If every entity in DF jumped at the same time, would it be the entities that are moving, or the world that just got pushed away?
Just push DF away.

That's the shittest secret pm club ever. You're probably not even cooking up a conspiracy. Probably just hookers, blackjack and onion belts.

hookers
I'm pretty sure at least one person in that club is married, so there's probably some sort of conspiracy required for this to be true.

Never claimed it had any prestige or worth at any time.
You're probably not even cooking up a conspiracy.
Sure am! The conspiracy is that links, mentions, and quotes don't give link-back or notifies there.
Sure, it's a very bland conspiracy, but it's there!Probably just hookers, blackjack and onion belts.
Nothing so exciting. At least one of these is false.

laughing while typing at a computer
I don't generally do it out loud, I'll admit.
If you[1] haven't got a sense of humor, though, you're missing out on much of what life has to offer, or some slightly more refined version of that that I CBA to write.
Also, not taking Timmy @blakeyrat seriously is, so far, one of the few ways demonstrated to get him to timeout the vitriol.
[1] the general "you", not you in particular.

I don't generally do it out loud, I'll admit.
I have the luxury of an entire floor of a building to myself, so I can actually laugh out loud.

Our friend was explaining why listening to criticism is a good thing:
when you see yourself doing something badly and nobody's bothering to tell you anymore, that's a very bad place to be. Your critics are your ones telling you they still love you and care.
Way to follow your own advice, Jeff.

You should change your user preferences to reflect that; average users do not want to read everything

Holy fuck.

Way to push your narrow worldview on what constitutes marriage. Stop defining other people's relationships based on your own cis-biased duality.
-
Yeah, maybe the married couple like murdering hookers together. Ever thought of that, @Fox?
-
I'm just hoping like fuck I can drive some change in this place somehow.
Spoiler alert: You can't. Seriously. It is too ingrained, and no one will care that your way is better and will yield better results. You're going to have a bad time.

It's OK when he does it because it's for a good cause.

Not all marriages are monogamous. Bigot.
-
I simply love how random votes resulted in this:
I'm however not quite sure how to interpret the percentages.
-
I voted for "Yes" and "No" and left bagel unchecked, just to skew the results.
-
I voted for "No" and "A bagel" for the same reason.
-
And I went for Yes and A Bagel.
So there.
-
Crap, me too.
-
The only reason I voted the way I did is because there was no choice labeled, "Fuck @ben_lubar's polls, in the ass, with a cactus. Then with 12 cactuses."
<I used "cactuses" instead of "cacti", just to annoy HardwareGeek
-
What did the poor cacti ever do to you?
-
-
Have you ever even seen Arizona?
Yeah, she's a mean little pussy, don't ever try to touch her!
Filed under: Wait, are talking about the same thing?
-
there was no choice labeled, "Fuck @ben_lubar's polls, in the ass, with a cactus. Then with 12 cactuses."
No, but there was the unlabeled, implicit choice "Ignore @ben_lubar's polls." I chose that option.
-
Arizona? I barely knew 'er.
-
No, but there was the unlabeled, implicit choice "Ignore @ben_lubar's polls." I chose that option.
This one could be ignored. When he has made poll posts that stretched for pages...not so much.
-
While you're amusing yourself with Arizona, I'm still puzzling over the piece of discomath the poll revealed.
-
Well. It's not exactly unusual. When you have poll options that are not mutually exclusive, it's more useful to have percentage of voters each option received than to have percentage of total votes.
-
Yeah, but 66% is "6 out of 9" - I can see the "six", but where does the "nine" come from?
It could also be "2 out of 3" or "8 out of 12" but for that we'd need a total of 24 votes.
-
It's a fa-spinned "six" that got paused halfway through because Discourse ate all the browser's RAM and it froze.
-
Or 4 out of 6. I.E. four of the six total voters each voted for each of the options.
Which is exactly what the math appears to indicate.
-
I'm still puzzling over the piece of discomath the poll revealed.
What's so puzzling? The results reflect the percentage of voters, not votes, for each choice. 6 voters; each voted for 2 choices. 4/6 voted Yes, 4/6 voted No, and 4/6 voted Bagel.
And multi-ed.
-
Or it's 8 out of 12.
12 people voted,
8 people votedThere are 8 votes for each option. Some people, obviously, voted for more than one option.
-
The poll was configured to require 2 votes per voter, and the screenshot taken showed 12 votes from 6 voters.
-
I simply love how non-ambiguous and easy to read these multi-votes are :)
-
Oh, and before I go to bed to preempt hurting myself thinking about discomath:
Status: You may remember that I complained about the architectural (re)design and renovation of our school.
Well, today was the first day of school after the christmas holidays and it was also the first day in this winter with temperatures below freezing. -8 °C to be exact (that's 17.6 °F for you metrically impaired guys).
So, we come into our new school building and notice instantly that it's not really that much warmer than outside. Yes, the high-tech heating had decided to go on strike. So, not exactly much teaching got done today.
This thing doesn't provide air. It doesn't cool us down. And now it can't even heat us up. Great.
Coincidentally, I just read yesterday that all those new-fangled ecological cutting-edge technology energy saving homes are not really doing any saving. Because all that technology goes broke quite often. Best bet is to use low-tech stuff with as few moving parts as possible. :)
-

So... It's a coffin?
-
A coffin would be warmer.

I know. My best case scenario is no more than a year there and the ability to offer up some contributions here. I already have one or two stashed away for once I have left, or stop giving a fuck...

That was the exploding robot dogs one? No wonder.
Status: HuniePop is actually a funny game when it's not skeezy as all hell.
I enjoyed watching Egoraptor get pulled into that game by his wife, who was doing a lets play of it. Genna Bain got TB to play it a bit as well. All of them seemed to think that the game's extreme stereotypes appeal to women quite a lot.
As for Status: Caught up with this thread again after my holiday. Over the break, I beat the Plague Knight campaign in Shovel Knight, beat most of LBX, and gained around 10 levels in Vindictus, which I started playing again since my friends in New Zealand finally got unblocked (After a couple years of complaints on the forum, one of the mods actually read one, and said "Oh, weird, that should work! Let me just go take care of that. Viola!"). Still haven't done much of anything with my IRC app idea.

If mine ever gets off the ground (and I clean up the code so it's even slightly less-than-insane), maybe you could write a plugin for it?
Wait, what was your idea again?
