I got an email from Home Depot saying my order had been delayed, and they'd try to ship it within 5 business days.
After the grill saga, that's more proof that you have a personal Delivery Distortion Field.
And my 3D printer is now in the DDF. It's due to arrive Saturday via FedEx, which is (I hope) a little more reliable than Walmart's direct-from-store delivery.
Status: Disappoint. FedEx just delivered the extra string for my string trimmer (that I have to return, because I didn't realize until I got the trimmer and read the instructions () that it wouldn't work with the heavier-duty (larger diameter) string). But not the 3D printer. It's now scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
(updates parameter weightings, slightly)

Two weeks on the new meds.
They haven't completely solved my problems, but the sense of impending doom/dread that has been looming over me for as far back as I can remember is gone. Which is letting me focus more on the present and enjoy life. Literally life-changing for me.
Oh, and I've discovered that sometimes that anxiety was the main thing motivating me to get things done, so I need to make sure I don't go full hypnotherapy Office Space and stop working etc.
-
@HardwareGeek Why in the world would anyone downvote that?
I'm going to assume it was a mis-tap on a phone.OTOH, if it was because someone was disappointed the saga was over, I have great news for you. I have the printer, but not the wash/cure machine or the 3kg of resin I ordered.
-
@error said in The Official Status Thread:

A certain (small) amount of anxiety about specific things is good. Too much, or about insignificant things, of course, is not, but we humans need something to motivate us. It's better if it's enthusiasm about a good thing, but sometimes it takes fear of a bad thing to do the trick.

I forgot I'd put my morning mug of tea in the freezer when I went back to bed after church. It is now rather more solid and less drinkable than I'd planned.

See if you can dehydrate it directly from the frozen state and make a tea aerogel. Seems the next logical step from drinking tea in the first place.

Like 6, 7 pounds of gray goop showed up on my porch this morning. Not sure what to do with it. It tastes terrible, won't dissolve, and I can't keep it lit.

Oh hey, a rescue installation of Windows 95! I wonder if I have the kicker floppy for it somewhere...
Also, apparently a part-2 of a split zip for which I no longer have the remaining parts.

That's called Canadian tea

False alarm. That's what it was supposed to be, but the files indicate more of an HP recovery CD that was imperfectly copied?
Anyways, running a read-write maintenance pattern now.
Evacuated 5 disks that had data, 14 empty.
Anyone wanna buy some used Zip disks?

Status: Using ZFS on devices with terrible access times (say, a Zip disk, floppy disk, or even a DVD-RAM disc) is a terrible idea.
Would not recommend.
Considering the nominal sequential read speed is on average 830KiB/s, this is.... not great.

Science can no longer be done....
Something is wrong with how this build is interpreting the volumes blocks or whatever after I exported the pool, and so it won't import it anymore.
It works on stable Linux/BSD versions though. For reasons I don't quite know,
snap
applications can't access it so I guess play time is done...

Windows, ZFS, and two+ decades old storage technologies.

Learn better words, sounding more like a medical diagnosis. What about:
Hypocaffeineaemia
Then put "acute" or "chronic" in front of it.
Not sure in which section of the ICD10 codes to place it. Perhaps "F"?

Way back when, when I was working at a company putting internet on a phone, we scheduled it to reboot at 3a because actually fixing the memory leak was too difficult. Ah, Windows CE. I don't think that ever made it to market. (Neither did the company)

I've seen a few servers doing the same.
I also had managers abridge tell me I couldn't call a memory leak a memory leak because we were forbidden from releasing with memory leaks. I told them they were welcome to call or whatever they wanted, but it is a memory leak and I would keep calling it a memory leak.

And from what I remember, the Windows CE phones that did make it to market weren't any better.

My ex-wife and I had over 100 rose bushes in our yard, and I was the chief digger, pruner and general caretaker of them. BTDT countless times. There are significant differences in the nastiness of the thorns between different varieties. At the time, I could have told you by name which ones were especially nasty, but it's been over 10 years since we sold that house and the roses that were planted there, so I'm afraid I've forgotten a lot of that.
-
@HardwareGeek fascinating. Do you recall the house numbering scheme?

Status: Took a .NET 4.7 assessment around midnight after a day of stocking shelves and scored a solid B/B+ overall. As expected, the more it drifted to ASP.NET Core and assorted 4.7 trivia, that's where I faltered, but still landed in the "strong" range on the scale. Not bad considering most of my real work is more or less in the 2.0 Framework...
-
@error Ah, so you need a new check engine light. That'll be $500 and $150 labor.

Status: The absolute state of web development.
I order something online with my phone. Credit card goes through no problem. Two e-mails, one with my order details and one with the PayPal transaction.
A week later realize I forgot something. Go to the same storefront except on a desktop. Can't charge the same card because reasons and have to go through extra PayPal screen which does accepts said card. One e-mail, the transaction from PayPal.
20 years of "hur dur separation of concerns" screeching from Googlites and what should be a modified UI on the same backend acts completely different for no reason.

But when 10000 customers all hit at once, the site would have been ready. Except all the services are talking to the same underprovisioned SharePoint atrocity, and none of them work properly.
