she might meet someone.

@Polygeekery I'd dig it.

It's a toss between this thread an Bad Ideas, or maybe the Quixotic Ideas.
This only highlights an already existing problem, but if browsers start taking measures against this sort of thing — and they should! — then the whole "solution" to the "problem" this is trying to "solve" will be defeated.

I met my current girlfriend at a party* while on a date with a girl I didn't like (though that wasn't really my intention).
* Yes, that kind of party.
