Alpha Temptress here, which you'd know is obviously true if you've ever seen me
Not sure I want to know what you're doing to that altar boy.
It's obvious a 'she' you insensitive cloth!

Let me know if you decide in the affirmative.

So, back on topic, I'm White Temptress.
Awful, this must have originally been posted on Facebook or something.

Try some more coffe and reading the thread again ...
I have been coughing a bit lately, but I don't think it's impaired my mental abilities.
I've noticed the odd pattern of claiming new names as soon as post 6, but between post 1 and post 6, there doesn't seem to be mention of how it was derived.
Internet searches for
moon-touched druid
andmoon moon
are quite unhelpful.None of the links (so far at the time of this post) have indicated any new name generating forums (including this one).

Is that a polite way of saying 'old tart' ?
You're Belgian :P

Lists through his real name and a couple of aliases
I'll go for White Hunter.

WTH? Where are you people getting these things?
An image in my post. Didn't it load for you?
-
@PleegWat Much appreciated (I was halfway there on Mobile when you posted)
White Warrior? Golly, have they seen my avatar? (obviously not, by I'm trying to be funny, LAUGH WITH ME DANGIT!)
The available name space of this list is quite limited. Personally, I might have gone with Optimistic Prowler.

Nope, corp proxy is very prejudicial against blog sites and social media in general. Luckily nobody's submitted this domain to any lists we're apparently subscribed to.

Coal is more one of those grey areas - I usually go for compounds including at least one heteroatom (usually hydrogen). Then you can be pretty sure it is indeed organic.
Plenty of hydrocarbons in coal. Where do you think coal seam methane comes from?
But the most part is anthracite, graphite and such.
Unless you want me to point out that there's plenty of anorganic stuff in humans :)

@Tsaukpaetra said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:

Well, your forum name earns you Mystic Hunter. Not sure if that's an improvement.
-
@thegoryone I'm White Demon. The middle east would agree.
@abarker said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:
@swayde
Dude, I'd be White Demon.
Get the hell out of my way.No! That's mine!
-
I'm Ravenous Fire.
If I use my forum name it's Ravenous Temptress, less nonsensical but more embarrassing. If I use my avatar's name then depending on whether you consider my cat to have no surname or the same surname as me it's Moon Vixen or Moon Fire.
An alias that I sometimes use online gets me
Ebony Dagger, I think I'll go with that. No it doesn't, that's the first letter of my (alias') last name. It's Ebony Fire,

@Groaner said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:
I prefer to go with hydrogen hydroxide or hydric acid
I rather like hydronium hydroxide, H3O+ OH-, as that emphasises what actually happens in the aqueous dissociation. DHMO is weird stuff.
-
Hmm, the one I like most is from my nick here, Ancient Shadow. That's almost poetic.

Some of us are more ancient than others.
-
@PleegWat
My name is Fierce E_WHITE_TEXT_ON_WHITE_BACKGROUND
-
@RaceProUK I can't even read what the second word of mine would be because the Tumblr genius used white text against a white wolf.
Rogue something.
-
@Lorne-Kates Yours would be Temptress since it uses the last letter of your last name, not the first.

Well, if we're getting that pedantic you'd need to go: H9O4+ OH- ;)
(I'm not sure, though, whether the hydroxide ion also assumes a tetrahedral structure with water - couldn't find any information on that)
-
@Rhywden That depends on whether you count the hydrogen bonding or not. If you do, you've also got to count all the coordination around the hydroxide ion.
-
@hungrier said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:

That would require actually reading that pseudo-bullshit shit of a bull.

The octett rule is not a law. Due to the dipole character of water it actually makes a lot of sense to coordinate four water molecules around the proton and thus is probably subject to the rules for complexes.
I've not been able to find too much information on this (about every link either doesn't explain it or is hidden behind a science paywall - and the stuff I myself have is kind of offline, i.e. in dead-tree form) but this short blurb here indicates that it's even more complicated:
http://www.ncube.human.nagoya-u.ac.jp/jp/project/event3/0706.txtApplying the ab initio Molecular dynamics method, we have studied the solvation and dynamics of an excess proton and a
proton hole in liquid water. We find for the H3O+ ion a dynamic solvation complex which continuously fluctuates between
a (H5O2)+ and (H9O4)+ structure as a result of proton transfer. The results of the simulation strongly suggest that the
rate-limiting step for the migration of the excess proton is the concerted dynamics of the second solvation shell
hydrogen bonded to the ligand H2O molecules. The OH- ion has a predominantly planar 4-fold coordination. Proton transfer
is only observed when this (H9O5)- complex is transformed into a tetrahedral (H7O4)- complex is transformed into a
tetrahedral (H7O4)- configuration. The formation of this more open complex determines the OH- diffusion rate.

@swayde It's rather amusing that my fursona's Werewolf Name is Ebony Fire, which is synonymous with my fursona's last name. My actual name is, somewhat less interestingly, Dark Lupe - which also has a mildly amusing coincidence which ties it back to me personally, but I don't know y'all well enough to explain why. :P
@Steve_The_Cynic said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:
Heaven help you if your last name ends in Y, because then your werewolf last name is "Vixen", female fox.
I would think that would make it your Werefox Name.

I see nothing wrong with that. Except for me being a hedgehog, that is.

@thegoryone said in Organic Farm Denies Use of Dihydrogen Monoxide:
But we don't reall need it in our bodies except for the positive ions!"
No, that's not how it fucking works. And we do need sodium you moon-touched druid!
Technically, they could have been referring to the sodium, which is a positive ion in salt. However, even if they were smart enough to have meant that, the "don't really need it" seems to kind of no longer apply once they themselves acknowledge that 50% of the substance is really needed in our bodies. And then there's the other 50%, which, as @PJH pointed out, is also really needed. Without either sodium ions or chloride ions, we would be entirely incapable of surviving; both are necessary for the functions of vital muscles and nerves, and are involved in maintaining the pH of bodily fluids, to name a few reasons.

I bet I could design one of these things, and just make sure that letters I care about sound cool, and the most common ones I don't care about are as humiliating as possible. Hmmm...
-
it gave me Ebony Hunter
-
Roight, I made my own now, and it's better and more unsafe and far more interesting. I was going to make it funnier, but I just used the first things I thought of:
Which makes me Godsmiter Eternalking, I guess.
