Literally just 54 seconds between the moment things start to definitely go wrong and the massive explosion.
No, things were definitely going wrong for a couple of hours already. They were doomed since the moment they decided to restart the reactor that had begun to shut down without letting it cool down completely (which would take something like two weeks).

So, if MS would advertise it more, you would buy more of them ?
Well, I've bought more Windows phones (3) than Android (1) and iOS (0), so yes :P
-
OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE CHROME WHY DID YOU DISCARD THE TAB I WAS WRITING STUFF ON? RIGHT AT THE MOMENT WHEN THERE'S NO INTERNET CONNECTION! I AM SO FUCKING TIRED OF EVERY ANDROID THING BEING RETARDED.
On the topic of WindowsPhone 1010 Mobile and WTFs:Wtf! I thought one of its biggest strengths was that devices would get a lot more updates? Windows as a service and all that?
What kind of driver support do you need? It's all just minor graphical updates!
I suppose they have given up completely.
So in conclusion, I am seriously considering buying an iPhone for the first time in my life. Also, NodeBB is not sending this fucking post, because there was no network when I hit send so now it's just stuck forever. What am I supposed to do now? God I hate computers.

What I usually do when the Submit button (or ">" on mobile) goes mental due to connectivity problems:- If on desktop: reload the topic by clicking into the URL bar and pressing Enter. If on mobile: reload from my bookmark and navigate back into the topic I was posting in
- Press the reply button, to recall my saved draft
- ???
- Press the submit button again
- GOTO 1 OR PROFIT!!!

I suppose they have given up completely. They list 13 devices, which sounds about right for the number of models out th-
...13 out of 42. That's 31%. Also pathetic.
Oh well, at least my Lumia 950 is on the list.
It really does look like Microsoft is deliberately shooting themselves in the foot over Windows Phone/Mobile. In fact, I'm surprised there's any foot left.

Don't hate computers. Hate the incompetents who program them.
Er, I mean the incompetents among the diverse group of people who are programmers, some of which are quite competent and nice and please don't hate me.

But that process involves like 800 HTTP requests, and any of them failing will leave the page in an inconsistent state. I was on a train with very spotty connectivity.

With the scanner so close to the camera there could be a tendency to get mucky fingerprints all over the lens.

FYI: camera lenses can take a TON of beating.

I didn't say it was a good process. I said it was the process I used.

My recent activity was buying an MHL to HDML adapter from Amazon.
I mean, sure, don't you want to buy another?
Edit: Hanzo'd.
But to add value: Obviously if the only thing you've ever been caught doing on the store is ordering the one thing, shirley you must want to continue doing the one thing?

I clicked on 3 Intel NUCs and checked their technical specifications.

Holy shit, they're using mind control now?

One has silicon graphics, one has yttrium graphics, but what the heck element is Ja?

@Scarlet_Manuka It's Spanish for "ha". Laughing at me for expecting a 180€ device to have a decent GPU.
-
@anonymous234 Did you happen to be on Mallorca at the time? Maybe they detected your location and decided you'd like random German words on a Spanish page.

IDK, once I installed the drivers it seemed to play 720p MP4s fine.

I used to select "Pin/SmartCard" popup option any time logging in our portal. Today I selected the wrong certificate (small variation in the name!). Then fucking Chrome refused to pop up the certificate selection altogether, and nothing helped (cleared cache, deleted certs, ...). Finally reinstalled Chrome!

Yeah. Not sure why it does that.

Maybe, but this is far from the only thing I've bought on Amazon. I've bought a bunch of 64GB micro sd cards, for myself and others, and yet I don't think I got any recommendations to buy more. Maybe they think I have enough now.

Discovered a class that's not used anywhere and the table that's supposed to store instances of it doesn't exist. First checked into source control in 2009.
-
...I just realized these pretzels are "from the makers of Rold Gold Pretzels" and not "Rold Gold Pretzels".
...so what brand are these?
... the plot thickens: the outer wrapper clearly says "With Rold Gold Pretzels"....

It's worse than that. That page is only the phones which started out with Windows 10. Others, like my Lumia 735 upgraded to it with no problems but it isn't on the list to get the Creators' Update (or presumably any after that either).
-
@Yamikuronue A quick Google led me to Frito-Lay ;)

Creators' Update
The Creator's Update is the one that forces the Sunday mass notifications onto your phone.
-
@Maciejasjmj Along with the mind control I think it's clear which OS the Lord prefers.
-
@RaceProUK You'd think "Fritos and Hummus" would sell more than "pretzels and hummus" tho..
-
@Yamikuronue Maybe pretzels are easier to dip?
-
@RaceProUK ...than Fritos?
-
@Yamikuronue Not a brand known over here

@Yamikuronue Looks tasty

So I decided to take a quick look at Paint 3D.
For whatever reason, Open hasn't been translated. Clicking the big empty white box does nothing. Clicking the small empty white box gives this:
I see. Clicking the white rectangle here opens the Remix 3D site in a browser, on a 404 error.
All in all, I give it 8/10.

So let's say you copy a text string to your clipboard like "he||o" and then paste it into a file or folder name on Windows. It removes the illegal characters for you and shows a tooltip explaining invalid characters, as expected, but it also changes the contents of your clipboard at the same time.

OneDrive opens its folder at random times! Like you are doing some work and out of a sudden bang OneDrive folder is opened in the explorer! This is a different from the fact that I clearly remember I removed the pesky thing in PowerShell but it came back at one point that I do not remember. And now flaunts its nasty presence by opening an empty folder and stealing the focus!!
-
OneDrive opens its folder at random times!
E_NO_REPRO on a so-called "outdated" version.
In fact, I don't even get the beautiful ad in
My ComputerThis PC!
-
@Tsaukpaetra Happens to me only on my laptop. No clue is wrong with it but I just close it and cannot be more arsed to find yet another gotcha requiring registry fiddling perhaps.
-
@dse I get that on my work PC, with both types of OneDrive (personal and business). I think it's the client crashing and restarting, at which point it 'helpfully' opens Explorer.
Edit: Found this:

@RaceProUK Reading that makes me wish we had a facepalm counter for each post as well as up and down votes.

Well what a fucking surprise. Virtually none of those fancy bluetooth wristbands offers a basic fucking API*.
* while the play on words was not intended, tracking movements during sex would be a possible application of that API so it works out.

FFS why is docker forums using ? How could any professional see those love eyes inviting strangers to interdiscourse and say: Yeah that is what I want from an established software!
they have not disabled the most annoying feature of discourse: you press Ctrl+F and it fucking steals your browser keybinding that searches the page!!!!!
-
FFS, Why is it so hard to tell if files are in conflict or not?!
At least it's letting me connect to said network drive, most of the time it does this it pretends the server doesn't exist and will only let me see whatever it's synced to my computer...

We have some tablets for testing. Some of them are Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. To connect them to (Windows) computer via ADB, you have to:
- Restart the tablet.
- Connect and disconnect USB cable two times.
- The third time you connect it, USB setting opens automatically. From this point, USB starts working.
- The setting has two options: Media transfer protocol (MTP) and Camera transfer protocol (CTP). Neither is checked and neither can be checked. MTP does work nevertheless.
(We also have some other tablets with their own adb-related quirks. I don't remember any tablet without any quirks).

OneNote 2016 for Mac doesn't work without signing into a Microsoft account. At all.
You can sign in or quit the app.

You can sign in or quit the app.IIRC, there are two versions of OneNote: One that works without a Microsoft account and one that doesn't.

there are two versions of OneNote: One that works without a Microsoft account and one that doesn't.
One 'free' version that is part of outlook.com/hotmail.com and thus requires an account with those services and the 'true' OneNote that is part of Office.
