Status: Second time this week it crashed and took my tabs with it. Heckuva job Chromie!
@Lorne-Kates Good old Firefox 24, still chugging along after three years and several hard reboots.
Edit: Fuck you Pale Moon. Don't tell me 25.7 (which can't do TDWTF) is up to date when 28.12 is out. Downloading Brave and Torch, hoping at least one of them shits the bed less often than Chrome.
Edit: Neither of you is off to a strong start not asking me where I want to install.
Edit: Also Torch doesn't appear to do anything but draw a black box on Windows 7.
Edit: And that it includes the uninstaller. For crying out loud. I was lucky the dialog was simple enough that I could guess where the "yes, flush this turd" button was positioned.

Status: Due to COVID, 99% of Meetup.com events are now online only, which just doesn't work for making friends. The rest are all within downtown area, which I have absolutely no intention of going through late in the evening. My social circles in the city I live in currently consist of zero people. As if I needed any more reasons to hate 2020.

Status: This morning's bad pun which sadly does not work in english: Mycket spänning på tågstationen idag. Timber from a passing timber train tore down the overhead line, making it hang down within grabbing distance if you'd go onto the track, which is obviously very much not good. At least I think the power cut off when it happened as the train stopped. So that's a total stop for all trains passing town. Good thing I take the bus.
No scheduled meetings today means all time for doing actual work! Woo! All of the planning time!

A lot of buzz at the train station, perhaps?

A bunch of years ago, we had something similar not too far from here, except it was improperly-secured scrap metal that tore the line down.

Status: Did what I slightly feared I was going to do and reactivated my FFXIV account a couple days ago. Now I remember why MMOs slightly annoy me: Trying to pick up my 55BLM/61RDM/30AST from the BLM point is...going to be challenging as the quest reward XP is rather miniscule compared to my XP required bar.
-
@e4tmyl33t if you're past there in the MSQ, roulettes are your friend. Side quests never give good XP.
Or Palace of the Dead, but that's mind numbing.
-
@Benjamin-Hall Yeah, my MSQ is up in the 60 range because I spent some time leveling as RDM when last I played. I decided to pick BLM back up this time because I like making things explode and the rotation isn't that hard (fire until just about out of mana, switch to ice until it recovers, intersperse with thunder for DOT)
Queue times suck though. I want to run around and get back into the world, not sit waiting 20 minutes at a time for queues to pop.

status Oh $deity. The change I was dreading to our
.clang-format
file just came thru. We're changing from a 4space indent to 2. So all PRs are going to be impossible to diff for a while (unless we just create a whitespace PR first)

Sounds like you got too many levels of indentation.

Status: This is intolerable. For some reason, Explorer is having a really difficult time showing context menus. Or menus in general. And printing is going bonkers just locking up. I don't understand why suddenly this PC just can't handle basic stuff.

I do have a pile of weird Unicode garbage in the top level of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. No idea how long that's been there though. Also Dropbox just won't get out of my startup list. I think this was the tenth time I've deleted it. And the scanner's been having trouble pretty much at random.

Your user profile is too old and the hive is getting too big. Best recreate it.

status: rain seems to have kicked the Internet. 😱
Granted, it is pretty heavy rain. But still, is the node broken or something?
-
@Tsaukpaetra yeah. I hit something last night, but Lord knows what it was. I heard it but never saw it.
Enough to flatten the tire though, apparently...

Status: Trying to save a LI profile is proving to be difficult. Brave is acting really strangely. It doesn't seem compatible with my PrintEdit/SaveEdit plugins from Chrome. It keeps chopping off random letters from the title and creating 0-byte XPS files that immediately disappear even outside of the plugins. Back to Chrome and it says it can't even print preview because the PDF driver is missing. All news to me because both worked just fine yesterday.
Edit: Beyond weird. They both now decide they can print to PDF. They cannot print LinkedIn pages to XPS, even if saved to HTML first. But they can print, say, a random JC Penney page to XPS. I have to find my Windows 7 Enterprise DVD and start over on another PC...

So your Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire is kinda mediocre because your Robust Decision-Making isn't fully up to snuff, so you went to the Bureau of Land Management to make things explode and create the require electrical signals for your DNS over TLS queries?

You just made me realize that the delays in implementing DNS over TLS cause significant damage over time.

Now that I'm seeing some of the other changes to style:
Max line length was 130?, now 80. All open parens, including functions, are now on the same line. Initializer list changed from comma first to comma last. I'm sure there's more, whatever. CtrlShiftI and save.

I like short line limits so I can have multiple files open at the same time. 100 is okay, 130 is too wide.
Initializer list changed from comma first to comma last
What does this mean?

Added some of the other new formatting
someclass::someclass() : var1(1) , var2(2) , var3(2) { // Some stuff }
to
someclass::someclass() : var1(1), var2(2), var3(2) { // Some stuff }

@dcon I figured. Ignoring the braces placement, I never understood the point of the former comma style. It just looks wrong and I see no benefit.
Is there any advantage I’m missing or is it purely a style choice?

Is there any advantage I’m missing or is it purely a style choice?Maybe making sure you can clearly see there's a comma there instead of maybe losing it at the end of a line, but to me that would just indicate someone not paying enough attention.
