You are mixing FIAT and FORD.
Your choices are "Fix Or Repair Daily" and "Found On Road Dead"

Did you know that that means “barn” in Swedish? It associates entirely too much stability and velocity with that make of vehicles…

@dkf it might be small stuff until you remember... PHP. And this doesn't include the JavaScript. Or maybe it does because there's plenty of .php files whose sole job is to export JS with a few PHP constants in.
And most of those files have HTML and SQL in too.

Look, sunshine, I've dealt with macro-heavy C functions with more lines than that. (Eventually managed to split the
fsucker up too; moving lots of math out was a big win once I managed to persuade the compiler to not re-inline everything.) Huge PHP files don't quite terrify me as much as you might think.Huge Ruby files though…

@aliceif I blame my caffeine system having too much blood in it :p

@JazzyJosh Turns out I could have done it all on my own, and my Visa Infinite concierge was worse than useful because they only attempted to get one day's tickets when I requested all of them.
Might write an email about it :/
EDIT: They sent a follow-up survey. Guess what I'm filling out.

You have seen the thread, right? 4400+ lines of that quality. Which is loaded every single page. And it's not all functions, there's some application bootstrap in there too...

@Jaloopa Nerd shit:
They sold individual day tickets for a 3000 person venue.
Ticketmaster got $41.50 for allowing me to purchase $100 of face value tickets. Fucking scam artists.

Status: So far, today has sucked.
Have a client that asked "hey, in this system, do you track dates people sign up for this thing?" to which our response is "at this time, no", which got a confirmation from the client, then a follow up of "is there a report for that thing that shows how many people signed up last month?" and
Have a column added to a table for another client's application, go to our ORM to update its schema and get an error. Between the last update and the current one, the DB moved to SQL Server 2014, and the ORM doesn't support it. Kinda want to facepalm it, but we're just as bad because the version of the ORM we're using is 8 years old.
And finally:

@HardwareGeek what year, model, part? I'm better at Ford parts than the Ford computer system is.
Thanks, but I found it online with just a little bit of googling, and it explicitly says it's the size I need. It's been "shipped" to me. I just wish I had done that last weekend, instead of trying to get it locally (having the local dealer order it); I'd have it installed by now.
-
@dcon said in The Official Status Thread:
Ah. So now it's going to cost >2000?
No, still <$20, including (somewhat) expedited shipping. Unless you include about $50 worth of tools, because all of mine are buried in the very back of a very full storage unit (I didn't even have a blasted pair of pliers available), and $whatever for a couple of gallons of coolant. And bus fare, because I can't drive anywhere. Still less than $100.
Of all the things that could go wrong with an old car, this has got to be one of the least expensive.

Bonus Status: Rather than maintaining consistency with, I don't know, EVERY POWERSHELL MODULE EVER, the Set-NetFirewallProfile -Enabled parameter must not be provided a boolean. You have to use True or False (as a string, instead of the standard $true or $false you use pretty much everywhere else in PS).Yay, I love Windows Server Core
Edit: Though, in the interests of fairness (and more grousing), at least all the Set-NetFirewall commands seem to have the same idiocy around whether they use string True or boolean $true (hint: string True or bust).

My Reversi game has online play now!
(It still doesn't have a concept of users, so anybody can make moves for either player. Kind of Twitch Play Reversi at the moment.)
Fun fact: It took 3 times as long configuring OpenShift and Redis for this update as writing the code.
Edit: Ugh. ~5 minutes of downtime each deployment.
-
What, no takers?
-
Motherfucker. My Reversi game has jellypotato!
-
This is the most bizarre thing. So, Redis is making sure all 4 workers are receiving the same move events. Each has their own copy of the game state. In theory, the same move( event)s on four separate boards should yield four identical games in lockstep. That's not what happens though!
I appear to actually have four different games running. Making a move on any of the four flushes that board to all clients, though! So all servers are pushing to all clients, but each client is only pushing to one server. Or something.
Note, this is socket.io with Redis - the same thing NopeBB is using. This might be a clue as to
causes jellypotato.
Edit: Maybe my server can subscribe to the same sync events as the clients...
