I wish. Here! Have a pony, because I apparently left that on screen for something else, but, having forgot what it was for, still wanted my prior efforts to not have been in vain...

The lounge thread where I was giving Pony Island away?
(Lorne snatched it, though. Sorry folks. But you should still buy it, it's fun.)

I wonder if I lop off four bytes at the beginning that it will decode properly?
Then again, there's nothing to indicate decoding is going wrongly, so...
So still no clue what's the issue. So, on to some white box testing?
I stubbed in a method to spit back the VoIP packet right back to the original sender (but with the bot's ID, so it would appear to be a packet sent by the bot to said user), and that seems to work just fine (I mean, that's expected, but had to be sure).
So, tomorrow I'm going to tie the decoder directly to the encoder and see if it still echoes. If it doesn't, then maybe I didn't compile opus correctly somehow?
I'm running out of ideas, that's for sure....
Edit: My thoughts on how successful this has been so far (Actual screen clip from the game so far. Glitch from incorrectly applied texture):

status Forgot what a pain updating MacOS is. After updating to Sierra, and then updating again because the store couldn't be bothered with installing the real current, then I have to update macports. But to do that, first xcode has to be upgraded - because 7.3 is too old when on Sierra. That's now done. Plus the extra install of command line tools because that's not part of the xcode install. Now working on macports. Think I'll walk the dog while that's chugging along...
Some people also suddenly discovered none of their private keys work any longer due to Apple dropping openssl or some crap. That was also fun.

Rubbish is the privatest private forum category. You have to be one of the @administators to get in!

STATUS Reasonibly happy.
Last week I was at a loose end, not drinking at my desk, and decided to help HR email 73 attachments to HRMC. Took me about 20 minutes to write and test the code and then another 30 minutes to get their signature string just right. It still hasn't come back to bite me yet. Small victories!

Fighting with Entity Framework at the moment.

Just for the sake of it (and since the save/load game already does this, so it's pretty much just a copy and paste job), here's how you would transport a game from one computer to another.
Export:
console.log(JSON.stringify({ path: currentLevel.path, topLevelData: topLevelData, messagesDisplayed: messagesDisplayed, soundEnabled: soundEnabled }));
Execute that in the console and copy the whole string that it logs, starting with
{
and ending with}
(if the console collapses really long strings, get it to display the whole thing). Paste it into the import code.Import:
with ( // Paste the JSON save-game object in this space ){ window.initialPath = path; window.topLevelData = topLevelData; window.messagesDisplayed = messagesDisplayed; window.soundEnabled = soundEnabled; } currentLevel = levelPath(initialPath); initLevel(); draggingPiece = selectedPiece = null;

statuts
TFS just took 15 minutes to complete the checkout of a conflicting single file.
After I had clicked "Use server version, blow away local version"
And it's a plaintext file.
An auto-generated plaintext file (sitemap.xml) that is about to be overwritten anyways as I test the sitemap generator.
TFS, you're fine and all but somethings you just lose you goddamn fucking mind.

@Lorne-Kates It sounds strange that something that's expected to get regenerated a lot is checked in. I mean, we have that issue here, with stupid autogenerated 300kline files checked into source control, but it always seems to cause a huge amount of problems...

Especially if they're not checked out while regenerating.
I would be fine not checking them in, but the likes of Entity Framework don't do the needful automatically if they're missing so they have to be checked in otherwise automated builds don't compile and whafgleblargsllavdbdnal!!!!!

For one of the projects I work on, I've avoided that issue by generating
sitemap.xml
via an MVC controller. I also use a controller to generate therobots.txt
.Why do I do this? Simple: this one project has several themes, each of which has its own language list (yes, it makes sense). So they each need specific
robots.txt
andsitemap.xml
that reflect the available languages.
-
@Tsaukpaetra That's only a problem if you use a server workspace, which has always seemed like a mistake to me. Otherwise, TFS just detects changes and checks in whatever changes you select - all by default.
Most people here on the main team use server workspaces, but I have yet to see it actually help anyone.
Unfortunately, this team was told we have to use TFS's git. Which I hate.

Not just that, but also WinForms, WebForms, anything that uses XAML, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum.
-
@RaceProUK I'd just have generating them be a build step and not deal with them in source control honestly.
-
@Magus If they didn't need to be site-specific, I'd've looked into that method myself. But they do, so MVC controller actions were used instead.
And yes, before anyone asks, I do have output caching enabled.
-
@Magus said in The Official Status Thread:
TFS just detects changes
What's funny is that Entity Framework actually deletes the files when re-creating them from the template. And perforce isn't smart enough to handle this sanely.
Do you want to mark this file for delete? Huh? Do ya? Because, you know, if you later Mark a file for add I won't be able to change that to a check-out transparently!

Status: At first glance, the new multithreaded code matches the old single-threaded code in performance if you only spawn one thread. We'll see what the long-duration tests turn up.
It also matches when you spawn two threads. Again, we'll see what the long-duration tests turn up. I expect even if it doesn't work out I'll end up merging the changes, because I like the separation-of-concerns I had to apply to get this working.
