Discovery in Attic Pushes Back Earliest Known Use of Computers in Powell Family, Granddaughter Announces
In a turn of events that has stunned the grandkids of Colin and Sara Powell, an archaeological dig in the family attic meant to find "your Dad's old high school yearbook, I'm sure it's up here somewhere", has uncovered evidence of personal computer usage in the Powell household dating to 1983, pushing back the use of digital electronics by over ten years.
The discovery of a box of Elephant Memory brand 5 1/4" floppy disks came as a surprise, as both Sara and her son Michael stated. "Oh, wow," Sara told reporters, "I completely forgot about that old thing, your father had that when he was your age". The disks show evidence of notching with a hole punch, indicating that they were used with primitive one-sided drives of the type thought to be used in Apple //e computers of the type described in old family legends.
Previously, the earliest physical evidence that the Powell family used computers was a Packard Bell manual dating to 1996. The younger members of the family were very surprised to find this new discovery, because "Dad is like the worst with computers, he can't even remember to run his anti-virus regularly and stuff."

A little later they walked back out because they couldn't find a table.

My birth certificate initials are BJ.
Not even kidding. I tried to go by it as a kid for a hot minute. I even made a sign for my door: "BJ's Room". My parents about died laughing, so I took it down, but I didn't find out why for like 7 or 8 years.

-
According to my birth certificate, my full name is J [lastname]. My parents thought my christening certificate overrode that legally

Nah, my legal name and my penname are only vaguely similar. On the bright side, they share a gender, so people don't question me too hard :D

@dcon That article makes no sense. "A lot of shows have a bad 4th or 5th season, therefore we should not bring Firefly back for a second season."
Regardless of whether or not you think bringing Firefly back for a second season would be a good idea, (and I'll keep my opinion on that subject to myself,) the argument being presented here is silly and illogical.
-
@masonwheeler It's been too long. It's attained a cult status which a second season cannot possibly live up to.

I think the film Serenity answered most of the big questions left with the cancellation of Firefly - pretty much as Joss Whedon intended. Especially as the film starts where the series ends - give or take a few days / weeks.
You could argue that it was a "cop-out", but if that is the case the cracks don't show and the paper holds up well.
The film does end the story, in that the big baddie is exposed, ok we don't get to see him getting kicked in the nuts but do you really need to see that? Anything after that would be contrived and certainly spoil the thing like <cough!>Star Trek Star Trek Reboot is great <cough!>
What I would like to see - because there is a hell of a lot of scope for it, it more back story.
INB4: And moar Kayleeeeee
