Just let everyone else enjoy the joke... sheesh.
Exactly. Let them enjoy it. Don't destroy it with badly made up story.
Yeah, destroy it instead with a silly rant about how you are easily distracted by certain common comedic stylings.

@boomzilla can't break something if it's already broken.

@Gąska Orrrrrrr, the "bullshit cover story" was what actually happened
Does anyone actually believe it? Is forgetting to open the vents so noteworthy that you tweet it out? I think even an absolute attention whore wouldn't do that. The joke is very funny. It absolutely is something you would tweet. It could be tweeted on its own. As such, it is basically guaranteed that the main content is the joke, not the story. So the story was just added on top of a pretty good joke. And because it's structured like a setup, it's very likely it was completely made up. Because people tell jokes regardless of whether they're connected to their lives or not. And the probability they've thought of this joke right after opening the vents after a period of wondering why the air doesn't blow, is miniscule compared to the probability they've thought of it at literally any other moment in their lives.
This bullshit cover story made something genuinely funny, less funny.
I thought it was all a setup for the "hey, that looks like an email and bacon symbol" dad joke. Because telling that without the introduction would have been even more awkward.
Every car I've ever been in, it's always been one or the other. Email or bacon.
So I was thinking, why not both?! Someone should invent a way to combine bacon with email. They'd be an instant millionaire.

Can you imagine a world with Email Bacon?

@Gąska This has to be the Polish way to react to a joke.
The German one would be to simply go: "What?"

@Rhywden isn't that the same?

I just wondered about that myself.

There's a very important difference.

If you're German, we slightly pity you for your medical condition.

If you aren't but you're still being serious:
-
-
@JBert so when I'm being way too serious about a stupid twit's stupid tweets, I'm only making people laugh more? Sounds like a win-win!

@Gąska Ho Ho Ho. Santa forgives you.

@Gribnit good jerb Santa - processing the case after the deadline has long passed! To hell with such forgiveness.

I only do this gig during the holidays. For reasons.

@JBert So he was at an airforce base of the same name? That's rather tasteless IMO.
-
@PleegWat I don't get your point? Also, there's one character difference: the band has got an extra 'm' in its name.

Yeah I don't think letters make it past the tokenizer
-
@PleegWat Hint: he was there, but the tweet is fake.
Although with him you can never be sure.
-
@topspin Wait. People make fake trump tweets? The real ones aren't bad enough?

@PleegWat
Welcome to the Internet, time traveler!I'm not sure there's a horse and buggy analogy you're going to be able to use to explain things to people when you go back home, though...

@Tsaukpaetra That's the exact face I make when the manager at the annual appraisal meeting goes from "You did an amazing job this year" to "BUT unfortunately blah blah blah blah no raise"

Implied by the graph. Also, I'm surprised zebraforce was the least voted option.
-
@anotherusername Worst is that "watts" and "rate at which work is done" give the answer away, even if you'd never heard of "horsepower" before.

I love when people say "roughly equal" and then provide three significant digits.
-
@Gąska But 746 is not an exact number of watts in one donkeystrength, so how else would you describe it without being wrong? Would you prefer "roughly 750"?

I'd be right up to three significant digits. That's the most anyone will ever care about. If it annoys pedantic dickweeds, well, I consider it an added value.
Would you prefer "roughly 750"?
By far.

@boomzilla it's impressive that he still gave it a 2/10. What would it take for him to score a movie 1/10?

The latest rendition of The ABC Murders it seems...
(For the interested, read the thread from that second.)

Seriously? Probably scaled (in a dumb way) from a 1–5 star rating scheme when the review was given.
