Point of information: That is a point of information, not a point of order. A point of order relates to the rules for debate —specifically, an (alleged) infraction thereof.
What about a Point of Odor?

I don't need a fridge to keep my beer cold, I just put it outside for 15 minutes.
Jealous ?
No. I have a fridge anyway, so why go to the extra trouble of keeping beverages at room temp and then cooling them outside where anyone could just take them?
Also, I don't drink alcohol.

I'm interested in seeing the costs to build and launch a rocket capable of dumping the marketing team into the sun, but not interested enough to re-learn all the math and calculate it myself.
Assume a marketing team of..... let's go with 100 average human at an average weight of 80 kg (slightly below the modern human norm)
that's a payload size of 8000kg.
The Space shuttle had a mass of about 2 million kilos and a mass payload of between ~12,000 and ~24,000 kilos depending on target orbit. Let's pick a payload of 20,000 kilos because the math is easier. Assume a similar ratio of mass to payload is required for our rocket
that's a final vehicle mass of 800,000kg.
Assume that we have a SSTS system because calculating rocket equations when staging is involved makes my head explode.
Assume we're using a Liquid Oxygen/Hydrogen Engine with an appropriately optimized engine bell. that puts our exhaust velocity at 4.4km/s.
Assume we want a total of 31km/s deltaV (for a bit of margin of error)
the Tsiolkovsky rocket equation is ΔV = Vexhaust × ln(morig/mfinal)` solving for Morig as that's what we want to solve... we get morig = mfinal × eΔV/Vexhaust
x = 800000 × e31,000/4400
x = 9.1810.... × 108
or... about 920 GIGAGRAMS for the initial vehicle mass
well.... at least it's less than the mass of a mountain.....
huh... it's actually within the margin of error of a fermi estimation the mass of a building. It's about 250% the mass of the empire state building.
The numbers are going to be slightly bigger than that given that atmospheric Δv is always going to be less than vacuum, as we all know.
If you can get around nuclear test treaties, you could also opt for an 800-900 second specific impulse nuclear thermal rocket motor and greatly diminish the size of the launch vehicle.
Or you could use asparagus staging and have blakey call you a cheater!
Well yes, but i was already making so many assumptions it was simpler to assume that atmosphere had no effect. We're still talking about launching Two and a bit skyscrapers into SPAAAAAAAAAACE! even if you manage to optimize the weight with clever staging, it's still a huge ass launch vehicle.
the kraken is sure to visit at least the first launching, if no tmany more.

Careful. You might incite the musicologist s who insist that there is a subtle tonal difference between those notes.

Well, if you're not dealing with equal temperament intonation, or you're using something other than the 12-semitones-per-octave Western scales...

If you're going that fast and you are pointing at Earth, you'll be "gone," too. I'd rather not be standing nearby when you "go," though.

Which reminds me that I need to dig up THAT thread and post the 180-ton, 12 rapier, 6 whiplash VTOL SSTO design I've been working on.

Right, and given the tendency for musicologists to pop boners over weird intonations and irrational meter (how many beats per measure if the time signature is 2π / e?), I'd say that's par for the course.
-

Pretend that this response contains the Scanners head exploding GIF, it's an appropriate response to that concept but people complained the last time I posted it.

2π. 1/e is the duration of the note that gets the beat.

Status: Between 10.4 and 10.9, Macs have had three different settings requirements in order to get them to actually use LDAPS when performing authorization queries to an Active Directory environment. Apple's documentation only covers the original requirements in 10.4, and nothing they publish in Googleable areas cover the requirements for later versions. Thanks Apple!

I usually make do with just keeping the beer in the cellar. A bit warmer than the fridge, but not by much and just fine for a decent ale.
-
@dkf I don't have a cellar

But your fridge takes way more than 15 minutes to cool it off.
FileUnder: this is all moot, since I don't drink beer.

@aliceif Coming next month: Undertale 2: SPAAAACE
-
@RaceProUK I call it a Dungeon, but only for the ladies in my life.
-
@TimeBandit To be fair, if I want a beer that cold that quickly, I'll pack some ice and saltwater in a bucket and stick the beers in there. Based on what I saw on Mythbusters, it'll be cold in about 5 minutes :P
-
@RaceProUK I would just drink it warm and not be a butter cup.
-
@lucas1 Depends on the beer: some are almost undrinkable when they get warm.

More like 5 minutes to find the bucket and salt and set it up, 5 minutes for it to get cold, and 5 minutes to clean up afterward.
Just wrap a wet paper towel around it and stick it in the freezer, that's faster.

It's a stretch to call them "beer" though.

Yes, because when they get warm they are completely identical to fresh urine.

That depends on how long they've been warm. After a while, it's stale urine…

Depends on how strong the cider is because tbh if I pissed into a glass after some nights after a westons you wouldn't know the difference between that and strong bow.

Does urine even go stale? Stale implies some kind of unwanted degradation in flavor. For some reason I've never done any experimentation on this subject.
-
@mott555 Depends on whether you are making Century Eggs the wrong way.

I almost wanted to ask why you were working with fractional Macs.
Then I saw the comma.
-
@Rhywden
I'm pretty sure one does not "work" with Macs. One merely sits down in front of one and prays that the ghost of Steve Jobs will allow one to accomplish a task.
-
@izzion Ah, not so much fractional as fractious then.
