so what if my body image actually matches my body?!
Then you should be ashamed. Very ashamed.

I love how searching for "Check for Updates" ignores the Windows Update application and searches the web for "Check for Updates Windows 10" as if it somehow knows this doesn't work.
-
OK wtf cortana? Discoursistancy!!!!
(Yes this is the same computer. I have literally done nothing but search for "Windows Update")

I love how one of the results is "check for updates on mac".

You really liked Metal Slug 5 so much you stayed up late and played it twice, but skipped Metal Slug 2?

damn SJWs ruining everything.... so what if my body image actually matches my body?!
Then you'll probably get attacked by a coyote at some point in the not-too distant future.

The best match changes, but usually only if you click on one. Weird.

In that case you're cis scum and should check your privilege.
Am I doing that right?
-
In that case you're cis scum and should check your privilege.
E_CIS_NOT_FOUND (seriously, but that's a story for another
PM)furthermore an E_PRIVILEGE_NOT_FOUND was encountered while trying to process the previous error.

You sure as fuck don't look like that.

You sure as fuck don't look like that.
She also didn't explicitly say that either.
Actually, I think the picture was more for the expression, and not a direct representation of real-world physiology.@accalia: Doesn't stop you from being sexy in any case!

That wasn't even close to what I meant.

I'm sorry, this conversation thread seems to have fallen off the stack. What are we talking about?

You sure as fuck don't look like that.
nor do you look like your chosen avatar. and yet that is the image i think of when i hear the name Blakeyrat.
funny how things work like that.

oh hush you! you'll make my girlfriend jealous! (please continue)

STATUS: I'm trying to save RAM on my little almost-static-site project, so I'm going bare metal this time. No express, no unnecessary ceremony.
Here's a pretty complete static server implementation in node.
Today, after debugging video playback issues on iOS devices for 2 hours:
WTF WAS I THINKING!?
Mental note: Never ever ever do stupid shit like that again. Ever.

oh hush you! you'll make my girlfriend jealous!
What happened to your girlfriend anyway? I haven't seen her around recently.

I fail to see how asking those no longer alive to refrain from posting is bad, especially after it had already come up.

Status: so tired of hacking around shitzen inconsistencies. Got this ticket about handling the situation where the player is reproducing a movie and the media server crashes. All the TVs raise a network error and it's all fine, we show an error dialog and back.
Shitzen? Shitzen thinks that since no more chunks are coming that the stream is done, and instead of an error event, it raises a "finished" event which is handled as a nice clean up and no error.

Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.
Uh. Good job .net linker?
-
Did that last week. Is it in the GAC at least?
Also, this is on a separate PC than the build machine, I'm assuming?

Nope.

Nope.
Just the .net linker shitting itself.
-
Just
Nice. Well, have fun digging through shit I guess?
-
Status: replacing old posts for new ones to avoid ants.
-
Actually maybe not, it just occurred to me that the app runs fine until the third worker thread starts, then all of a sudden the linker can't find any DLLs.
This is going to be a fun one, I can already tell.
EDIT: ah lovely, the actual error was that the thread wasn't being added to the "monitor" that waits until all the threads are complete; therefore its parent thread was dying before the child thread, orphaning it, and at that point it's no wonder the linker shat itself.
I should keep a blog of Incredibly Unhelpful Error Messages, because it seems I'm more often a victim of these than most people.
EDIT EDIT: No wait that didn't solve it. Awesome. Back to digging...
EDIT EDIT EDIT: Ok the thread thing, and also telling Nuget to uninstall and reinstall and also knocking on wood and also throwing some salt over my shoulder seems to have fixed it. Which is good because the next step was "reboot computer" and it takes forever to boot.
-
Uh. Good job .net linker?
You think that's bad, try using a bindingRedirect and then discovering that the shitheads who wrote the assembly you're trying to use changed the public key token.

Status: Why do these people represent nulls as "[space][space][space][Asterisk]"?!
-
because that's way easier than "N-U-L-L"
-
easier than "N-U-L-L"
Or just "" Empty Record. Since, if it were a string, it would be in quotes, otherwise everything between the field separators is supposed to be of the data type we're expecting (i.e. not a symbol or letter if we're expecting unsigned integers).
[Bulk Insert Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Bulk load data conversion error (type mismatch or invalid character for the specified codepage) for row 778, column 9 (Unit).".
-
type mismatch or invalid character for the specified codepage
Whenever an error message has "or" in it, that tells me the system doesn't have a way of knowing which error happened, which is a bad sign.
-
-
Oh I thought this was in comments or specifications or something. In the actual records, NULL isn't denoted by, well, NULL?
-
-
Cram it. This is a work laptop, and they put spinning rust in it for some fucking reason.

Status: Tonight we decorated the Xmas tree and the wife turned on Pandora Xmas music.
I hereby demand that @Lorne_Kates apologize for Celine Dion and each of her Xmas albums specifically. I will never forgive the Canadian people for unleashing her here. That is an act of aggression and nothing would warrant it.

I see these sorts of errors get fixed by nuget uninstall/reinstall A FUCKING LOT. I always figured it was just me being a n00b so I never mentioned it.
-
You are appropriating the Canadian music, unless you decorate your trees with flag, and get rid of your guns, in order to truly appreciate the peaceful Canadian culture that @Lorne_Kates is from.

I think it says a lot that they even HAVE a CLI option that does an uninstall immediately followed by an install. They kind of knew there was a problem, or that wouldn't exist.
-
NuGet is pretty amateur hour. I'm waiting on a bug where if you run multiple copies of NuGet.exe in parallel on pack operations (you know, like if you had MSBuild running Nuget packs and doing parallel builds because you don't want to wait a thousand years for your build server to churn through things linearly), the first one to exit will stamp on some resources the other ones are using.

Status: Jellypotato in web-based course management software used by my college. I am not amused.
It's a fairly crappy piece of software that's only just now replaced an even older crappier piece of software that looked like it was made in the early 90s...
But now it's Discourse-slow and jellypotatoes all over the place.
If I didn't know better, I'd suspect the Discourse team had a hand in this...
Filed Under: before it was only half a discourse slow. No jellypotato though
