Things that remind you of WDTWTF members

There's probably an existing thread that's similar, but I've got no idea on how to find it, so here it goes.

@Zerosquare
for libeling all forum members by insinuating any of them could be equivalent to a lawyer
-
We have a few of these:
-
@Zerosquare I have a vague memory of discussing this here when it first happened. But since I'm only 1/2 thru my first cup of coffee, I'm not searching.

This one reminds me of... (Click to view the large version and read the text)
Wait, this could be practically anyone here.
-
-
The other night I saw someone labelled “Blackzilla” (actually styled more like “I3lackzilla” or something, which worked better in the original typeface).
That reminded me of… every single registered user on this site.
-
@Zerosquare It's quite low speed. Not only is the signal's propagation speed is well below that of e.g., standard Wifi, but additionally, it doesn't carry very much information per ... package by default.
So, low speed, primitive wireless communications device. Very high wear on the receiver side too.
-
@cvi And the naming is the wrong way around. You send using a receiver and the "terminal end" usually happens to the one who gets it.

Not to mention collisions handling, which is pretty catastrophic.

Even a full pot of coffee won't make the search work properly
-
@Zerosquare On the other hand, unlike Wifi signals, this signal can punch through obstacles. So even if the first few packages get dropped, subsequent ones may make it through.
-
@Zerosquare said in Things that remind you of WDTWTF members:
Unfortunately, the receiver of the signal is likely no more able to consciously decode its meaning...
Fortunately, he won't vote Republican afterwards.
-
Pinging @remi.
-
@topspin It's even worse when you can compare different languages...

Proposed new emoji:

@Zecc every Roomba needs a dueling harness.
-
@Zecc Ah yes, the Clear-the-Roomba.

I've actually been thinking about it, I'm just not sure how strong it is.
I'm sure, at any strength, someone would be into it, but I'm not sure if my girlfriend would be.
Fuck, the sale's over anyway.

Got curious what that is, and googled it.
The VYBE X is the MVP of massage guns. Why? It provides a powerful, deep percussion massage giving you up to 3200 strokes per minute with 5 speeds and 5 hours of battery life - all with minimal noise.
I DON'T want to know what you're going to do with it.

I don't see any "For External Use Only" warnings.

Some Amazon reviewer said the regular model's motor drive shaft is rather flimsy because he had it snap. It also makes a burning smell because it uses a brushed motor like in a powertool.
One would hope the high-end models are better in that regard, but I wouldn't go when they basically have the same innards.

Flimsy is bad, but an industrial aesthetic would fit in well.

I honestly have no idea which member I'm reminded of, but I thought it reminded me for a split second and so it goes here in particular.

Naturally... (NSFW because apparently that's not obvious based on context)
It's pretty noisy, but not that unbearable. Some of the other machines are quite a bit louder...

There's still these things:
Some people are into these. Or the other way round. So I hear.

Looks like some kind of networking issue? I'm not sure. Lots of connection timeouts.

The reason I thought the above was real is that, at WTFCorp, we have a very real internal effort to eliminate "blacklist/whitelist" and "master/slave" terminology company-wide.
-
@error the funny thing about replacing master/slave with leader/follower is that it suggests a follower owes absolute loyalty and dedication and is to never question its leaders.

@topspin a couple months ago, I got a notification from Moodle that a plugin we use had an update.
Since I handle most plugins as git submodules, I went in the subfolder and did a git pull, but it said I was up-to-date.
After a little investigation, I realized that no new version was committed to the master branch, I had to switch to the "main" branch
