I know, the German language is funny. ("dick" = thick) Not as funny as the names of Austrian cities, though:
Bonus points for the sign below the city-limit sign, which reads "not so fast".

@asdf
Last week an Audi with a license plate that started withDIXX
passed me on the Autobahn.
-
@Yamikuronue I stopped at the store where I got them on the way to work.
This is the brand:
I can't find the right one because none of the ones here look like they would be supportive enough.
Though they would still be difficult to get on while wet. If you need a large enough cup size there is the issue of the band not being easily pulled over.

I guess the car was simply labeled correctly.
BTW, what does DI stand for? Dinslaken?

I like htis one, but unfortunately it's photoshopped.
I forget exactly why but I researched it a few years ago. You can see that the "use rear entrance" is a bit sharper than the top line

@Polygeekery said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Only because you're bringing the thread into this one. And also because there's at least one gender missing in the green area; the existence of intersex people is a medical fact.

None yet. Though unlike most I can see who does...
-
@PJH can we all just be given mod powers to get around NodeBB not showing downvotes?
-
@asdf Dieburg!
Looks like Dinslaken doesn't have one.

I bolded the hint for you as to why these people are not in the green area.

Yes, because jokes must always be 100% factually accurate and comprehensive.

No idea. Its main role is being a suburb of Darmstadt, I guess.

It was more the first reason. I just wanted to point out the other thing as well, because ery.
@Polygeekery said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Yep. There are zip codes, and there are codes for license plates, which have nothing to do with each other. The first 1-3 letters on the license plate, separated from the rest by a space, indicate where the vehicle is registered. The less letters, the larger the town (usually).

Several of them look like large particle physics experiments. Or something that you'd find on the washing instructions label for a shirt…

Meh. The screeching idiot vulpine seems to have slacked off. If we can't make jokes that he might find offensive...that will leave out a hell of a lot of jokes.

I find the joke offensive as well, and the other person who downvoted probably agrees.
Edit: To clarify: @PJH pointing out that the symbols contain a lot of snowflakes: Funny. You calling them mental disorders: Not funny, but offensive.

Gotcha.
Here, every state releases their own license plates. Most state's rules don't make near that much sense. The states that do have some sort of system in place like that it usually differentiates by county. Those rules also go out the window when it comes to special plates like those with colleges on them, etc.

Different strokes for different folks. C'est la vie.
-
@Polygeekery A few trivia about German license plates:
- They're all of the form {city code} - {letters} {numbers}*
- If the city code is "Y", it's a military vehicle.
- If the city code is completely made up, it belongs to the US military or some secret service.
- If the number is very low, you're probably driving behind a politician.
*IIRC some special plates (for unregistered / temporarily registered vehicles) can have another format, but all regular license plates have this one.
Edit: Actually, "county code" would be more accurate than "city code", since it usually abbreviates the name of the Landkreis (county) which issued the plate.

I'm a 40D so what is good for me...won't necessarily be enough for you.
I have seen some with front zippers though.

I've seen American TV shows where people know a car is a rental from the licence plate. Is that a thing or just made up for some reason? Seems weird when you're used to a numberplate just encoding area and age
-
@Jaloopa said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

It's more likely a rental if it's an out-of-state plate. And often rental companies will advertise their name on the license plate holder.
-
@Yamikuronue said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Ah.
we have quite strict rules on that here. A numberplate can only have a small logo at the bottom, which should identify where the plate was bought from
-
@Jaloopa it's not on the plate, it's a plastic frame that goes around it.
Probably not allowed where you are, though.

In FL it used to be that they all started with a certain set of letters, but that was changed once criminals started targeting them...

We have plastic frames that diffuse light and block cameras...
We have headlight covers that are black and reduce the light brightness...

@Tsaukpaetra A lot of those look redundant, even if I were to accept other genders....
If genders are social constructs, wouldn't the vast majority of people be considered intergender anyway? I mean, it's not like every single person falls under one of two stereotypes.
