@Yamikuronue Does that mean I can't use Brassica rapa chinensis to substitute in my corned beef and cabbage?
-

Pie pumpkin:

That's also Cucurbita moschata, a variety of winter squash related to butternet squash and crookneck squash.
From what I can find, pie pumpkins, or sugar pumpkins, are merely a smaller variety of Cucurbita pepo [core citation]. Got anything to back up your classification?
Fake Edit: I think part of the confusion may be this:
Wikipedia said in Butternut Squash:
In Australia, it is regarded as a pumpkin, and is used interchangeably with other types of pumpkin.
Wikipedia said in Pumpkin:
In New Zealand and Australian English, the term pumpkin generally refers to the broader category called winter squash elsewhere.

Here's how you make gravy: take the drippings, add some water, some more spices, and season to flavor. Boil until thick.
A bit of flour or cornstarch helps. I don't want it so runny that it just makes a pool on my plate.
edit:
Dissolve the cornstarch in cold water first, or else you just get lumps of starch.

Pre-Thanksgiving turkey: Making chili with ground turkey.
Thanksgiving turkey: Don't have one, yet. I need to go to the grocery store tonight after work and see what they have left in the way of turkey roast, turkey drumsticks, turkey breasts, or the like — not a whole turkey; that's way too much for the two of us to eat, even planning on leftovers. If they don't have suitable turkey left, I'll defrost the duck I have in the freezer and roast that. (Grocery store website says they still have 3-lb Butterball® turkey roasts in stock. I'll find out when I pick up my order this evening.) Probably homemade stuffing again, starting by cutting up a loaf of gluten-free bread+sausage+celery+cranberries+pecans. I'll do a gluten-free, no sugar added apple pie again. Gluten-free dinner rolls. Corn on the cob that I didn't cook a couple of nights ago when I grilled a steak. Probably mashed potatoes, either instant or maybe scratch if the isn't kneeling on the potatoes.

This year for Thanksgiving, I brought a cold.
My immediate family is all sick. Not the best year. And it looks like I'm going to miss the Black Friday Game Day (slogan: "fuck shopping") and also the Geek Craft Fair on Saturday, where I'd otherwise browse for Christmas presents.
It is not a good year.
