Status: Our team, despite my best effort, decided to stop testing on Firefox and Edge, because the selenium webdrivers for them are so bad may as well not exist. 90% of the methods just flat-out don't function on them, or function differently.
If anyone here knows anyone who has ever submitted code to either of those webdrivers, please punch them in the face on my behalf.

Status: ...and my water cooler is dead. Time to tear the system apart, pull all of that out, box it up, ship it back to Corsair and wait a month while they turn around the replacement.
God. Damnit.
In the meantime, I get to hear what sounds like a vacuum cleaner running in the closet every time I run a compile cycle.

This is why you need to have aPC Master Race Gaming PCbackup work machine as well.

I swear to god man. This is fucking simple to fix on Windows but impossible on a Mac.

Ugh. Not even just during compile cycles, but that does make it worse. Now I remember why I went to water cooling. I already miss my nice, quiet office.

This brings me to something else that pisses me off. Having to pay shipping for them to replace their defective product. I hate when companies do that. Your product failed, you should provide me a shipping label at your expense. If you don't like that, tough shit. If it turns out to be my fault in some way for it failing, then charge me. But if your shitty product that has a 5-year warranty fails after 8 months, pay for shipping, you asshats.

You should configure them as blade distributed servers then. Could be a good pet project. :D

$26.50 to ship it.

Message flag? I'm assuming the kind that adds it to the "Tasks" folder?
Disclaimer: I don't have Outlook for Mac, but I'd expect it to be a matter of opening the message and fiddling with the menu options...
-
@tsaukpaetra It's not hard to do manually, I just want it automated :(

Doesn't Mac have some kind of "robot" thing that lets you automate tasks? Or did they get rid of that at some point?

Sure, it's easy. Just open the iOS mail app, swipe left on the message and unflag it from the "More" menu.
...oh, let me guess: your Outlook for Mac isn't synced with your iDevice?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
edit: what's "automatically" supposed to mean, anyway? How would it "automatically" know to clear the flag?

Well, there's AppleScript. I tried running an AppleScript once. It failed until I changed to system language to English, because apparently the script goes by whatever the window titles/button/controls displayed names are. Even though this script was modifying system settings and not any third-party programs.

On Windows, electron will use %APPDATA% to store everything, including large caches.
The issue was opened on electron's github repo years ago, but was marked "wontfix". They concluded the benefit wasn't worth the disruption it would cause.
So I have to remap it manually %LOCALAPPDATA%.I hate you slightly less for that. Slightly.

TIL typing LOCAL is one of the hardest tasks there is to do.
Everyone would have to migrate the existing data from roaming to local, or get stuck on an old version of electron.
...if it's just a cache, why migrate anything? Won't it repopulate itself after a while?

Even recognizably VS. Bonus points for not having her name in it like the last show's character did. Comments in Japanese, so this could actually be a real Japanese codebase. Interesting.
-
@magus After that, she showed someone where she was stuck, and they pointed out that there was an infinite loop here.
She fixed it. The toolbar is wrong, and they named it "DK Studio", and the title bar looks like bad win7/compatibility mode, but I give this show an A+ for having an actual coding bugfix in it!
-
@magus what show?
-
@tsaukpaetra New Game; the first episode of the second season came out today.
Also, it features @RaceProUK !
-
@magus how can foreach be infinite?
-
@gąska said in The Official Status Thread:
@magus how can foreach be infinite?
If you modify the collection during the iteration. It's not typically allowed, but hey, fiction! ;P
-
@gąska I only posted the broken one backwards as a reflection, and I don't know C++ all that well.
The straight-up editor image is of the fixed code.
-
@magus the reflection one has foreach too, and doesn't modify collection either.
It's like, they started making the first accurate programming-themed drama in the world, and then stopped in halfway and said "fuck it, it's too much work to invent real bugs, let's do whatever".
-
@gąska I actually think they mistranslated something along the lines of, 'it keeps going down' as 'its an infinite loop' - which would make sense if the translator doesn't know programming, and would be consistent with the damage calculation being inside the loop on accident.
-
@magus and that's why I want to learn Japanese.
-
@gąska a generator? Is that allowed in c++?
-
@gąska The very best part is that this is just some random side character who will probably be less important this season, being helped out by her old boss from when she was an intern in the first season. They detail it this well even then. They also show characters using software that's clearly meant to be Maya.
-
@gąska you don't know what it is, because now they are using roaming for everything. To do it properly, each individual app would have to have its own windows only migration, where they figure out what should remain in roaming and what should go into local.
I don't think many would care enough about windows to bother.

status: no, Newegg, I'm not shopping for none. I already bought it. Thanks.
In other news, now attempting to set up my Google Wi-Fi things. Let's see if it's dumb and manages to create a triple NAT!
-
@Magus @Gąska The bug was calling
DestroyMe()
inside the loop. That method should eventually activate the destructor on the object (probably by deleting all references to the object in the game), which would then destroy them_debufs
container, causing undefined behavior due to dereferencing deleted data on the next loop iteration. Notice that the fix is to move theDestroyMe()
call to outside the loop, so the object doesn't try to access its deleted data after it's been destroyed. Puttingbreak
afterDestroyMe()
would probably work as well.
-
@tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

Yep! Apparently you can't set it up properly to do the needful if you're doing multiple devices at a time. What ludicrously. Triple NAT wonders!

Yeah, I think I'm setting up a return.
What a load of bullshit.
This dude expresses my disappointment a lot nicer than I would right about now:

Fought this thing for close to several hours before finally calling the help desk to find out "You can't bridge and mesh". That's the whole reason I bought it, so I could mesh the wireless as APs. I too have a pretty beefy firewall gateway that I would much rather keep at the front end of my network than to place it behind (like suggested in the help topics). Mine arrived today and as excited as I was to receive it, it's become a huge $300 disappointment.
If the devs can speak up whether this will be resolved in the future, I'll hold out and hang onto them. Otherwise, I just assume send them back before my mid January time limit expires...
-
@tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:
, I think I'm setting up a return
I'm going to give it a solid chance first though. I researched that apparently the workaround is to add the devices as if they were new networks (but with the same settings) and then switch to bridge mode. Kinda hackish, but well see if it handles hard handover well enough that I'm not going to feel the need to destroy things...

I have no idea where you've got a generator from. Unless in your language, generator means a completely different thing than in every other one.

For power? Sure... but then you'd need a separate USB port for data connections, right? So... why the fuck not USB-C?
-
@anotherusername Even for power only, I would say that if something needs 5V it's much easier to find a replacement USB charger (right now mostly microUSB rather than USBC, but technology marches on) than whichever particular one of these the device uses:
