@hungrier Why does it look so awful in Firefox on Linux?
Pale Moon on Windows looks the same. I wonder if the forum's CSS has an
image-rendering
setting for emojis or whether it just lets the browser use its default scaling algorithm.
-
@JBert If so then Chrome-ish browsers rightly ignore it. It looks fine in Opera:
-
I just had a thought: looks fine in Linux FF:
So what's different between that 46x46 gif () and these two?

Seems someone needs their eyes checked.
So what's different between that 46x46 gif () and these two?
Dunno, they're all blurry to me, but that's probably because I'm text-enlarged in.

Is this recognizable?

Twice, even. The big version is Elon Musk smoking weed, but no, the emoji version is not recognizable. At least I don't think so.
Edit: And tried to submit my post twice when I clicked "Submit" once. Good jorb!

New update means new emojis. Lets see if I can list all the new ones and stop before I get to the ones that were already in the last update:

@hungrier While you're at it, mind adding this one?

@Zecc has the usual "shitty anti-aliasing on Firefox" problem.
(Don't remember if we had a manual solution for that or just the "here's a nickel, buy a better browser" one)

(Don't remember if we had a manual solution for that or just the "here's a nickel, buy a better browser" one)As far as I know the "best" solution was "make them exactly 2x larger, except that doesn't always work"

@Applied-Mediocrity If you don't mind I'm going to do a slightly higher res version of that (for high res devices and future-proofing) and submit it

We need this emojicode to actually have an emoji behind it, even (?especially?) if it isn't an official Unicode emoji.
I had tried to do something like that ages ago, but I don't think it works at emoji size. Or does it?

It just looks like the weapon systems are higher up than normal, but now that you mention it...

Works for me.

Our existing emoji has some nasty white anti-aliasing on it, so I went and cleaned that up:

Also, do we really not have an NPC emoji?
Might be a bit as a thing, but if we can have that helicopter, might as well have these, too.
Eh, kid and Wojak lost details. @hungrier can fix that, I'm sure.
E: Jiff didn't work out so well...
-
@Applied-Mediocrity NPC, mad NPC and Wojak are all recognizable (if you know the memes) even with the fine details too small at emoji size. Kid might may be as well, but I don't recognize that one.
Slightly thicker outlines may help. I'll take a look when I'm not working

This is a bit easier to see, I think:

This'll probably be too hard to see:

The white pixels over a dark theme's background look like sparkles, with some imagination.

@Applied-Mediocrity
Are you too to fix them?
-
@Applied-Mediocrity said in Emoji testing:
This post has bugs.
Bees are not bugs. Bees are members of the order Hymenoptera (membrane-wings — or possibly "married wings"; their front and back wings are "married" by a series of hooks during flight). True bugs are members of order Coleoptera (sheath-wings — the rear wings are covered by hard, shield-like forewings when not in flight), aka beetles.

@HardwareGeek Thank you. So, for @izzion - closed, not a bug
