Your PowerShell stays open after executing a script? Nifty!
-
@Tsaukpaetra No, it doesn't. Why would you put that in a script? That's a run-once sort of thing.

Why would you leave the application open for a run-once sort of thing?

Oh, you mean
cd .. rmdir /q /s WindowsServer mklink /J WindowsServer \\bob\shared\t\WindowsServer

I'll try it, but I'm not sure how well Samba will take random file writes...
Sounds like a bad idea. Working locally and copying to remote once should be faster than working remotely. The linker has to read the written files at least once.
Of course you could make the copy a post-build action.

Status: Today the planning tool is down again. Cue major annoyance and ongoing email chain from anyone needing to use it for administrative purposes and eyerolls and sarcastic comments from anyone who just needs to use it to check schedules and info messages.
In other news, trying to contact health care for ongoing problems gets me stuck in red tape hell.
: Physiotherapist told me that if problems continued I needed to talk to a specialist.
: But you did say your new soles did help.
: Yes, in that it takes a few minutes longer for the pain to trigger when walking, but it did nothing about the pain when resting which is why I'm calling.
: But the soles did help and proper order means you have to talk to a physiotherapist before anything else. I have scheduled a phonecall and they will call you at 15:24.
And yes, she did give me that exact time. And my right arm is still feeling funny after friday where I got sent to ER due to onset of numbness and weakness in it, which is not how I planned to spend that day off work.
And then I should decide on a new laptop, where the difficult part is deciding how much storage I need especially as storage tend to be the most expensive part in the lightweight category even if I wouldn't be looking at MacBooks. 512GB feels a bit tight, 1TB at least for futureproofing is my idea.

Funny you should mention this in specificity. My own right-arm has registered an unusual fatigue for the past 49 minutes, I've been trying to assess blood flow but have no accurate measurement routines available, and motor functionality is only partially reduced. I suspect a pinched nerve in my shoulder...
-
@Tsaukpaetra Given that it's 2:44 your time, maybe you're just seriously tired.
-
@Tsaukpaetra I dunno what happened exactly. I had a similar thing once before where I also got sent to ER and in both occasions they found nothing wrong. I did get amused by the fact that they decided to take the blood samples from the numb arm so I hardly felt the needle going in.
All in all, the right side of my body is aching pretty much atm. The right arm as the effects are still lingering from friday and my right leg because of the resting pains lasting for quite a bit after getting up when I get them. Oh, and the resting pains broke my sleep pretty well. Thankfully I can go home early today and get rested.

@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:

In this case, it was a problem when I turned the speed up on the request-generating side so that the receiver was dropping more packets and the sequence number management code was looping round and colliding with itself before timeouts reaped it all. So yes, it was a problem. Goes to show that copying someone else's code doesn't mean that the result works; performance differences can make a big difference too. (In this case, they were exposing a bug that actually already existed, but which Python wasn't fast enough to commonly exercise and which Java could hit easily.)

@Atazhaia Spoke to the physiotherapist (who called at 15:16, not the promised 15:24) and he just repeated what was said the last time: that the next step is to talk to a doctor.
So now I get to call the health clinic again so they can give me a time to meet a doctor instead. Yay for timewasting procedural stuff.

As far as I know, AZ only has one time zone, and it's a simple one, because it doesn't do DST.
It's the native lands in Arizona (which are "domestic dependent nations" and operate with sovereignty from the state/federal government) that have a clusterfuck of time zones.

@anotherusername Well, as a foreigner, everything within AZ counts as AZ for me, and that nested switching there is quite confusing.
Also, just traveling from NM to AZ was confusing enough because, wait, are they the same time zone or not? They would be if AZ did DST.I fucked up the canyon visit because I didn’t know, but even with hindsight I’d probably fuck it up again.
