Jeff
nounSome additions have been made to this definition, courtesy of @HardwareGeek and myself.
-
Of course, @Lorne_Kates would do it this way:
**{term}****strong text** *{part of speech}**emphasized text*
{definition(s)}
{synonyms,antonyms,see also, etc.}

e additions have been made to this definition, courtesy of @HardwareGeek and myself.
I guess I'll check those out once I'm not on mobile, ain't nobody got time for scrolling all the way back up. (Could always try to get jellypotatoed back up though, i suppose...)

You could just click the link I posted. You know. The easy way.
-
Nothing clickable in your post (apart from @HardwareGeek mention). Is DC being special on Android or something?
edit: i see, you mean expand the quotebox. nvm...

That or follow the link to the quoted post:

Discobug has been updated!
-
It also happens to be today's Dicopædia tweet!
-
Should links to the discopædia tweets be added to the discodefinitions?
[poll name="DiscopædiaTweets"]
- Yes
- No
[/poll]
Edit: Summoning Active Discocontributors @raceproUK, @loopback0, @HardwareGeek, @FuckOffBob, @Polygeekery, @Luhmann, @accalia, @Jbert, @PJH, @boomzilla
-
Also summoning active Discocontributers: @JazzyJosh, @dkf, @Onyx, @Arantor, @nightware, @chubertdev, @Yamikuronue, @sloosecannon, @Jaloopa, @lolwhat
For the poll above.

Circular references — tweet refers to definition, which refers to tweet, which refers to definition, which refers... I don't really care, but it seems kind of pointless to me.
-
Should links to the discopædia tweets be added to the discodefinitions?
In the future, you can safely assume that my vote will always fall on the side of "what pisses off Jeff the most".
-
I voted yes, at least partly because like the rest of the maintenance of the 'pædia, I'm not gonna do it.
-
The main reason I thought to do so was that it would be an easy way to keep track of which definitions have been tweeted.
-
Undoubtedly true. But then, I also wouldn't volunteer to do the tweets.
-
There's a TWITTER?
Tempted... to open... account...
EDIT: Also can anyone explain to me why Discourse claims that the poll post itself mentions me?
-
I think we've reached a point where we have a reasonable conclusion. I'll get the links for the three tweets so far added to the corresponding defs now.
-
EDIT: Also can anyone explain to me why Discourse claims that the poll post itself mentions me?
Your question contains its own answer. I have added emphasis to make it more obvious.

Should links to the discopædia tweets be added to the discodefinitions?
As someone who's been on holiday for a few days - I have no idea which tweets.
Poll seems closed, I'll vote yes, as long as someone else is doing it
-
You should try following @Discopaedia. ;)

An arbitrary number picked for absolutely no reason, and then used as absolute fact to make all decisions on.See: Kuro-barRecommend separating this into a new definition.

Sorry, split into two.

No idea... I had an idea of creating some sort of image thing based on that recently but... Look, I'm from moonland, we still fight about whose grand-grandfather was on which side during WW2, not sure if I should poke at the whole thing...

Discouser
nounA poor, suffering soul who has created an account on a forum that uses Discourse. For an example, look in the mirror.
Also self-referential in that it may be used to describe a discouser from Liverpool.

I refer you to the OP of Teh Official Discopædia (ﷺ, @abarker, creator and prophet of the Discopædia):
This is the Official Discopædia. Only definitions should be added to this topic. Discussion regarding this topic should be handled in Teh Official Discopædia Meta. Any non-definitions will be jeffed to that topic.

My first ever Jeffed post; do I get a ?

I haven't played Halo in years, but after making a crude mockup of one of the kill chain medals earlier today, I had to go and do it properly. If I feel up to it, I might have to mock up the rest of the medals and add them to that post.
-
Slightly better than a Discotastrophe and slightly worse than a Disconaire.
(Emphasis mine)
I didn't find those definitions in teh Discopædia. Am I too stupid or did someone @Placeholder forget to put them in?
-
You'd have to be familiar with the Halo games to understand what those mean. Basically, the Discotastrophe would be banning 8 people within 4.5 seconds of each other and the Disconaire would be banning 10 people within 4.5 seconds of each other.

Actually, no: I'm a noob here - I didn't find the trick how to replace sleep by video games yet. All other time I need for more important stuff like
eating, drinking, trying to catch up here.

DiscoQuote
noun
A fundamentally broken feature due to the DiscoDevs' belief that quoting other users is unconditionally Doing It Wrong™, however this feature sees widespread use in the Real World. Hilarity ensues because the bugs-to-posts ratio involving DiscoQuotes is much greater than 1.See DiscoBug.
While prepping this tweet, I found it a bit humorous that the comment about the bug-to-quote ratio is still pretty accurate.

Paging @abarker, anyone else interested in improving this one:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/book-teh-o-cial-discopaedia-abarker-creator-and-prophet-of-the-discopaedia/3866/761?u=sloosecannonI'd like an example of the first time we got a 500 OK if we could... no idea where that would be and I'm really not interested in discosearching...

Probably back in May or June of last year. ;)
-
No way to sort discosearch by date right?
Bleh
Also you missed a wiki definition :)
-
No I didn't. Definitions only get wikid when they get promoted to discodefinitions. That happens when a TL4+ seems it worthy, generally based on likes.
-
Ah I see. I must have missed that discussion. Carry on, good sir!

meta.derp
Synonym: meta.d
-
Wrong thread. ;)
-
You can always add it to the meta.d article as a synonym.

Discoverse
noun- A separate, parallel universe in which Discourse is programmed in and runs in. Physics and time are wildly different from those in the "normal" universe
Notes:
In the Discoverse, Discourse can read everyone's minds.[citation]
Proposed improvement / addition: In the Discoverse, Discourse actually works.
