@carrievs The glass thing is less of a problem than the blur, which makes it legitimately hard to read things, and even at the center of vision isn't quite right.
But I suppose I can try. I like this thing a lot, and what it provides could be really convenient.
-
@magus It sounds like a calibration issue. Are there no options to tweak it?
If not, is it a faulty unit you can RMA?
-
@jaloopa Windows has a retinal distance option, but the device doesn't seem to respond when i change it (It's supposed to in real time, if Windows is to be believed, and not be an option for ones that don't support it). But yeah, miscalibration does seem like the thing I would guess is the problem.
I figure it may be best if I just wait for the Fall Creators Update, which is supposed to improve unexplained things for MR devices. Might help.

Fair enough.

@carrievs Seems like I got the IPD adjustment working, and I think it improved things a bit.

You know what the difference between

bool
is automatically coerced into afloat
when necessary...

status Dammit MS. Get your options right.
(updating VM to current insider build)- Click start (observe suggested apps are back, WTF?)
- Options, umm, no, they're off.
- Looks at Start again - no, they're there.
- Toggle option on, then off.
- Oh, look, the Start menu is right now.
Ponders what else was f'ed up on the last update... (I updated then shut vm down without doing anything)

Status: finally has a washer and dryer. The guys who were supposed to deliver it on Wednesday were lazy punks and decided that carrying it up a flight of stairs wouldn't work, so they made up all sorts of BS about it not fitting. The guys today said they've been picking up a lot of the other guys' slack. I'm glad I don't have their job though.

I'm positive this will get shot down.

@benjamin-hall the washer and dryer work. Yay. The air handler for the ac decided that it wanted to heavily clog its condensation drain line. Boo. Still not fully unclogged, but enough that I can cool the house to sleep. Maybe. If it doesn't fill up again. The joys of homeownership.

Here's the question @blakeyrat had: Did my local news station just find out that Fritz the cat existed?
Ok, what they found were some animations where vaguely Disney character shaped blobs were holding vaguely champagne bottle shaped blobs and then they censored several YouTube video search results pages so that you could see the blurry blobs of nothing.
Here, have some more interesting stuff:

Damn tourists coming here and eating our cat's food:

@mikael_svahnberg I didn't know @RaceProUK was such a glutton!
Although it does remind me of when my nieces found a hedgehog who had awakened too early one winter, so they kept it in their house until it was warm enough outside that it could be released. The cats were not impressed by the guest, as it tended to hiss angrily at them as well as being covered in sharp spines. Also, I would not recommend keeping a wild hedgehog as a pet. They make quite a mess and they smell bad. They also require careful cuddling.

In the UK, it's illegal to keep erinaceus europaeus as a pet anyway. If you want a pet hedgehog, you have to get an atelerix albiventris.

But does the hedgehog know this? I had to ward off the little ward from running into our bedroom to hide.

The cat food iwll be too meaty for the hare anyway ;)

Your fault for having a warm dark hiding place :P
In all seriousness though, if it does end up an issue, then a quick call to your equivalent of the RSPCA will point you in the right direction.

It was in a museum so I'm not sure if it's completely bespoke or not. It was a T34 simulator.
My sons played it for ages with no side-effects so it could be that I'm simply too old for this new-fangled stuff.
