now it sounds like dwarf porn ...
Is that mountain range in the middle not phallic enough for you? It's named The Leaky Tower. I'm not making this up.
WTDWTF decided to live at location 3 on this map:

Shootin' that barrel of fish working out for you?
It's not very sporting, but fun in its own way.

**Strong Textstatus um, WTF, let's try that again...
Status: woke up at exactly 730 today without aid of alarm clock. Also went back to sleep at 733 without aid of alarm clock.
Unfortunately this behaviour isn't desired.

"installing a web app in a server can't be that hard", I thought.
Oh come on is this serious?
-
status: ADSL still out. I don't know how longer I can survive this

Status: What just happened?

Quick, someone put together a WTDWTF care pack for @fbmac.
Let's see.
I think we need:
- 5 raging flamewars
- 4 derailed posts
- 3 blakeyrants
- 2 whoosh badges
- and a whole bunch of server cooties.
-
Oooon the fifth day of Christmas,
Jeff Atwood sent to me...- 5 raging flamewars
- 4 derailed posts
- 3 blakeyrants
- 2 whoosh badges
- and a whole bunch of server cooties.
-
- 5 raging flamewars
Poetry nitpicking: plain old “5 flamewars” works better with the scansion of the original song.
-
Oh come on is this serious?
Oh right. Composer.
It's super easy, actually. Just go to the link and copy paste the thing into the console.
No need for tears.
-
What just happened?
The printer just spewed out a few pages and somewhere a lady without razor sheds a tear because we won't be making those Paris commitments by printing out stupid shit.
-
-
ADSL is back, I survived. That was a close one
-
Well, it depends on how much you drag out those gol-den riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings

Iron Mountain is a secure document handling company. They store things as well as dispose of them. Mostly paper things.
For some definition of secure. Until they lose a shit-ton of expensive-to-replace documents in a fire.

Status: so, my technically oblivious roommate is at it again. She knocks on my door, panicked:
"I was just trying to move a file, and suddenly Word opened like a hundred times! I must have a virus! Help!"
I take a look at the PC - yep, 70 instances of Word trying to open on a rusty WinXP machine. Can't check the pendrive for any viruses, can't even open Explorer at this point, so I just press Reset on the case and look at the PC booting up.
clickclickclickclickclickclickclick
Huh. That sounds... familiar.
clickclickclickclickclick-...
The clicking stopped, and I managed to solve the problem before Windows even loaded.
By unsticking the Enter key.
Are you sure she isn't hiting on you? There were a few times when I was younger that I didn't realize girls real intentions.
-
Ah yes, the old mating ritual of the sticky-keyboard; 60% of the time it works every time.
-
Are you sure she isn't hiting on you?
Dude, I have my photo on the main site. Let's say - unlikely.
-
Ah yes, the old mating ritual of the sticky-keyboard
Well, let's say it works a bit better when you're not a male. Otherwise it just invites the question of why exactly the keyboard is sticky.
-
It came from the factory that way, honest! Dell just refuses to replace it!!!

Status: day 8 or 9 of constant wind/rain storms here in Snohomish County. Getting kind of sick of it.
-
You could move to Dry Top. Then at least there wouldn't be rain.
-
Oh look I just got the wind advisory:
How timely. They issued it only about 10-15 minutes after the first 50 MPH gusts.
-
Dude, I have my photo on the main site. Let's say - unlikely.
Who knows. Maybe she's into that whole Rasputin look.

@Maciejasjmj, wanna join @FrostCat as a dwarven child?

Oh shit. Upgrading to Windows 10. "Your PC will restart several times."
-
LIES!
(It only restarts once IIRC)
-
Well, it has already restarted once to get to this point.
-
Progress indicator got hip to about 30 percent and then the system rebooted. That's2 so far.
-
When I did it, it only restarted once, but refused to auto-detect my second monitor until I'd manually restarted it a second time.
So I guess it's kind of a true statement.
-
Watching the progress ( on my primary monitor), my mouse cursor is trapped on the other monitor.
-
Reboot number 3 at 75 percent.
-
That was the last one...
-
Do one more just to be safe. I recall something fucking up pretty soon after I upgraded to 10.
-
That was the last one...
Now get ready either for the horror other people have described or for it to work fine, your notwithstanding.
I'm curious if you got the release build or the November update (build 10586), but I bet you got the release and then will get an update later, because MS never seems to update their installers.
-
Do one more just to be safe.
I did! But then I went with the default in Grub and I'm no longer running Windows. I'll boot it up in another few months to run updates, I'm sure.

Let me know how I can figure that out in a few months when I boot it up again and I'd be happy to tell you.
-
But then I went with the default in Grub
Windows doesn't override the bootloader anymore?
