@Tsaukpaetra Let's consider the possibilities:
a) It was a joke.
b) Tsaukpaetra meant centimeters, not millimeters.
c) Tsaukpaetra isa womanphysically female and was measuring hir clitoris.I'm going with a, though come to think of it, I don't recall if Tsaukpaetra's sex and gender ever came up before. The subject of it, I mean. No giggity.
Well, Google seems to believe I'm male, so there's that...

Figured "hey, it's almost dinnertime, let's shoot the bitch", or did she decide she's had enough waiting?
That was pretty much my question. Why wait six hours if all they're going to do is just shoot her anyway?
-
@Boner said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:
What could possibly go wrong?
Lots of things, mostly related to poorly trained pilots in the guided missiles surrounding the bus.
Actually I don't see the problem everybody else apparently sees. This looks like a great idea, it just needs some details sorted out. Which, given the low value of human life in China, will probably not be done but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

Bad idea: using this ATM:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gendax-Bluetooth-Conduction-Headphones-Microphone/dp/B01C5IBT2C
for City Sports like Cycling/Riding and Jogging

And going as the Dark Knight Rises version of Bane for Halloween.
-
@Boner Other than being a bit ugly I'm not sure what the "bad idea" part is. Don't some people already wear masks like that, and not even in China because of the air pollution?
-
@FrostCat for me, there's the "freaking out random strangers" factor, but mainly it seems very impractical for aerobic exercise - obstructing airflow, doesn't look like it would stay secure on a jog, and it'd be covered in sweat / phlegm after 5 minutes.
If I had money to burn I'd be tempted to get one for driving though.
-
@Boner said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

You're speaking to someone who wears a headcrab hat in public, so...
But in general, yeah. I was just wondering if there was anything else, and you answered.
-
@FrostCat said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:
Would You Use This ATM?
No, but that's mostly because third-party ATMs cost me money and I'm a tight-arse.

That sounds kind of fun!
-
@ScholRLEA I accidentally clicked on the homepage link while I was on Amazon and I saw this:
What a dumb name. Imagine telling someone that you bought a "fire TV stick"
-
-
@blakeyrat I see your "i.Beat blaxx" and raise you a Police record:
-
I'm just going to leave this here, then try to forget I ever saw it:
-
Are you tired of looking like a normal person instead of some sort of freaky alien? Do kids not stare at you enough?
-
You mean knuckle tattoos might hurt my employment prospects?!
I'm not against tattoos but have some sense.
-
-
@Boner Wow. This really has potential to go terribly wrong in so many ways.
-
@Cursorkeys I'm not sure why that's news. It seems common enough that 18-year-olds don't understand the job market. That's why his parents should have warned him when he decided to get knuckle tattoos.
-
@Yamikuronue said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

From the article:
Loganβs dad Daniel said: βI have tattoos and I work in the police."
-
@obeselymorbid a confidential informant isn't the same as working for the police
-
@Yamikuronue There's a poll at the bottom of that article, asking if stores should be "allowed to discriminate" against people with tattoos, which is currently running 54-46 no. Customers, I guess the theory is, will, even if the stores won't.
-
@FrostCat Yeah, that's such a weird poll. I mean, if you ask me if they should, I'd say in most cases no, tattoos don't matter that much, but if you ask if they should "be allowed to".... tattoos aren't a protected class and shouldn't be, WTF? They're not a stand-in for race, they're not a stand-in for class either as far as I can tell. All sorts of people get them. Doesn't seem like the government's needed here.
-
@Yamikuronue In Japan, law enforcement uses presence of tattoos as a proxy for member of organized crime.
-
@blakeyrat Yeah, but that's Japan. It makes sense there.
Unless the UK has a lot more Yakuza influence than I thought...?
-
@Yamikuronue said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

It makes sense to make it illegal to use a swimming pool if you're an American who has a tiny butterfly tattoo on your lower back and have never heard of the Yakuza?
No, that does not make sense.
-
@blakeyrat It makes sense culturally to ban obvious gang signs from public places. In America, tattoos are not obvious gang signs.
-
@Yamikuronue No, they're just using tattoos as a proxy for bad judgment.
I'm not anti-tattoo, but I don't know why you'd want to do it, myself.
-
@FrostCat said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

Yeah, and there's no reason the government should force people to hire folks with bad judgement.
-
@Yamikuronue said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

If it's graffiti: yes. If it's a hand signal? No. But guess what? We already have anti-graffiti laws.
@Yamikuronue said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

And yet because of shitty Japanese law, that American is being discriminated against. That's bullshit.
-
@blakeyrat Yeah, and German women can go topless on beaches from what I understand, but they can't do that in North Carolina, so they're discriminated against due to shitty American laws.
-
@Yamikuronue Guess so.
If you see nothing wrong with that Japanese law, well, more power to you I guess.
-
@Yamikuronue said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

That doesn't make sense. :P

What American? What do Americans have anything to do with it?

This is in the wrong thread. That's the best idea ever!

If you're in Japan and you're not Japanese you're already being discriminated against. Surely everybody who visits knows this before they go?
-
@anotherusername said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

American lives matter!
-
@another_sam I dunno about that. I've heard that being not Japanese is a good way to get attention from the women.
-
@anotherusername said in βπ THE BAD IDEAS THREAD:

That would also be discrimination, but not the kind I was thinking about.
-
@another_sam Exactly.

I have several tats including a tramp stamp. All could be covered up with proper clothing if required. Since we are fairly casual I don't go out of my
way to hide them now.
-

Bad idea: video editing using fscking PowerPoint. FFS!
-
@Tsaukpaetra what's wrong with Word?

-
@ben_lubar Fixed.

You think that because the butterfly gang is very secretive and subtle

They tought the boy was ok until they understood he cant cover that, so that's not it, it's really only about his appearence.
