I did notice myself in the list of potential candidates for being murdered by aliens, although with my handle split into a first and last name which I found amusing. (Ataz Haia) Well, I suppose that works too! I wonder if I can advance to my IRL military rank of corporal and get the closest equivalent of my IRL military role (specialist) too...
Ah, I must have missed that one when I went through to remove first names using a combination of sed and xxd. Want me to change it to [no first name] Atazhaia to match the others?
Also, if anyone else wants a specific gender or nationality, ask now before I record more episodes!
You can change the name if you'd like! Also, if you're at it, i'm male and swedish, and a bearded one at that.

@ben_lubar looks like it uses Latin-1.
Do you have an easy way to check out how it looks like in other languages? If my theory is correct, 0xB1 should display ą correctly in certain Central Europe languages.

@ben_lubar I mean, did you change the language of the game beforehand? Because I think we're back to 2000s and different languages ship with different executable files that use different encoding.
Edit: note in this mod's description makes me believe I'm correct in this regard. It's about older XCOMs, but I think it applies here as well. So the only way for my name to appear in the game is... you playing the rest of the game in Polish (with complete voiceover!)

that gun.... is HUUUUUUUUUGE! like shoulder snapping wrist breaking fly over your shoulder and shoot the guy behind you with the recoil from the first shot huge....
it looks awesome but....
actually wait.... if it's that huge it will also be heavy... and heavy will acto to moderate the impulse from firing.... but if it was heavy enough to do that wouldn't it be too heave to casually hold like that?
also.... i'm not the worlds biggest gun nut or anything. Hell i havent fired anything more energetic than a BB gun, and even that was years ago.... but i do know this....
DUDE! YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGER INSIDE THE TRIGGER GUARD UNLESS YOU PLAN ON FIRING THE GUN RIGHT FUCKING NOW!
I've seen range instructors kick people off the range for walking around with their finger inside the trigger guard. And they're right to do so. you might think the safety is on, you might even be right, but you might be wrong too, and even if you are right I dont' know that the safety is on!

Reminds me of Paul Twister:
The world I’d found myself in was a lot like something you’d read in a fantasy story in many respects, but one thing that authors tend to get wrong a lot is horses. They treat them basically like a car, except it eats oats instead of gasoline, and occasionally poops at comedically appropriate moments, or startles or throws its rider at dramatically appropriate moments. But even so, it’s essentially a living car.
There are a couple problems with the horse-as-living-car theory. First, the “car” part. Even if it was a car, it would by definition only have a one horsepower engine. Sure, it’s not hauling around nearly as much chassis weight–the average adult horse weighs about one-half to one-third what a car does–but even so, it’s not nearly as strong as an automobile. And second, the “living” part. A horse is a mammal, like you and me. It isn’t powered by a one horsepower engine; it’s powered by muscles, lungs and a heart, like you and me. And that means that, just like you and me, it gets worn out pretty easily by physical exertion, such as continuous walking and running, and having to carry a heavy load wears it out even faster. Sure, those muscles, lungs and hearts are a lot bigger and tougher than a human’s, which gives them better strength and endurance, but they still get plenty worn out after a hard day’s work.
Anyway, the upshot is that it’s nothing for a car to do 60 miles per hour, and keep it up all day for several days in a row, from one end of the continent to the other, as long as you keep it fueled. A horse, on the other hand, has to be specially bred and trained for strength, speed and endurance to get you 60 miles in one day, and even then you’re not gonna get much use out of it the next day if you do. A sustainable pace over a long journey is closer to 30 miles per day. I had two, so I could ride one and let the other rest, (sort of; it still had to keep up with the one I was riding,) and that, plus the good roads that I’d been trying to get set up from my work at Stark Academy, could stretch my sustainable pace to about 40 miles per day… at the price of twice the food. A horse can get most of its food by grazing, but it still needs a fair amount of grain, maybe four or five pounds, every day in order to stay healthy. In other words, enough food to feed two horses for a month’s journey would weigh twice what I do, which means the one I’m not riding really doesn’t get much relief, at least not at the start of the journey. So instead of packing all the provisions, I’d need to get a small amount of them instead, and resupply at towns along the way. (Which is sort of like stopping for gas, I guess, but slower and heavier.)
So it’s not hard to see why cars ended up winning out over horses back home. I know I’d rather have one!
(In a later chapter, he and his traveling companion come to a place where they need to leave their horses behind for a while, and there's some discussion about figuring out what to do with them so they don't just wander off. They end up having to backtrack and leave them with the stables at the nearest town.)

Did they make proper modding API or is it still based on ripping apart compiled classes and monkey-patching stuff everywhere? Do all mods still break with every update?

Does Java support complex stack objects yet? Because you cannot have decent performance when every single object has to live on the heap and be garbage collected.

The source code for all the moddable classes are included in the SDK, but it looks like some kind of fucked up C++ replica language.

That's not Minecraft being coded badly. That's a regular game, which the community has made mods for. Forge is a proper modding API, and you almost never need to monkeypatch (and when you do, there's even APIs for that). And Microsoft is working on a modding API, yes. Meanwhile, I was talking about server-side mods; first Bukkit, now Sponge. Great APIs which do not involve you interfacing in any way with the base code.

You can if you have a good garbage collector. But you have completely missed the point.
