Yesterday I binged on sushi, then went to the gym and ran for an hour, did strength training for half an hour, and swam laps for 15 minutes.
A breath test says I'm already in ketosis again. The number on the scale jumped up a bit but it should fall back down again soon.

@izzion Two years ago I placed an order from a desktop and had the same experience with missing e-mails. It's like they're trying to punish people that don't like the torture that is mobile browsing.

Status: Businesses that aren't doing well should reexamine their hours. GameStop opening at 10 and closing at 7 doesn't really give an 8-5er much of an opportunity to shop there.

OTOH, if it was because someone was disappointed the saga was over, I have great news for you. I have the printer, but not the wash/cure machine or the 3kg of resin I ordered.
I got in touch with them by email. (They're in China, so there's a 24 hour turnaround on email exchanges.) The Wash&Cure machine and spare FEP film was supposed to ship today, but no shipping notification. (Last time, I got a notification when it left a warehouse in CA for TX, but nothing for 3 weeks between acknowledging the order and shipping from CA, during which time I suppose it was en route from CN to CA, but notification of that.) The resin is out of stock, so .

Is this passive aggressive enough? If not, how can I make it moreso? Keep in mind 1 and 2 are screens that say variations of "to get started with invoices, click the invoice button" with big red arrows pointing at said buttons.
-
@Zenith said in The Official Status Thread:

Is this for the idiot who you want to pay but who is apparently incapable of sending you an invoice? You could make it more aggressive-aggressive by throwing in a few gratuitous but accurate insults. "Click here, idiot."
-
Not good enough. You need to number those items. Otherwise, how is he supposed to know that he should fill those fields before clicking on Send?

@HardwareGeek I was thinking of ending the e-mail with "if you're still having trouble figuring this out, try asking an elderly relative for help."
Status: eBay's replacement for File Exchange, as predicted, sucks. It doesn't let you pick a start date and end date anymore. Instead, you get the typically useless options of yesterday, last week, last month, last 90 days, etc that force you to run the report on specific days. There's a scheduling option but when the report will run is not revealed. Does a monthly report run at the beginning or end? Or if I schedule it today, is it the 16th of every month? Who knows!
So anyway I went to run a report manually for 90 days because I needed 30-60 days ago. The list of completed downloads shows no useful information. There's a file name with the run date, a column with the run date, and a link. Nobody thought to include the type of download (sold, paid, shipped, etc) or period covered. You also don't have the option of a compressed file anymore. When you download the CSV, they made the format of the same data incompatible. The old format was just a table with the first row having column names. The new format? A garbage character, a row of columns, a blank row, the data, a blank row, and summary junk. The summary junk (number of records and seller ID) is useless and breaks any sort of automated importing. Also reverse chronological order now because why not. Just awful.
And there's still no way to get a report delivered to you. What I really want is a report that runs last last month (enough time for delivery/feedback to fill in) and is attached to an e-mail. Then I wouldn't have to remember to run the report before eBay disappears the data and wouldn't have to manually set dates when I do. It would actually be useful automation and that's why they can't/won't do it.

Shopping for Father's Day.
My dad is really into guitars - playing them and building them - so that seems like an easy gift idea... The problem is, over the years, I'm pretty sure I've bought him just about everything sold at Guitar Center. I think I found a guitar accessory he'll like, but worried he either already has one, or - worse - I've already gifted him one.
I can't even keep track.

Initial prescription: $800
Refill: $15

He'd love it. A bit out of the Father's Day budget. But maybe I'll get him a simulator pedal for Christmas or something.

One option is consumables: strings, wood polish, fast fret (if he uses it), etc.
Another option is gimmicky-but-fun stuff: UV-glowing strings, really weird effect pedals...

I got an email from Home Depot saying my order had been delayed, and they'd try to ship it within 5 business days.
After the grill saga, that's more proof that you have a personal Delivery Distortion Field.
Actual arrival: Today, 16 June. It's before the 21st. Not that I'm complaining about getting it 5 days earlier than I expected it, but I pretty much can't believe any delivery estimate any more.

Status: I have applied for two positions at a company that is not WTFHelpdesk. I haven't applied for another company in over 12 years...but at this point the positions at this other company (that my roommate works for) would likely pay more and also not require me to possibly have to fly anywhere once the whole COVID situation is over.
One's for a Scrum Master position and the other is for a Sr. QA Engineer position. I'm not specifically experienced with Scrum, but I've read up some on it and from what I understand they don't necessarily adhere to it 100% anyway, depending on the team. As for QA, while I may not be able to code, I hang out with you lot so I'm sure I could pick up whatever I needed to relatively quickly. I hope that's enough. WTFHelpdesk is getting too crazy and it's actually overriding my natural instinct to just be content getting paid enough to not die.

status Just got a text from PG&E. Evidently my power is out and is expected to be back in 3hrs. <looks around...> Guess my power is magic.
edit: Just looked at the outage map. Jeez people - that outage isn't even close to me (about a mile away).

@dcon It's PG&E; they just haven't gotten around to shutting yours off, yet. Soon.

Hahaha ha have fun... whee, hahaha, etc.
The CRX layer was pretty sane, assuming it still exists. Sling was downright tolerable. Up in the Adobe code itself, it's a rich and vibrant heteroglot ecosystem after the fashion of an Oktoberfest vomit lake.

The nice part is, it's very expensive. So its presence tends to indicate a decent rate.
