Now to get everyone to move off of their local accounts to Domain accounts.
Turns out, this can be extremely difficult, as Windows Store apps (including the Start Menu and
Windows SearchCortana) break completely if you use normal methods to reassign the profile to another account. If anyone knows how to adjust a Windows profile's SID to a domain SID, while still keeping Store Apps working, hit me up!
There might be a bounty...

Status: Finally graduated from regexes in sublime text to a python script to parse Humble Bundle JSONs for the human readable names (to make folders) and checksums (to make sure downloads are intact).
Yes, I know using a regex to parse JSON is — why do you think I made it into a script instead?
Currently will:
- Output the checksums in the correct format to either the console or a file for two organizational schemes:
- Flat: all files in same directory
- Folders: each file in a directory named based on the
human_readable
name.
- Make all the necessary directories automatically based on the
human_readable
names.
Next up:
- Perform the checksum checks (currently done in Cygwin)
- Move the files into the right folders after making them (currently done manually).
Future:
- Download, organize, and check automatically? Have to learn how to log in, etc from a Python script. Currently downloading via a download manager, and the JSON is saved by updating a section of a special URL and saving the page returned.
- Output the checksums in the correct format to either the console or a file for two organizational schemes:

Satisfaction rating: 3/10 - video contains a few repeats of sequences that are too similar, the sequence indicated in the initial frame never occurred in the video, and most of the sequences were not perfect enough for my OCD. Would not watch again.
(Also TIL that these are apparently a thing...?)

@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

Probably because steam renders the UI via a webview and if it's on a junction the shitty built-in web client goes ballistic and fails to load, generating a 404 that Steam's front-end fails to account for.
Oh, you wanted a good reason?

EDIT IIRC the hotfix had nothing to do with the junction issue so you're probably still screwed.

My son said he might be willing to try making polyhedral dice from hard cheese, like Parmesan, but not from the Monterrey Jack he was cutting up for breakfast. As for making them fair, well, I think that's likely to be a bit like the old story about trying to even the legs on a chair by cutting a little off the longest leg, except edible.

Trim a little off one leg. Check whether it's even. Nope, trimmed a little too much off. Trim other leg(s). Check if even. Nope, trimmed a little too much off. Trim first leg. Check if even. Nope. Repeat until all legs have len == 0.

That's how a junior developer would solve the problem. A senior developer, on the other hand, would optimise most of that away and simply remove the legs

FTFY. A 3-legged chair will sit flat regardless of whether they're exactly the same length.
