The internet thought it might be a dominance thing and suggested sprinkling pepper over the bottom so the cat would step in it, notice, and then do the normal cat thing of cleaning it's paws and get negative reinforcement.
I used habanero powder and Poppy disappeared for a day or so, we didn't have any futher poop-related events after that.So it suggested that you use (black) pepper, and you thought it would be funny to use habanero instead.

Absolutely not, I tried black pepper first, and paprika, with no effect at all. I love my cats and wouldn't hurt them. This was pretty much a last resort, if she wouldn't accept my girlfriend then I would have had to have re-homed her. The girlfriend left me for a minor celebrity, but Pops is still here and loved a great deal.

Okay, thanks. There's still a lot of room between paprika (which is mostly for color and is milder than black pepper) and habanero, but I understand if you didn't have anything in the house that was in between.

That may be country dependant, paprika here is far more fierce than black pepper.

The cooking thread is occupied.
But since this is apparently now the status thread, I propose moving all future discussion here.

They're used to that though, it's why they have a no-hassle return policy.

Paprika tastes pretty great, but for me it doesn't feel hot at all. And that as a person who doesn't like (spicy) hot things.
EDIT: Eh, false friend, never mind me. What I think of as "Paprika" in German is the thing before it's ground, so I was talking about bell pepper.

That really depends on the particular variety. I've had everything from not actually spicy at all up to severe ring sting.
Also FTFM; while the color is a nice side effect, the taste of good paprika is delicious.

TIL, I'd never looked up exactly what it was before. I like smoked paprika in stews, delicious.

@mott555 there's actually a shit ton more than that in Texas, so much that they're declared vermin and anyone can hunt them without a license and there's no season. Combine that with how easy it is to own a rifle and how much wilderness there is and how delicious ham is, and you get a really fun state to live in.

Would it really take that much processing power? You're not encrypting top-secret military information, you just want to make it not worth the trouble for the average user to decrypt it to get around paying the fee. Encryption takes less processing than decrypting if you don't know the key.

I think the suggestion was using cryptocurrency for payment (where inefficiency is a feature),.
