I'd do it, but I don't even have it installed, since I haven't logged into my account in a year and a half

You're automatically logged on if you have a Microsoft Account that you told Windows about. ;)

Or did you not know that Microsoft automatically identifies your PC specifically, regardless of what you told it about Advertising or actually signing in to a "Microsoft Account" by hand?

Don't worry, IMGUR will fallback to gif if you don't support HTML5 anyways.

BTW, surprisingly, seems my skype name (which is the same as my name everywhere else, kinda) still exists.
I had skype on my old machine. I have skype on my new machine. They are different skype accounts. I neither wanted nor requested this. I lost all my contacts. I don't know how to fix it.

I think that happens when you log in with a Windows account. I don't know how to fix it, unfortunately.

I say fuck everyone taking clips out of video and turning it into 50MB gifs. At least imgur shields me from their fuckery. Not that imgur is amazing either.

I know you can merge old-school standalone Skype accounts and MS Passport IDs (or Microsoft Accounts, whichever they're calling them now). However, I don't know the exact process for it.

I believe it went MSN account -> Microsoft Passport -> .NET Passport -> Windows Live ID -> Microsoft account

No, they got rid of that shortly before FF22-- one of the strays that broke the "I will ever update again" back.
There is a plugin that will automatically disable animated gifs, so

@El_Heffe Not to toot my own horn but: http://superuser.com/questions/949569/can-i-completely-disable-cortana-on-windows-10
-
@Tsaukpaetra I replace Taskbar with ClassicShell after removing everything but Store - http://superuser.com/a/942419/49695 (edit 2 powershell script). I then remove Cortona ( http://superuser.com/a/949641 ).
Never had any instability issues myself.

@WernerCD removing the App doesn't remove the underlying service.
Anyways, welcome back!

Oh goodie for no reason in particular, Windows 10 does nothing when I double click a .mp4 file.
It used to yesterday. It would open up VLC and play the file.
The context menu has Play. That doesn't work.
If I say "Open With" and pick VLC, it doesn't work.
If I reset the file associations so that .mp4 opens with VLC, it still doesn't work.
But if I open vlc and drag the file in, it works.
I can blame VLC for this, or Windows 10. Which one shall I pick? Well, since VLC isn't even open when I try to open the file through Windows 10-- I'm going with Windows 10.
-
Also, where the fuck are my blue titlebars on windows? It's almost as if the title bar is a distinct entity from the menu bar, you fucking idiots.

Sounds like VLC is the problem; I've never had that issue before. I recently uninstalled that buggy piece of shit after it managed to crash my Android TV although the app wasn't even running. VLC has gone to shit.

It decided you might have a new program that can open mp4 files, and was loading up the Metro UI program picker to let you choose which program you wanted.
I'll bet if you double-clicked your video and waited ten seconds, it would have popped up eventually.

It'd be really easy to find out if VLC is the problem: Just launch VLC directly and see if it works.

No kidding. When I start up my desktop I wander off to have a cup of tea because I know it's going to try to apply a Windows update, fail, and then back it out (not sure why backing it out takes forever, but it certainly does). In this case it's probably my fault though and I've got to reset my PC at some point.
