Yeah but I couldn't remember what it was actually called, just several alternative nicknames.

@Tsaukpaetra eBay. Though, be forewarned, many before you have tried damned hard and still failed.

Status: Had the car in for a general maintenance last week. Because it’s a few years old they changed the oil and the spark plugs. Well, now the ignition doesn’t work correctly anymore, sounds like one cylinder doesn’t ignite.
So I guess I paid money for them to break things? Grrrr. Calling tomorrow.

Maybe they didn't get one spark plug wire quite seated all the way. That's happened to me before, took all of five seconds to correct it myself once I found it.

I figured as much, have no idea about it though (not a hardware guy). I looked under the hood and found three cable bundles going to the engine which I assumed are feeding the plugs, but didn’t see anything to wiggle at. With my last car I had such an issue and you could immediately tell the wires to the spark plugs and push the connector in a bit more to fix it.

I didn't know auto mechanics offshored their work...
-
@topspin They couldn't guarantee the quality of work on what they haven't fixed. Now they should... after you have paid for the breaking and will pay for the fixing

It's a fucking battery that needs to supply (apparently) less than 40 Watts of power for more than three seconds. This piece of shit seems to assume that if it's not drawing at least 100 Watts everything must be turned off and so it shuts itself off.
Spend more than three shiny beads and get something from APC with a serial or USB port.

Oh, nevermind; if they don't have three shiny beads then why are servers still up in the first place?

Oh, you probably have a transverse V-6 then. Been a long time since I worked on one of those, and reaching the back cylinder head was basically impossible without removing a bunch of important stuff and having hands the size of a small child's.

Status: Stomach is churning.
I got up early today because I thought it was a work day and wasted an hour waiting for a meeting nobody showed up for because it wasn't a work day. I've been mowing my lawn since then because inside is hotter than outside. At least the house has AC...my car doesn't. It's too costly to go to the parts changer, sorry, "mechanic," to fix the AC and too hot to drive an hour to Walmart for a can of nu-freon to make it through the summer. My mom is mad because something she wouldn't let me fix before is now suddenly a problem and I don't have time to look at it. Also I'm struggling between the decision of spending money to box up more of my house so I can move to Texas or saving money to make buying a new car plausible so I can tolerate life here.

No, it’s a small 3 cylinder. I just didn’t see the connectors, which really says more about me than the engine.

@topspin I bet you can drive faster than me illegally, too. The 3000 RPM redline limits my top speed to about 95 MPH.

Sounds more like a problem of gearing than redline. My car's governed at 155 and probably tops out around 180 without said governor, but top gear redlines around 220MPH last I ran the numbers.

Depends on how much you care about mods. It's sort of a Python 2 vs. Python 3 problem. Do you pick the old, crappy version with broader support, or the new, better, more performant version that has little outside support?

Now I gotta figure out how to delete attachments from gmail messages again. Two gigs of emails and most of that is probably crap footers and shit...

That’s the problem when you buy / sign up for something that’s “forever” / “lifetime” / whatever. They’ll either just alter the deal (pray yada yada) or abandon the product and re-release it under a different name / version so they don’t need to comply.

From what I've seen, there exist proxy servers that allow Bedrock clients to Java servers, though I haven't done a ton of investigation into what feature compatibility looks like in that setup. Though even those wouldn't help the Switch, since the Switch doesn't allow custom server connections and can basically only connect to Realms or a few other whitelisted hosting providers.

I'd be doing it on one of my PCs (maybe both unless that requires two licenses) and mostly doing local servers just to play around. And maybe learn Java writing mods, but ewww, Java.

When and with what variant did you sign up? General free GMail has always had a limit; it started at 1 GB and went up over time to 15 GB (and stopped there) many years ago.

It was unlimited messages. Attachments counted against your limit, but emails themselves (so long as they didn't have attachments) basically didn't (since, you know, how many millions of 2kb messages can you fit in a gig?) it was effectively unlimited.
But that was of course way before you had actual file uploads support with things like Drive, and GmailFS was a real thing.

3 cylinders and an electric turbo. Supposedly a modern 900cc 3-cylinder turbo gives better performance and mileage than the 1200cc 4-cylinder engines which were common 10 years ago.

status at the office sitting at my desk ... wtf this is weird ...

Not sure if this should go in programming confessions, but it wasn't exactly intentional:
I've long had the grumpy-cat-ified version of Raymond Chen's "I wrote two lines of code today. They were both wrong." as a wallpaper (originally found in the comments that MS's brill
iant content management managed to disappear). Seems like I've outdone that. A few days ago I wrote this line:bool append = first_output && single_file;
There's two bugs in this line.
Edit: No, apparently there's one bug in this line and one in my brain for managing to get this wrong twice!

Supposedly perhaps, but the real reason I3 are used is that they are cheaper to make than I4. Mileage is mostly down to improved cheating on mileage standards and overall engine design improvement.
